That's a good thirty minute workout...way better than me yesterday! I got a ball a few months ago but I cannot get it to inflate.

Keep it up girl!

Great job Karebare, question is soy milk better for you than cow's milk? Calorie wise also?!

I have read that it is, and my You On A diet book prefers soy to cow...I bought the brand Silk, and my hubby claims it has a "taste" to it different than what he drinks...I cant think of the brand..I kind of liked it..its a vanillaie type taste (or so i think)

this is what i found on the web

SOY versus COW'S MILK

Let’s compare 100-gram portions (3.5 ounces) of soymilk vs.
cow’s milk:

Cow’s milk has 61 calories. Soymilk has 33 calories. Cow’s
milk contains 3.34 grams of fat. Soymilk contains 1.91 grams
of fat.

Cow’s milk has 14 milligrams of cholesterol and no dietary
fiber. Soymilk contains 1.3 grams of fiber and has zero
cholesterol.

Cow’s milk contains a full range of amino acids. Soymilk
also contains a full range of amino acids.

Both contain plenty of protein. Cow’s milk actually has one-
half gram more protein than the 100-gram portion of soymilk.

Soymilk contains greater amounts of certain amino acids
including arginine, alanine, aspartic acid, and glycine.

Arginine slows the growth of cancers by strengthening the
immune system. Alanine aids in the metabolism of sugars.
Aspartic acid increases stamina and plays a vital role in
metabolism, acting as an anti-oxidant. Glycine is necessary
for brain and nervous system functioning and muscle/energy
metabolism.

When milk is pasteurized, Vitamins A, C, and D are
destroyed. The same can be said for those vitamins when
soymilk is manufactured. Soymilk does contain more than four
times the amount of thiamin (Vitamin B-1) and nearly twice
the amount of niacin (Vitamin B-3) as does cow's milk.

Soymilk also contains more magnesium, copper, and manganese
than does cow’s milk. In order to absorb calcium, one needs
magnesium. Copper also aids in bone formation. One early
sign of osteoporosis is a deficiency in copper. Soymilk
contains twelve times the amount of copper as does cow’s
milk. Soymilk also contains 42 times the amount of manganese
as does cow’s milk. Manganese is also needed for bone
formation. People with anemia rely upon manganese for iron
storage. Trace amounts of manganese are essential for neural
transmissions, protein metabolism, and many other body
functions.

well today was a pretty good day so far

Biggest Loser on in 10 minutes..I am excited

I had the following:

breakfast bowl of bran/soy milk
mid mornign snack: protien bar
lunch: 2 small slices of my left over whole wheat/veggie pizza
small salad
yogurt
snack: apple, yogurt, tomato juice
dinner: 2/3 cup whole wheat pasta, with veggie burger sauted with various veggies/tomotoes and spices...and brocolli

i have drank about 32 ounces of water.
some tea....and coffee....One 1/2 of bottle diet pop(dang)

Today I had the feeling though that I was just a middle aged woman and could never lose this weight. I think of my grandma, and my aunt and the way they looked and I am seeing my future. I want to be thin so bad and I am trying self affirmations (like in the secret)...saying things like "you are thin and healthy and beautiful"..and trying to picture myself at my ideal weight....its hard when the negative thoughts creep in. I am trying to PUSH them out quickly.

Woke up this morning...decided I would put the gloves on and do a little boxing...light aerobic. Did maybe 15 minutes of light aerobics and got in the shower

decided to make my protien shake with a 1/2 banana and some frozen unsweetened raspberries...was pretty good.

put on my size 16 jeans..the ones that are more like a 14...they feel snug around the waist..(reminder not to over indulge). My other 16's are big...I am between a 16/14....14 too snug, 16 too big....its okay..I want to get to a 10...

I watched the biggest loser last night. the last few seasons I have had trouble getting into it because its too damn many commercials. But I stuck with it and was bummed that either team brown or yellow had to get kicked off. I felt like the brown team was such a nice couple...I really am going to miss them. but i did feel motivated.

I have 1/2 cup of that whole wheat pasta recipe left. So I took some fresh stir fry veggies and sauteed them this morning in a little Pam...and soy sauce...for my veggie. i left them slightly crunchy as I dont like my veggies soggy...this will be my lunch

thanks for the diet rootbeer evee... :-)

try to drop in later.

Karebare

Morning Karebare, Sounds like a great workout. I finally was able to watch The Biggest Loser and was sad that the brown team got voted off, but boy did they look good at their updated picture!! Still rooting for the pink team! I'll check back w/ you later!

Neat research on the milks. I have never tried soy milk but now I'll have to buy some and give it a shot. I never tried again to get my ball to inflate. We have so much junk in our house...I need to have a garage sale this summer.

It looks like you did great yesterday! Keep it up!

but i did do 30 minutes of treadmill last night and some arms (weights)...

so today i drank a protein shake with some frozen raspberries blended in

i had a probiotic yogurt for snack

i walked about 35 minutes at lunch at the mall

had a greek salad with chicken....(i didnt eat the pita bread..are you proud)

so far today
