I really should put her in preschool, but my grandma watches her and my boy for free, plus I like being able to spend time with them when I can.
nah not all. sometimes i have a few. this year i'm teaching 9-11 year olds but i dunno about next year. not many people send children to school at that age but i have had 4 and 5 year olds who are exactly like that and i feel like putting them ahead in another year but aahhh the world's not perfect is it. your grandmas great doing that. that is amazing for the kids and you!

Anyway, I own 2 weight loss centers. I bought the first one almost 3 years ago and opened the second in July. Pretty crazy that I have a weight issue, huh? But I rarely ever go into work, maybe I would be thinner if I did! But the first year I ran it I probably spent 60 hours a week there and barely made any money. So now I have 2 managers and pretty much run things from home, which is really nice. But like I said, I do want to get rich someday! Ha ha! So we are actually going to start franchising the business out someday (one of my managers is a real go-getter), but I don't think I'm ready for that yet.
thats brilliant staying at home and running a business! i hope i can work from home 1 day...maybe pprivate tuition or something. you are so lucky having managers like that. its sooo hard to find hard working people!

;-)

Calories, macronutrients, micronutrients. You can also track physical activity, and it gives you a guesstimate of calories burned (BMR plus normal activity).

Dottie's Weight Loss Zone! I love that site. Although if you don't do points (which I don't), there's not enough information for some restaurants - but it's generally the ones where there's absolutely no information anywhere else. If I ever need meals for a "you couldn't possibly eat 5,000 calories at one meal" discussion, DWLZ is where I go first!

Hi WTBT,

What's the name of your weight loss centers? It sounds really interesting.

Not so mucht hat oyu have a weight issue, but that you own multiple weight loss centers but you're using the lemonade diet to lose weight rather than a lifestyle change...

what do your weight loss centers promote?

So anyway, any time I would eat anything outside my program I would gain like 5 to 10 pounds. (And by outside the program I mean I ate 1800 calories on a bad day), it was so frustrating. I have only had 2 clients like this and I told them both that I was sorry but did not know what to tell them...I do not think you can eat perfect every day, and I told them to get their thyroids checked since I am not a Doctor. Well my Dr. said that my thyroid was fine, (by the way, after 1 month of eating this way (and I did not "cheat" every weekend either, one weekend was the party, one weekend I went to the movies and literally had 3 handfulls of popcorn, and one weekend was a night out with the family in which I had a piece of pizza, but still stayed within 1300 calories) my weight ended at 189...a one pound gain). \

So normally I would not recommend any kind of fad diet, but so far it is the only thing that I can see the numbers consistently coming down...the last thing I need right now is to see my weight go all over the place because that is so discouraging!
If you are gaining on 1200-1400 most days at your weight, there's obviously a problem with your metabolism. Have you ever tried doing a refeed for an extended period? Maybe increase your calories by 100 per week until you get to 1900 or so, and stay at 1900 for a few weeks. Obviously your metabolism is very slow for your size and gaining on this amount of calories is not normal, so I would check it out or fix the metabolism before I tried cutting ever more calories. Time will tell what will happen with the lemonade diet, perhaps it'll be a success and I hope it will be. I just worry this will go even further to killing your slow metabolism. Maybe eat more and exercise more? I'd fix that and then worry about getting the weight off later.

SweatPea, well my first Center is an Inches-A-Weigh...but I am not a part of the franchise, the woman who owned it before me broke off and won the right to use the name in Iowa. I am going to change the name eventually but it has been open for 11 years so I am trying to build up my other center before I change it. The second Center I started I named A New You. We are not done with the website yet, but it will be anewyouia.com...I think it still says that it is coming soon but I have a girl working on it.

Maleficent, Trust me, I really would never recommend this to a client...but I have not run across another person with a metabolism as slow as mine...the only people who ever did ended up with thyroid problems. I guess I am only doing it because I am hoping it will give me some kind of a boost, which it did in the past and I have heard from other people that it can jump start their weight loss.

Blancita, You know, when I breastfed I ate anything I wanted, probably 2500 or more calories per day, and I stayed at 183-188. Then for awhile I wasn't motivated to lose but I just ate "healthier." That kept me at about the same weight since I wasn't nursing anymore. So I decided to start exercising when my boy was about 1...I actually did a good job of going in after hours and doing cardio and the toning tables, and I did infrared body wraps which burn about 900 calories in 1 wrap (go to FormoStar direct if you want to see info on them, we have wraps in my centers and they are so awesome!), and that did make me go down to about 175 to 185, but it was like I could never get past that. I mean I have eaten lots of different amounts of calories, I have done no exercise and a lot of exercise, but nothing has really pushed me down to a place I have been comfortable. I usually try really hard for like a month or two and then just give up because no matter how well I eat or what I do I can't even get back to the 150's.
The one thing I wonder is if my birth control is preventing me from losing weight, but I hate to just use that as an excuse, but it is the only thing that is different this time. I got an implant called Mirena, and weight gain is not a symptom, and my Doctor doesn't think it is the reason, but it is frustrating that I have tried to do it the right way so many times in these past 2 years and I never make any real progress.

I don't know if this is going to work great or not...I hope so. I know that losing weight really fast usually means that it is just water weight and that you will gain it back right away, but the last time I actually did it and stuck with it I lost 13 pounds and it at least pushed me down to the next level.

I started at 207 on December 31, and I am staying around 195 right now. But like I said, I am going to go back on a balanced diet on Friday. But the one thing I am hoping will really help me is some new equipment I got in my A New You Center, it works the muscles through stimulation so you build muscles and burn calories. There is also a lymphatic system drainage and a light that works as light therapy. Sounds weird, but if you want to get an idea of what I'm talking about go to CHANGES - What Can We Change For You?. We JUST got our equipment and our girls trained so I am so excited to offer this to my clients.

Anyway, thank you so much for the support everyone. I really appreciate it. And I know that it sounds crazy doing some kind of weird diet, but I just need something to give me hope right now.

You know I have the EXACT same problem. I lost about .8 lbs steadily for one year after the birth of my baby, but despite several repeated tries and I cannot get below around 138 (a few times my scale hit 137.5, but that's as low as my scale will go..MAYBE ITS THE SCALE?!). I also have the Mirena and also wondered at times if it could be contributing to this. I love it though cuz no AF anymore so I'd hate to take it out but its occurred to me that's for sure. Hmmmm, how could we figure this out.

OK, NOW I understand why you're trying whatever you can with this diet your on right now just to see if it will give the boost you're looking for. I've read 2 different books about leptin resistance, which seems to have something if not everything to do with the problem (which causes an increased appetite and lowered metabolism as you cut calories). Anyway, the 2 books give completely different advice on how to fix the leptin resistance and I tried one for 1 month and I'm doing the other in a half assed approach right now. Well please do stop by my diary if you have time so we can commiserate and try to figure out a way to get our last pounds off!

the problem with the lemonade diet is that once you go back to real foods, even healthy foods, much of the weight you lost on it -will come back.

From all I've read, unless there's a thyroid condition involved, and there is medical treatment for that, the best way to repair a slow metabolism is to not starve it but to feed it - find your maintenance calories and eat there fora few weeks and do some strength training exercises to build up muscles...

I looked up about the Mirena (I'm on it too) and a lot of people in forums complained about weight gain and other problems. My doctor had told me the progestin stays local only but I'm starting to see that's not true from what I've read and that it does go into the blood stream. I dont want these fake hormones in my system at all so I'm getting it out. Thanks for the heads up.

Hey girls, thanks for all the great support.

Blancita, I am glad to know that I am not the only person with a broken scale! I have thought about getting it taken out, but I love it as a form of birth control. I got pregnant twice while was on the pill, the second time was my fault because I was on antibiotics (and I don't mean that it was a bad thing...I just wasn't prepared to get pregnant 1 month after graduating college and buying a business!), but the first time I took my pill everyday at noon...but if you read the story about my daughter then you know that we were supposed to have her. I just think that 2 kids are perfect and I don't want a baby right now...probably not ever. I love to have time to devote to each one and with 2 it is hard enough! But I tried to get my husband to have a vastectomy...he won't. He has a friend who had a bad experience, so that is out of the question. I just wish things did not have to be so complicated!
