Well, I've been on this site for a while now. I did start a diary before, but I screwed up. So, this is a new start, for a new year.
In august 2007 I started at 217 lbs, and in november '07 I was around 197. End november and december didn't go very well for me. I didn't lose anything. I actually gained 3 lbs, making me 200 again. (GAH! I wanna get outta the 200's!)
This month I decided that I have to stop playing around, and finally after years of having 'lose weight' as my new years resolution, I've decided to fulfill it. So I've already lost like 2 lbs and I can't wait to lose more!
In dec. I went to Holland for 3 weeks, and it was SOOOOO extremely cold! I tried to go running, but I could barely breathe! I didn't eat horribly when I was there, but I didn't exercise, soo, I gained fat and lost muscle.
I'm back on my wonderful island and I've taken back running (warmth! <3) and going to the gym. I also realized that I'm too dependant on dairy products and meat. So, after much though, I have decided to become pescetarian (only eating fish) and (do my best) to avoid dairy products for atleast 1 month or 2. If I'm happy after these 2 months, I'll continue to eat like this. I just think it's much healthier.
I'm 15 years old, 5.11'/6.0' and ready to lose 50 lbs!

Reason: spelling
Gracious you are a statuesque gal, if your height is nearly 6 feet? Did I read that right? AND YOU ARE ONLY 15 YRS OLD? Your avatar looks much more mature!
How nice that you were able to travel to Holland! And I'll bet the cold weather made you glad you don't live there permanently. Hope you had a good time!
Do you have an actual plan to lose your weight? In the end, PLANNING TRUMPS WILL POWER EVERY TIME!!! Bravo on getting back to your exercising, it will be such a help in shedding those extra pounds.

Yes mam! You did read that right! ^^
Dutch people can get reaaallyy tall. When I went to Holland in december I didn't even feel tall! SOO many people were taller than me!
My dad is dutch and my mom is philippina, though she's really tall for a philippina.
When people meet me, they don't usually believe I'm only 15. *shifts eyes* I've heard I can pass for 20. Dun, dun, dunnnn. ^^
Maybe that seeming older thing is good now, but I hope that does'nt happen when I'm in my 20's >.
I actually DO have a weight-loss plan..
February 1: 197 lbs March 1: 192 lbs April 1: 187 lbs May 1: 182 lbs June 1: 177 lbs July 1: 170 lbs (7 lbs because it's summer!)
I'm not so sure about the GW for July, cause I'm guessing as I get lighter, I will lose weight at a slower pace..
Anywhoo, that's my plan.
I'm already 196.6.. But, I'll leave the GWs set, in case something goes wrong... *shifts eyes*
So, today was pretty alright.
School wasn't too fun. I probably failed Algebra, which REALLY sucks, cause I've never failed that before.
My fault; I didn't study. I was getting too cocky and thought I knew it already. Meh.
Other than that, I went to the gym and just came home like an hour ago. I did my first aerobics class again, after like.. 6 weeks.
I feel pretty good. Wasn't too hard..
I'm dying to go running again. I haven't been since friday..
I'm getting the Nike+ for the ipod, that you can use when you go running. I'm SO excited! *dies*
Not too shabby.
Saturday the Survival race takes place. I'm SO excited! We're gonna go kayaking, running, swimming, biking around the island! It starts at like 4:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Soo, that'll be interesting :-3
- Maya <3
Hey you guys!
My goal date is like really soon.. :-3
I believe I'm going to make it! I weighed in at 196.4 a day or two ago.
YUHS!
Okay, now, today was Survival!
YES! It was SOOOOO awesome!
The 20 teams met up at 6:00 am and from there we had to jog/walk up this REALLY steep hill for about 400 meters? My team came in 5th and thus we got to start off fifth. (a group started off every 5 mins, so that it wouldn't be clustered on the trail)
Sooo, we hiked through the bush. Seriously.
For the first part we had 120 mins. You see, my island has a lotta hills (see links). http://www.gccpcarrental.com/sxm2.jpg http://cocotier.net/photo18.jpg
We had to hike up and down up and down. The first half an hour - hour was a killer! After that your adrenaline was pumping and your muscles kinda numbed, so you didn't feel the pain anymore! ^^
We arrived at our checkpoint in 90 mins (sweaty and hot) with minor injuries such as, scratches, poison ivy burns and 1 or 2 wasp bites.
We breaked for 10 minutes and then we had this obstacle in the trees with rope and stuff. We had to kinda swing from these ropes and climb them. Poor, poor Maya. I have barely anyyy upper body strength, AND im overweight! Other than that, I was completely freaking out cause there was no harness and we only had like 20 minutes to finish the obstacles. I started hyperventilating and had like a minor mental breakdown. Well, I ended up doing 2 out of the 4 obstacles. Whatever.
After that we had ANOTHER hike through the hills. We had 90 mins, and we finished in 40. Awesomeness.
At the bottom of the hill there was another checkpoint and from there we took bikes and biked for 35 mins. We were 5 mins over our due time so we got like 5 points penalty.
We biked to the beach and there was another checkpoint there. We took kayaks from there and kayaked for 30 mins, even though we had 45, to a semi-private beach. There was a whole barbeque set up there and games and shade and.. REST!
So, this was at 1:30, and we were like the 4th team there or sumtin.. (we'll know the results on monday) and we all just hung out, played games, swam and ate until 5:40. Now, I took a well-deserved hot shower. That was amazing on soo many levels.
I shall sleep now. Ciao!
- Maya <3
p.s. I feel good. Accomplished. All in all, it wasn't really that bad. I thought it would be a lot worse... Can't wait to do it next year!
Well, I'm guilty of not posting in a while.
Let's update shall we?
Well, first off our team came in FIFTH place! YESSUR, u read that correctly!
Anywhoo, um, other than that.. i HAVE been doing better.. I took on the eating 200 - 250 calories at 6 am, 9 am, 12 pm, 3 pm and 6 pm, with the exception of eating 400 calories at 3 pm.
You see, the fricking scale won't fricking move! I've been at 197-198 for like WEEKS! It's SOOO frustrating! I go running or to the gym six times a week, and I've been doing this stupid 1200-1400 calorie a day thing. I lowered my intake cause eating 1600-1700 calories, didn't make the scale budge either.
It's so fricking demotivating cause after all this time of being strict about what i eat and then when there's an opportunity to eat something like chocolate or whatnot, it's like 'GEE, I'm not losing weight ANYWAYS.. *eats 10zillion pieces of chocolate*'
Gah.
This is SO stupid.
*fumes*
Whatever.
I seriously wanna make my goalweight of 192 by March1. If I don't make that it's gonna be a really bad start for the year and a horrible sucker punch in the gut.
God, I hate being fat. I know I've slimmed down a bit, but honestly I don't see one freakin difference when I look at myself in the mirror. My pants are looser, people compliment, but i just DON'T see it! And, I can't help and wonder if people would treat me better if I wasn't so huge. Maybe then to guys I would be a little more than 'just friend-material'.
Ugh.

hi maya!
you look so very pretty (judging by your avatar) and from what I can see you carry your weight really well! i can't believe you are 15 and 6.0'!
that means that when you reach your weight lossgoal you can go into modeling watch our gisele and adriana
So, guess what?
I twisted my ankle the other day, which REALLY sucks, seeing I haven't twisted it for over 6 months (weak ankle), and now I did. Soo, I can't go running or go to my aerobics class, cause since my ankle is weak, it can twist SOO easily.
I'm stuck on the elliptical machine, which isn't bad.. but my gym only has two, and the one infront of the window is currently out of order, so I'm stuck on the one in front of the wall. Boringggg.
At least on the other one I could count the cars passing by. >_>
Anyways, this morning I woke up and I weighed myself and I was 195! I'm SO happy. I believe this isn't just water-weight, or a scale error, cause yesterday, after dinner I weighed myself again, and I was 196.4. Soo YUHS!
I have been eating well today untill.. *cough*... just now. >< Breakfast:
- one slice home-made bread ~ 100 cals
- whole-wheat cracker ~ 40 cals
- 1/2 grapefruit ~ 60 cals
- 1 starfruit ~ 40 cals
- 1 egg and 1 egg-white omlet with green, red and seasoning peppers, onions, garlic, tomato and 1 tsp parmesan cheese ~ 150 cals total for breakfast ~ 400 cals snack:
- 1 south beach diet penutbutter granola bar ~ 140 cals lunch:
- 3/4 cup fish soup w/ 1/4 cup rice ~ 200 cals
Now..this is where it goes wrong: Horrible mistake:
- M&M's ~ 300-400 cals *dies*
You see, it's my friend's bday today, and we were throwing her a surprise party, and I was chosen to make the cake.. and I bought MMs to put on the cake, then my friend called and she said we didn't need the cake anymore..and this is the point where all my ingredients are set out on the counter.. *hangs up phone*
AND.. then I decide 'let me eat some MMs, since I won't need them anymore' .. and .. BAM.. I felt the need to eat those horrible, delicious little thingies.. and now.. GAH.
AND.. my friend's party is today and guess what's on the menu? PIZZA, CAKE, UNHEALTHY-ness. <_< Ugh, this is gonna be a challenge..
Well, I guess I'm gonna hit the elliptical for a good hour to 80 mins.
YAY! a whole 80 mins of staring at the wall. <_<
Hope everyone else's day was better than mine. Stay strong everyone!
- Maya <3
Haaaai everyone!
Yesterday I walked to the gym (15 min) and was on the elliptical for 80 mins (989 cals burnt) and walked home (15 min). Soo, I burned over 1000 calories. YUHS!!! I'm kinda bummed that I didn't stay on it 82 mins, cause I REALLY wanted to see '1000' on the screen of the machine. (OMG I'M RYMING! ^^)
After that I was STARVED, I ate a granola bar (140 cals) .. and at the party I had 2.5 slices of pizza, a slice of cake (RLY small, i swear! It was WAAY to rich (mousse) anyways) and ~ 4 cookies and a few chips.
Soo, I didn't really eat healthy, AND I didn't stick to my 200 cals limit, but I worked really hard on the elliptical, so I'm not too spiked up about that.
Today, I woke up at 10, and I had 1 slice of cold cheese pizza... SUCH a WONDERFUL and healthy way to start your day *shifts eyes*
When I came home I had 2 oranges and lemon water.. and 10 mins ago I had 3/4 cup cereal with milk, and a bite of my mom's granola bar.
For the rest of the day I'm gonna take it really light. Maybe only with a cup of yogurt and a granola bar or fruit. That way I can make up for not sticking to my 200 cals thing. (I do SO well during the week, and in the weekend this plan just goes to hell >_>)
I may go running later, but I'm not sure. I REALLY don't wanna twist my ankle again. My gym is closed so it's either running, walking or swimming in the ocean.. but, I don't really like swimming there cause I always end up feeling relaxed and end up not working out.
Meh.
How's everyone else's day today?

Hey Maya! Good to hear from you. I must say that your exercise routine is amazing! I do not remember the last time I burned nearly a thousand calories on the elliptical. I always found it to tiring. Great, great job! Taking it light today is a great idea.
I am sorry to hear about your ankle :-( How is it right now?

Heeyy!
Thanks!
Nawh, this is the first time I've done ~ 1000 cals on the elliptical. I don't really get very tired from it, but it's just SOOOO boring ^^. I did it cause I KNEW I would eat unhealthy that night and so much exercise balanced it off, so I wasn't over my calorie limit.
I SO prefer going running outside or something, cause then I'm in the fresh air and around nature.
As for my ankle, it's slightly better. IT doesn't really hurt when I move it, but when I press on it, it does. I would go running, cause that's not what hurts, it's the fact that I might twist it again since it's weak and all. Egh.
Anywhoo, thanks for passing by.
I shall pass by you too

Okay, so I haven't posted in a long time..
What's new? Hmm, well my parents went off-island for like a month, leaving my brother and I to fend for ourselves..
I THOUGHT I would still end up going running everyday, but that didn't happen. I barely did any intense physical training in that time, but I still ended up losing 5 pounds. I know it's mostly muscle, but I'm clinging on to the hope that maybe, since I controlled my eating really well, I DID actually lose some fat.
I decided to post again cause I'm kinda bummed. I've been doing SO well, and then once I weigh myself and realize I'm 190lbs, I start eating like crazy! I've binged SOO much these past two days!
It's almost as though my body doesn't want me to weigh under 195! Or maybe I have it in my head that I've been doing so well, I might as well cheat.
Egh. I hate this SOO much.
I never wanna step on a scale again. Blah.
WOOH! I'm a whiney brat.
Anywhoo, how's everyone else doing on this fabulous day?
So, we're in June. I can barely comprehend how fast time has gone by. I've been on this site for nearly a year now.
Since November I haven't been sticking to my diet, and I'm always like "yeaah, next week I'll start again. I already screwed up this week, so I might as well start clean next week."
Well, that's the same story week in and week out.
Now, 7 months have gone by, and I'm still around the same weight I was in nov. If I think about it, it saddens me because I could have been 30+ lbs lighter. I wanna kick myself in the butt, but now I believe I'm going to stick to this. I already avoided a bunch of high-calorie foods the last 2 days (pizza, cake, chocolate, croissants) so I'm feeling optimistic.
I'm really gonna do my best this summer (monday is my last exam) and I promise to keep you guys updated on the PROGRESS.
Much love,
Maya
