6 weeks down

Already at the 6 week mark and I will weigh in tomorrow. For the last week I have been fluctuating right around 340 so for the last 2 days I have increased my exercise by adding 30 min on the treadmill every night and writing down my calorie intake. Today so far I did 1 hour on the treadmill and had a can of progresso soup with a round cracker with 3 slices of canadian bacon. I'm keeping my motivation up and charging ahead!

6 weeks= success!

The first 6 weeks are behind me with a total loss of 31 lbs! That is an average of just over 5 lbs per week and my waist measurement is down to 54.5 from the 62.5 I started at! I have dropped into the 330's and am done with the 340's forever, never to return! I am feeling better and have more energy, I cant wait for a few more months to pass.

Phoenix, your attitude is great and reading your insights has been great motivation for me. I hope your success continues and look forward to reading about it... and about whatever you eventually replace your lunchtime turkey/cheese salad with when you finally get sick of eating it every day.

Changed it up!

All is well, it has been a wonderful day so far and a good start to the weekend. Thanks Squeak I appreciate your input and have read your diary and wish you all the success you deserve. As for the lunches I did change it up because for 1 week there was no loss registered on the scale. I was having a big salad with 2 oz of turkey and prob. 3 oz of cheese, tomatoes and seasoned pecans(baked in oven w/brown sugar and cayenne powder) with lite Italian dressing. I, for the last few days have changed to a can of progresso or healthy choice soup with 1 pilot bread cracker and 2oz of canadian bacon. It seems to have worked and the weight is starting to drop again. This changed my calorie intake from 500-600 down to 300-400 for lunch.

Thought for the day: Never in my adult life......

I have been overweight for so long, and for all of my adult life! There are many things that I have never done or experienced as a "normal" weighing adult that most people take for granted, for example... to run...just to run for the sake of it......with the exception of running across the street to avoid becoming a hood ornament. I have not done this since I was a kid, and it was fun dambit! Well I just might get another chance, it's just simple things I want!!!

Weekend Warrior

It is the weekend but there is no break in fighting the fat. I have done 1 hour on the treadmill and had homemade chicken soup for lunch. Not sure what is for dinner but it will be healthy. To suppliment my exercise yesterday I shoveled snow for 43 min and will probably do the treadmill for 30 min tonight. My next mini goal will be to get into the 320's, probably in 1 week or so.

Thought for the day: Slip-ups, goofs, mistakes, ruining my program?

Just thought I wanted to talk about falling of the wagon, slipping up, or making mistakes on my program. Every time before, while trying to loose weight and sabotaging myself by eating pizza or McDucks or Popeyes, I would have the overwhelming feeling "I just ruined my diet" and feel it was useless to continue because my program was already "ruined" and I let myself down. I was way wrong in thinking this way. Progress cannot be undone in 1 meal! I still have lost X amout of pounds, my program is still there. So I have taken a different approach, once in a while I will allow myself to have the certain bad or fatty foods that I want, I will prepare for it and schedule it in. I will exercise more to compensate for the added calories and I will feel no remorse. The next day my program will continue and it will be easier knowing that I can have these certain treats and still continue to live a healthy lifestyle. A good example was Valentines day, I prepaired for it and knew what I was going to do (I wont describe all the fatty, calorie-laden intake) and came out of it like a hero, haha, and my program continues, I maintained a positive outlook and the battle continues.......

Ending of another week.

Another week is ending, with success, and I weigh in tomorrow. My program is going well and the more I read(on this forum) the more motivated I get. I have dropped from a size 48 pants to a 46 so I am excited, small moves in the right direction.

7 weeks gone, behind me now.

Today is the start of week 8 and I know it will be awesome. For the first 7 weeks I have lost a total of 35.2 lbs and dropped a pant size! I feel better than I have in a long time and have more energy. The treadmill is getting easier and it is becoming routine. I now think about the foods I eat and make healthy choices. I still have a looooong way to go but there is no reason I cant make it, with a little determination and motivation there is nothing I can't do!

It continues.....

Another beautiful sunny, healthy day. Yesterday I got new shoes and did the treadmill for 1 hour and they worked and felt awesome. Also I walked the dog for 51 min, I can tell the difference in treadmill walking and "real" walking(its harder). Anyways I ate food that was good for me and plan on getting extra exercise this weekend as this is my 8th week and want to have as much loss for the 2 months as possible.

Im back, and still flabtastic.

Ok i am back. I originally started my program on the 2nd of January and wrote in my diary until March 26, then I stopped writing. I don't know why, probably because I "knew" what I was doing and didn't feel the need to write about it everyday. I still ate well and walked 1 hour a day until we took a trip to Las Vegas April 21st. After returning from our trip I totally disregarded healthy eating and exercise and gained a few back. Well its not true........ "whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"... because it followed me home on my stomach and ass...hahaha. Too much good food and no exercise. So it is time to get back to the program and kick it in high gear! Healthy eating everyday, no fast food, lots of water and exercise. I started weighing in at 367.8 and today weighed in at 331.4, so it is still a 36.4 loss so far. Here goes..........

Back....again....again.....

Ok im back! Im on it! Time to get pumped up and motivated and start doing!!! Today is day 3 of getting back on my healthy lifestyle. I don't know why I went off it, why I lost the motivation and drive that I had when I first started, I need to find the answers so it wont happen again. Anyways back to healthy eating in smaller portions, drinking more water, and exercising at least 1 hour every day. Ha ha my last post was buried on page 24. I also need to get my ticker back up and running.

PhoenixRisin' in 2009

Another beginning. 2008 went well with me loosing appx. 30lbs, not as much as I hoped for. Well it is now 2009 and every day above ground is an opportunity for change and I plan to take advantage of it. Two weeks ago I made an appointment with an exercise specialist, had my blood pressure and blood sugar checked and was cleared to start exercising at the gym, so I did. In addition I plan on making an appointment to consult with a dietitian to "get my mind right" haha. I have never joined a gym so this was a big step for me. I have gone everyday that they were open but being the holidays they have been closed a few days. I have done the treadmill for 1 hour and every other day(except weekends-closed) and have used the row machine to start toning my upper body. Eventually, within 3 weeks I will have them train me on some new machines and kick it up a notch. I need to start keeping track and writing down what I eat for every meal and setting up a weekly meal menu. I am excited, thrilled and motivated for the new year and the possibility for change. As of now I am 335 lbs, and my first major goal is to get into the 200's (it's been a long time). Happy New Year!

Well I haven't written in my blog for a while, not really knowing why but so it is. I joined the gym in January and work out 1.5-1.75 hours a day m-f, supplement my exercise by walking the dog 3+ times a week and eating healthy. I also see a dietitian every 3 week that holds me accountable for my actions. I am now at the verge of going into the 200's club. My current weight is 305 so I am almost there, so far I have lost appx. 63 lbs. I feel better, I look better, and I know this is the path I want to stay on. Tomorrow I will update on the changes to my program.

aLMOST THERE!

Today I weighed in at 302 lbs, I am on the verge of going into the 200 club!!!!!!! It has been about 3-4 years since I weighed under 300, I will never return to the 3's again! Since picking back up my program in January I have lost 30lbs, about 7.5 lbs a month through eating healthy and exercising 5 days a week. I look better, I feel better, I have more energy and a positive outlook.
