Thumbs up My Run / Walk

I mostly ran my 4 miles today. In only 48 Min's. 21 Secs ., Yes I'm proud; I did not no I had that in me. I walked for about 4 Min's., ran the rest. That makes a pace of 12 Min's. 5 Secs. per mile. To think the first time I did 4 miles I struggled in at 1 Hour 23 Min's.

Wow what a great diary very inspiring. I just found it for the first time and I am really glad I did. You have done so well and come so far I am sure you will get to your goal. My starting weight is 304 and while reading everyones diary is encouraging its always great to come across someone who has been there and has lost a great deal of weight. It shows me it can be done. It really has spured me on as I was feeling a bit down. I love your 2wk diet idea and am going to give it a try. Lol starting with chocolate, its a big one for me but one I know will make a big difference. I also love how you list all the things you love about losing weight, reminds me of why I want to lose the weight. Well done for all your weight loss and good luck for the rest of it. And thanks for recording your journey, as it helps others as well.

Good job Chip. Its amazing the progress we can make just by being persistant. Its a slow process and it seems your not getting anywhere until you look back at where you came from, then you realize that your on the right road. I cant wait to start running again. I do run some, I let myself go 7 min. but I do a lot of elliptical. Im off to the gym right now.

Moabnut, I agree with you totally. And I know at our weight we do have to be careful not to over do it to much & injure ourselfs.

Talking The Race In On

Last year when my wife & myself were trying to diet we walked every night. So after we started this, one night this woman goes flying by us in a blur (she was walking). This continued until we both got sick & quit our diets.

Now we come to the present. I'm walking out in the desert, just when it got dark. As I come back into our neighborhood. Someone passes me on the other side of the street; going in the same direction as I'm. It miss speedy from last year. But guess what shes not gaining on me. Well well, I speed up until I'm a few steps in front of her. She speeds up & passes me. Remember were on opposite sides of the street. So I speed up a little & were side by side. She never looks at me once. Then she turns on the next street. A lot has changed in a year; I just smile.

Go to Dec. 2005, I'm visiting family in Vancouver Washington. I'm out walking in the rain (it rained every day for the two weeks I was their) feeling pretty proud of myself, walking in the rain. All of a sudden to women go blasting by me, and they were walking. They must have been 100 Yrs. old. That took me down a peg or two. I'll be looking for those two this summer.

A Long Way To Go

I decided yesterday to run 2 miles instead of 4 & do it in 20 Mins. I was to tired after 1/2 mile to go on. Sad to say I quit.

Today I decided I would run my 4 miles. All the other times I have run the whole 4 miles, it was unplanned. Well today I did it & it was hot, about 70 degress. Usually around 55 this time of year. It was my fastest 4 miles by 2 seconds.

12 minutes miles, wow. I haven't had a mile time like that in 3 years. Right now I'm at around 14 minutes a mile. It's dreadful. But good job on your running. Nice story about that lady, lol.

Valentines Day

Todays Valentines day & I treated myself to not walking today. Not a bad treat, if you ask me. Another shocker I bought my wife some earrings & she really liked them I almost fainted.
Lots of good sweets around my house that I'm not partaking in. I'd like to have one of everything, but I would rather be skinny some time in July or maybe June.
I'm coming up to some very exciting weights for myself. I can almost scream.

Thumbs up I A Runner

At least for today I felt like a runner. I only did my 4 miles about 3 Min's. faster than my previous best, it just felt so good. My time was 45:36, which if you're a runner you will laugh at. The first time I did 4 miles my time was 1 Hr. 23 Min's. I know there will be a time not to far in the future, where everyday I will be a runner.

Stayed within my calories today, 1,400 calories.

Thumbs up Step it up a notch!!!

Well, I'm stepping up my exercise program. I'm going to keep my four miles under one hour. This is a big step, I think I'm ready for it though.
