The dairy seems like a great idea - I keep a pen and paper one, but this seems a clever thing to do.
Hmm.. Let me see.. Stats:
Age - 29
Sex - F
Height : 5'2"
Current Weight: 138.4 lbs (as of last sunday - Sundays are the official weigh-in days) Goal weight - 120 lbs
Exercise: Local fitness center Aerobics - 5 - 6 sessions a week, 45 minutes on the average per session
Weight training - 3 times a week, 20 - 30 mins per session
health facts
blood pressure on an average 110/65
cholesterol 172 (low LDL, but very low HDL - must do something about that), very high triglycerides. >
Smoking : no
Drinking: ...no (err, does getting smashed silly for new year count? thats the only time..) What I like about my body
- I used to have cellulite and thought it was there to stay, but it is GONE without me even trying! Exercise melted it away.
- I dont get "tyres" or side bags on the side of my waists - Even at my heaviest, I had a curvy waist, never gained fat there,
THANK YOU GOD!!!! What I dont like
- All the fat hangs therefore, on to the FRONT, giving me a pillowy tummy (
- am small chested, but heavy armed, big bottomed and thunder thigh'd :s GOD, GRRR!
(silver lining is that my chest never yo yo's - it neither gains nor loses, so i can lose weight without fear of doing further damage to my modest possessions :/)
WEIGHT HISTORY
- Skinny as a child, overweight since puberty - heaviest at age 26, at 165 pounds.
- lost about 20 pounds in the summer of 2005, after a friend died due to obesity related heart problems at 23. Lost the weight without much difficulty (quaking with fear burns calories), with moderate diet and an hour of swimming everyday.
- Gained most of the weight back over the next year, and stabilized at about 150 pounds.
- Lost 10 pounds by mid 2007 (group aerobics classes like cardio kickboxing, step and strength etc)
- plateaued for about 6 months despite continuing exercise and trying to eat moderately.
- lost 1.5 pounds last week and broke plateau, hurrah!
Issues:
- Psychological - see my thread "facing the facts - half the battle" int he NEwcomer section for a case of emotional diarrhea - If I do it again here, i'll be dehydrated!!
- EXERCISE I am NOT the physical type. i was a sick child and hardly played outdoors, so being physically active is NOT a habit, so I don't have a great attitude about exercise. But have been behaving impeccably over the past couple of years, and certainly over the past week )
- DIET - I dont have problems with fatty food - the funny thing is I DONT like fried food, chips, icecream or much sweets. I am admittedly a slave of chocolate, (and if you aren't one, life is wasted on you!!!! ), but I dont have a daily chocolate habit - I eat about half a bar of dark chocolate with nuts once a week, when we visit our local chocolaterie.
I LOVE vegetables, fruit, I cook all my meals and don't eat out more than once a week, so technically I shouldn't be having a problem, right?
Well, my nemesis is PORTION CONTROL. For example, I love strawberries, and i know they are good for me, but then, I'll eat 2 pounds of them. I'll eat an entire pineapple in two days. My egg beaters omelettes tend to be enormous.
I eat even when i am not hungry - I am not sure if i eat because of anxiety - i just need to be chewing over something all the time. it is like a nervous tick, or a bad habit, almost a dependency. I've got the problem quite under control lately, although i lapse into a baby carrot binge every now and then.
I have had suspicions that I do sabotage my diet - at least in the past, there has been some sort of gearing for failure, a cynical disbelief about actually being able to reach my goal weight.
So there.
Will try to keep my dairy regularly updated, and I will certainly try to keep my follow up posts short!!!

thanks for your post :0, No i have not much to lose, about 18 pounds now, but I've been try for sooooo long to lose that final flab...!!
Yes, I've been keeping track of measurements, and between the 10th of december and the 27th of december, i have lost 1 inch off the narrow of my waist (naval level), THREE off my lower stomach level (which is highest in circumference because I have this lower belly roll..), and 1 inch off my hips!!
i cannot believ it either but in both instances, i took very precise measurements, making sure I measured at the same time of the day (morning), and at the exact same areas (on my body, not in, like, my house, coz that would make no sense :P )
Is that even possible? Thing is i've only lost a pound and a half between the two dates.. so I was convinced there was some mistake.. but i find it reassuring that you had a similar experience too.. keep coming back!! I really appreciate all the encouragement |

that is a great loss. yeh i hate the scale but am soo addicted to it. i do stand on the thing a million times a day but have come to a stage where it just doesn't bother me what it says.
lol i'm sure it doesn't matter where you stand in the house...hehe. aslong as the tape is parralel and in the same place everytime. i find tat difficult so have to take loads of measurements and repeat just to make sure i'm doing it right. and i always look in the mirror aswell to see if the tape is straight...i think i may have OCD...hehe.
the last few pounds are difficult aren't they?? but hey as long as the inches are coming off who cares about the pounds...

Rep Power: 6 | | ok... weight-in day today - lost virtually nothing - .2 pounds :/
Well, a little disappointed but frankly not surprised, because i gain weight through PMS... 2 - 3 pounds usually, and i lose most of it in the following week... So i'm actually glad that my weight has been stable, even marginally lower than last week.
Hm... had a subway lunch today - eating has been decent today. Dinner might be kashi - i'm not very hungry.
So... have to keep the good behavior up, and I'll hopefully see some los next weigh-in!!!
Thanks it for today. have to carry cake to a friend who will have a baby any moment now. her logic is, she will need to majorly focus on weight loss ofter the birth, so she can still eat cake now and write it off on the baby account ) |

Rep Power: 6 | | Arghh, it has not been a good week for my diet purposes.. new year lunch was a close shave, although i did quite some damage with the italian food (with the pasta and the cheeses and the cheesy sauces and the white sauces and waht not, it was a difficult obstacle course)...
And the rest of the week has not been impressive either - I've managed to maintain 1500 calorie levels, but have not been eating the right kind of stuff...
Could only work out two days so far... in all, lousy performance... and tomorrow is weigh- in day, waaah!!!! Must steel myself for a no-progress on the scale.
Fair enough. at least holidays are over, and I can get back to routine from now on :/
Right now, given how the week has been, I'll be glad if I manage to hold my current weight stable, and NOT put on a pound or two!!! If i see 138 still, it is a save. if i see lesser, it is a miracle! |

Welcome to your diary! It's a great way to keep track, write about, and vent all your frustrations about weight loss. I love mine! I know exactly what you mean by portion control! Same goes! I'll get a healthy cereal out for breakfast... and then eat three bowls of it! ARGH! It's rather frustrating at times! Anyway, keep up the good work, and I know that you are capable of losing those last few pounds! Keep it up! |

Rep Power: 6 | | This week's weigh - in: 136.2
have lost just over 1/2 pound this week :/ But have exercised religiously!! Did a 500 cal cardio 6 days this week, apart form other things.
Eating could have been better, there was an incident involving peanut butter... :B
Ok... action plan for next week - keep the exercise schedule up, improve eating!! Target weight loss - at least 1 pound!!
But MIGHTY pleased to see my BMI touch 24s... THAT has been a milestone.
So long! |

Rep Power: 51 | | | When you started, you and I were at the same weight...and the same height. Congrats on reaching 135!! I can't wait for that. It doesn't seem so far away, but since I've been hovering around 138-139 for a few months now, it feels like it's impossible to get there. |

Rep Power: 6 | | dariqueen, just hang in there!! You've probably hit a plateau, i was stuck on a plateau at 140 for something like 6 months.
just mix up your routine, and you should see the weight coming off again..
As for my routine, i do 5 - 6 hours of aerobics a week, and some strength training. i eat well - oatmeal for breakfast, plenty of fruit and vegetable, protein for lunch in the form of eggwhites or chicken, and milk and fruit for dinner (never ate much during dinner time). Snacks are yogurt, low fat cottage cheese with fruit...
I really hope you start seeing results soon, and thanks for stopping by at my post!!! | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
