Yesterday was a good day. It is pretty amazing how much more enregized I feel now versus what I felt like before I started my lifestyle change.
Yesterdays meals were as follows:
Breakfast - South Beach protien bar, skim milk oz
Lunch - Cobb Salad with grilled chicken and grilled shrimp, boiled egg, tbls of blue cheese, diced cucumber and balsamic vinaigrette, water.
Dinner - Grilled chicken breast, cup of cooked asparagus, black beans and 8oz of skim milk.
Snack - 2 hersheys kisses (bad I know but had a chocolate craving)
Beverages - 2.5 liters of water
At weigh in this morning I was down another pound so I am at 32 pounds lost so far and for the month I am down 3 pounds!!
Completed day 2 of 5 for my goal on the treadmill for this week. I walked today for 45 minutes at 3 speed. My goal is to walk for 5 days this week for at least 38 minutes a day. So far so good!
Great job and delicious meal ideas! I wish I had you cooking my meals, then maybe I'd lose all that weight too. I'd say the 2 chocolates is PRETTY GOOD! You're human not a machine like these diet plans sometimes expect us to be. Hope you're having another great day!
Snack - 2 more hersheys kisses (2 days in a row yukk!!)
why does that rate a yukk?
You should be able to include indulgences in your lifestyle plan.. Diets don't work - diets are about deprivation.. you want to be able to use this for the rest of your life if you expect the weight to stay off..
Lunch - Cobb salad with egg, grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, diced cucumber, tbls of crumbled blue cheese and balsamic vinaigrette dressing, water
Dinner - 97%fat free turkey sandwhich with fat free mayo, fatfree cheddar cheese on whole wheat multi grain fat free bread, cup of green beans, cup of cooked red beans, 8oz of skim milk
Snack - 2 ritz crackers with peanut butter on them.
Beverages - Water 2 liters
Did not walk on the treadmill last night but I will be back in it tonight!! I had some dental work yesterday and I came home, had dinner, kissed my wife and kids, took 3 advil and crashed. My mouth was killing me but it is much better this morning.
At weigh in this morning I am still holding strong at 35#'s lost. Current weight is 320.
Ok so it has been damn near a week and a half since I have posted. I have had lots of work and family stuff going on but i have kept with it.
Since my last post I have lost 3 more pounds, getting very close to my second short term goal of 40 pounds!
I am going shopping today for a couple of items becaue I am fastly running out of my motivation clothes. I started this journey with a drawer full of stuff that was way to small and now I am down to a pair of jeans which I can get on now but i still need 5 pounds to be good in them and then I have 2 shirts which are in that realm of 5 pounds of fitting. So I am going to that next size down!
I plan on starting to post my foods starting tomorrow again, just been crazily busy. I hope all is well with everyone. I have missed reading the motivational stuff on here.
Great work so far man! I am on week one myself for this time around--but I am also a big guy with much to loose. I am finding your progress great motivation. Also I have to root for the fellow Cowboys fan Keep up the great work.
Missed you Scotty,
good for you for getting new motivational clothes! I am sort of waiting for the rest of my weight tod rop off before I spend money on clothes (I am poor.... I mean I actually struggle to pay my bills, so I am really poor). I did buy myself some underwear (because darn do panties look bad when the bum is shrinking), but I will be so happy when I finally buy my new wardrobe...
So have fun shopping, Camy
I am blessed that we are financially stable (Thank you GOD!!!). Not rich by any means but we do ok. I did buy stuff on super sale at Kohls! We love Kohls! Plus I bought pants that are 2 sizes smaller than what i am wearing now as my goal clothes. They will last a bit longer..lol
Big -TX great to see you by my diary and welcome to the forums. I hope you are having success in your journey. As you read I started thiss on January 3rd and it still blows me away the amount of weight I have been able to drop in that short period of time. The best advice I can give to you is to not have huge goals and keep it real. Do not get discouraged. The one thing we cannot control is when our bodies actually want to drop the weight. you might do great for 10 days and not drop any and then the next day drop 4 pounds. Cannot predict it but as long as you stick with it and keep motivated it will hapen.
Had another great week. Next week I will be at a conference in Chicago so that will be a bit of a challenge but i will eat what I can and that is that.
Starting my 8th full week. So Far:
1/3 - 1/12/2008 - 11 pounds loss
1/13 - 1/19/2008 - 12 pounds loss
1/20 - 1/26/2008 - 5 pounds loss:
1/27 - 2/02/2008 - 1 pound loss
2/3 - 2/09/2008 - 5 pounds loss
2/10 - 2/16/2008 - 4 pound loss
2/17 - 2/23/2008 - 4 pound loss
Total thru 7 weeks - 42 pounds loss
Current weight: 315
There is good news and better news.
The good news is I am still at 54 pounds lost, no gain for the last 3+ months. The better news, I feel like I am starting fresh with a renewed goal with my life changing journey. I never got discouraged I just got very busy with real life but was able to maintain where I was. My Goal for the rest of the year of 2008 is to lose an additional 34 pounds.
I have really missed the forums and the people here. The motivation is second to none and the success stories are incredible.
I am glad to be back to continue this life long journey with all of you!

Hey Scott! Maintaining your weight is no small feat, I am very proud of you. Who knows, your little break may have helped your metabolism adjust and now it will be shocked again into some bigtime weight loss.
What have you been doing differently than the "old you" to keep maintaining your new weight?
Well done Scotty fopr maintaining and for coming back with refrehshed energy.
I also did it (only for like a week or 2 off board) and I feel more centred and motivated now.
I think you can definitely lose another 34 pounds until the end of the year, if you try hard probably even more, but having a smaller goal insures you don;t get disheartened if a week was bad and you get pleasantly surprised when it end up being more than expected.
I was still swearing off fast food and sodas and I was still getting at least .75 - 1 gallon of water a day.
I was still eating the low carb but not as stringent as I was when I was melting away the weight on a pretty fast pace earlier in the year.
I have no doubt in my mind I can get the 34 pounds for the end of the year. My official goal is 34 pounds but secretly in my head I am trying for more of the 45 pounds range..lol
Thanks again for your kind words. I have missed you guys.
