I think I've decided to give up diet soda. I usually allow myself to have one a day in the afternoon but water would be better for me. So wish me luck

Thumbs up

Wow, you're doing great!

I understand about controlling oneself with certain things. I don't buy cheese nips, coz I KNOW I'll go nuts with them if they're here. I just enjoy them when I *run into* them at other people's houses & parties, etc.

The main thing that can give me problems right now is beer. I LOVE the stuff AND the way it makes me feel. But, once I go over a certain amount, not only do I have the extra empty calories from the beer itself, BUT I get the munchies too - and NOT for healthy stuff!

So, when I do drink it, I am experimenting with controlling the amounts, so as not to trigger the munchies... keeping some of the pleasure I get from it, but keeping the calories low at the same time.

Seems like you're doing the same thing in your own way. I'm glad it's working for you!

Christina is a glorious beacon of light
Chip~ you are doing great. I too will be giving something up... pop is first on my list (cause I dont drin kmuch of it anyway) and second is surgar... If I can give up sugar, I can do ANYTHING! So Chip, I dedicate my sugarless 2 weeks to YOU!
The only thing I would like you to change is to stop refering to the "Normal Person"... you know? I mean.... what is normal anyway? LOL

Unhappy Normal person

Christina, Your right about normal person. Need to say that in another way. Weighing what I do makes me out of control. I do think I'm normal (maybe). I'll think of a better way to put that. Good luck on your sugar, that was something I was totally out of control on. I do have sugar again, it's only nonfat yougurt 3 times a week. At least I think it has sugar, I have never actually looked. So besides that I have not had sugar in 72 days. I will have sugar again when I can have like, one scoop of ice cream, one candy bar, etc.

Chip

Red face Thanksgiving

I made it thru thanksgiving with no harm done. I even did my walking in the morning. I even stayed within the calories I'm allowed.

Red face jogging

I jogged 2 miles today without stopping. I actually think there will be a time when I can be a runner again. It has been so many years, guessing 15 to 20 years since I was a runner.

Red face Two Good Days

Yesterday I reached 250 Lbs, which is great. I decided when I first strated I would start lifting weights. Which I did yesterday, even thou I have not been looking forward to starting.

I weigh myself on a doctors scale, so today when I weighed in I was 249.50, so I get to move the big weight on the scale it has been a long time for this moment to arrive.

Today on my four mile walk, I started jogging at the very begining. All of a sudden I jogged 1/2 mile without walking, then a mile. I made my whole 4 miles jogging without ever walking. I am shocked, happy, thrilled. etc.
