Fighting for 30# loss

Well after weigh in on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I am still at the 28# lost mark. I am fighting for that elusive 30# lost for the month! I have one more weigh in being tomorrow to get it gone. If not it is no big deal but it would be cool to start this journey in the first month with 30 pounds gone!!

I am still soda free (diet or regular) since Jan 3 rd which means I have had no caffine since then also. I never really went through the withdraws I have heard my friends talk about. I think I drowned them with all the water I am consuming..lol I am steadily drinking close to a gallon of water a day. I think my biggest change in my habits besides not eating lots of salty snacks (my weakness) drinking water has really the biggest change I have made to my body. I am sure my body was in shock for the first couple of days saying, " What is this stuff? We have not seen this in a long time!!" LOL I would literally go several days without drinking even 8 ounces of plain water. Now I know that foods naturally have some water but obviously not enough for my body to be healthy.

Ok so I will stop babbling.
Tuesday was a decent day of eating.

Breakfast - 3 strips lean turkey bacon, motz low fat part skim cheese stick.

Lunch - salad with tomatoes and light ranch dressingm 8oz of ham, half cup of green beans

Dinner - 6 oz grilled chicken breast, 1 cup broc and cauliflower mix. 2 small bites of light double churn chocolate ice cream.

snacks - 1 motz cheese low fat part skim stick

Water - 3 liters of water

Ok thats enough of that. TODAY WILL BE A GREAT DAY!!! I want those 2 pounds damnit!!! lol

your calories for the day seem awfully low... and awfully processed too - so good for you for drinking up the water...

are you keeping track of your calories and nutrients anywhere - like FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal or one of the 100s other free sites out there? I'm kind of the self proclamed fiber and sodium gestapo -your fiber seems very low and sodium seems high - you might get better results of the fiber goes up and the sodium goes down

When i've given up coffee (a choice I will never make again) the biggest issue I faced was the blinding headaches - almost migraine like - from the caffeine withdrawl - which is very common - if you didn't get the headaches, you're just an amateur in the caffeine olympics

Well all I can say is that if an ameture with drinking 6-8 regular MT. Dews a day I was, I would hate to have been an olympian.

What type of fiber foods do you suggest? I am willing to try anything to adjust.

I do fill out my daily meals on Fit Day and I am between 1500 - 1800 calories a day. I started at around 4000-4500 calories a day.

Thanks for the info.

Yesterday was a good day!

Breakfast - Celery stalk with 2 tbls of peanut butter, 2 slices of lean turkey bacon, water

Lunch - salad with egg, avacado, grilled chix breast 4 oz, 4 large grilled shrimp, balsamic vinaigrette dressing, water

Dinner - 1 cup of boiled black beans (bioled from raw state, no canned), 6 oz grilled chicken breat seasoned with ground cumin seed and pepper, 1.75 cups of green beans.

Snacks - low fat motz cheese stick.

Beverages - 2 liters of water

At weigh in this morning I am still at the 28# lost mark. Hopefully I might see some movement in the morning. Going to walk the treadmill tonight and need to make it part of my routine every night. Right now I am doing about 2-3 times per week and I would like to get a good 40 minutes on 3MPH for 5-6times a week.

Today will be a great day!

The beans were good. I actually boiled a whole bag of beans and threw them in the fridge and then I will eat a cup a day with my dinner.

Last night I threw the beans in the pot with the chicken, greenbeans and the spices and it was sort of like a goulash(sp?).

I actually make this chili that has black beans, northern beand and kidney beans that I really like to. I might have to make that over the weekend.

I did some research on the web and with me doing south beach phase 1 right now alot of the fiber foods has many carbs also. So I had to pick 5-6 fibers which had low carbs so then it would not throw everything out of wack. I am only going to be on phase 1 until the end of February and then I will slide into phase 2 which then includes more fruits and such so I will have more of a selection of fibers to choose from.

One month down, a lifetime to go!

My first month of my lifestyle change has been incredible!
With January gone, I also lost 28 pounds of me. Just amazing, I still cannot believe it. OK I can believe it but still pretty cool!!

February has started now and I would like to lose 10-14 pounds this month.

Go Eli!!!

Ok so yesterday was a good day.

Breakfast - 2 scram eggs, lean turkey breakfast sausage 4 oz, skim milk 8oz.

Lunch - South Beach protien bar, skim milk

Dinner - grilled chicken breast, cup of black beans, cooked celery sauteed

Snack - popcorn during the Super Bowl

Beverages - 3 liters of water.

Weighed this morning and still holding strong on the 31 pound loss.

Goal this week to get in 5 days on the treadmill walking at least 38 minutes per day.
Bought a pedometer and tracking my steps during the day. Just curious on how much I walk in a day not including the treadmill. If anyone reads this and knows, what is a good step count for a day not including any purposeful exercise.

Seeing some pretty cool changes in my body also up to now. I have gone from a size 20 inch neck in a dress shirt and now wearing my old 18.5 inch neck dress shirts that I have not been able to wear in about 3 years. I have went down a complete suite size (from 54 to 52 and the 52 is loose) Should be in 50's in no time. In jeans I went from a 54 to now wearing a comfortable 50 and damn close to a 48. The 48's are my mini goal jeans. I dont have any smaller than that so I guess I will have to go buy a pair of 46 just to have the carrot in sight. Oh well enough for now.
