Actually, if I get to be a lecturer at a university, I might have to teach these sorts of subjects to degree-level or post-grad students. But to be a lecturer, I have to get this exam! Quote:

Originally Posted by bikinibound Being an American who loves history, I think the FDR to Bush subject would be interesting | It is, and yes, there is an element of 'empire-building' in the study, but it's not really a negative subject. The problem (for me!) is there's a lot of Constitution stuff to learn, Supreme Court rulings, executive orders, etc. But the subject itself is really about how the President has become so dominant in what was orginally seen as a three-branch balance.
Anyway, enough about me and my studies - sorry to go on about such boring stuff - I'm just right up to my neck in it
So you've taught in Korea? Wow, you have travelled! Is that where you met your hubby? In Asia? I know lots of Aussies start their world tours there. Then they stop off in London to work in one of the pubs or bars But eventually the lack of sunshine makes them all pale and pasty and consumed by withdrawal symptoms, so they have to head off again. Are you two in a sunny part of the States? Do you go down-under sometimes? I've always wanted to go to Australia, ever since we did a geography project on it when I was 11 (funny the things that stick with you!).
Anyway, as I said before, the problem with this forum is that it's adictive! I end up spending hours here, instead of studying! So I'm going to potter off now, and not even be polite enough to go and visit other diaries. I've got an essay to write so if you see me hanging about here, give me a good telling off and send me back to my books!
Thanks as always for all your encouragement. See you soon! |

I am pleased that you are getting on with your study. I certainly know that you are supporting me and would not expect you to visit my diary while you are so busy with study. It is vitally important that you give your studying your best shot!
Having said that - I am pleased to see that you are still on track with your weight loss, food control and exercise. If you can spare the time to post a note in your own diary (maybe once a week) just to say how things are generally going for you - it will stop us worrying about you. 81.8Kg is brilliant and I hope that you are feeling proud of yourself.
Take care
Love

Rep Power: 89 | | I could see how the Constitutional stuff could be dry--especially as you may never have a use for it. That is a subject I should be studying, as I will be taking the Foreign Service exam in early March, and that is a subject covered--and one in which I'm not very strong.
Yes, H and I met in Korea. He was not on a world tour, however. We both spent 5yrs there. H has never been to Europe. The rest of his family has, though. I would like to take him to England and France sometime--maybe when the dollar gains some strength against the Euro and the Pound. I cannot believe how much it's weakened over the last few years.
I hope you had a good weekend! Now, if you're on here reading this, shame on you! Now get back to work. |

Rep Power: 35 | | Wow I think that I would fall asleep having to read up on all that stuff. Though I do find it very interesting. Just that here lately it would have to be something *really* exciting to keep me awake! LOL
Sounds like things are going well for you and that you are staying the course.
Keep it up!
Now get back to work!!!! LOL |

Rep Power: 7 | | Thank you so much Margaret, Kimberly and Bella for taking the time to visit my diary. I feel somewhat embarrassed as I'm not doing anything in return - I think "mutual" support is essential, and I'm not giving much back to you at the moment However, I'm going to pop over and have a look at your diaries today, just to see how you're all getting along.
My weight's stable, so I should be pleased that at least I'm not putting anything on. I'm finding it difficult to exercise because of the time factor, but I'm doing a bit. In fact, I'm in one of those awful periods - I'm sure we've all had moments like this in our lives - where I have to get up early to try to study and stay up until midnight or beyond. With work, kids and hubby, there's just not enough hours in the day But in 2 months, the first stage will be over (the second part of the exams are in June, but the first exams are the most difficult for me).
Anyway, I'll visit your diaries a little later today (right now, my youngest is demanding bread and marmite - can't keep him waiting!!!)
Thank you all, again, for all this support. You're wonderful |

I know how busy you are. No need to worry about my diary it is just gossip anyway - I am fine!. Nothing momentous. I would rather that you spent the time doing something positive for you at the minute. Friends understand that when you are busy there arent enough hours in the day.
Well done for keeping your weight stable. That is an achievement in times of stress.
Take care
Love

I agree with Margaret. In no way do I expect you to be jumping into my diary right now. Your so busy and the things that you have going on are so important.
I just wanted to make sure that you know you have not been forgotten and that no matter what I am proud of you for trying to "stay the course" during this busy time.
You must remember that I did not lose anthing all thru the holidays but also did not gain.
If you can maintain where you are currently that in and of itself is a major accomplishment given how very busy you are.
Just keep doing what you are doing and don't even give me a 2nd thought! |

Rep Power: 89 | | Glad to hear you're hanging in there! By no means do I expect you to visit my diary. I'm always happy to see you there, of course, but I certainly understand that you are tres busy.
Learining to maintain is quite hard for most people. I think it's good to know that once you do take off the unwanted weight, you should be able to keep it off--and that is the other half of the battle. |

Rep Power: 7 | | Hi Bella, Margaret and BB, and thank you for your visits
I've done a quick visit to your diaries and wow! I'm impressed! You're all doing so well! It makes me feel a little disappointed in my own lack of progress. A month ago I was just a few pounds behind Margaret in terms of weight loss, and now she's streets ahead. Then again, she deserves her marvellous progress - and I don't!
Anyway, I'll probably disappear for a few days again. As I said, the problem here - as I'm sure you all know, being such active members - is that before you know it, an hour has whizzed by and you're still chit-chatting with your girlfriends. It just won't do!
I'll give you all an update in the next couple of days. Stability's good, but who knows, perhaps I'll even lose a lb or two! You lot are so inspirational!
See ya! |

Rep Power: 89 | | You shouldn't feel disappointed in yourself! You have got a lot on your plate atm--no pun intended. Just do the best you can--that's all you can ask of yourself. |

Just popping in to say that I hope that things are going well for you.
When you do check up next there is no need to visit my diary - I am still fine.
It will be a stressful time with all the studying so forgive yourself if you do gain a little. We have all done that in times of stress.
Take care
