Hey Sophie Indeed, yay for motivation! I'm glad we were both able to re-find ours within a week instead of a month or more!

Hope you enjoyed your calculated cheat

Wahoo for core strengthening!! It's amazing how good it makes you feel, isn't it?

Don't fret about the bloat deary. I drink so much water, I constantly feel that way. LOL. Look at that though, at least you're back down to your comfortability level!!!

I'm so proud of everything you've accomplished, honey!! Not to mention that you're keeping up on your elliptical!!! And back a while ago, you had your doubts!!! Look how far you've come, chica! I'm an uber fan of yours for sure!!

So, another period of not posting. I've been having trouble bringing myself to post my food because, honestly, there are days when I'm going to eat cheese. There are other days when I'll have some cake. These things are going to happen. And I feel like whenever I write that these things have happened, everyone's thinking, "Oh, she's gotten off track again." And I know that's not true--you folks have been nothing but wonderfully supportive.

So I can't bring myself to give specifics, but I do want to keep up my diary and talk about how things are going.

Last week, I was really scared that I must have ballooned up horribly because I had a period of four days when I was so frightfully entranced by a computer game that I barely moved and pretty much ate nothing but pizza.

But lo and behold, I'm down to 252.2 as of today, when I could bring myself to check. I think some of it may be the metformin that the doctor prescribed for me. I'm pretty thrilled, though, since this brings me up to 35 pounds lost and within 5 pounds of not being morbidly obese!

Plus, I'm going to California in a couple of weeks (eek! like two), and see, when I was at my heaviest, there was one time that I couldn't fasten my seatbelt on the airplane. I managed to hold it in place with my arm in an apparently casual pose so that the attendant wouldn't see because I was so embarrassed.

Now, I've been on a plane since then and was able to fasten the belt, but it was still an effort. And I'm going on this trip with two people from the university, and I don't want them to see me fighting with a stupid damned seatbelt. I'm about ten pounds lighter than I was on my last plane trip, but still nervous. So I'm hoping to drop another few pounds before then so that I can get the belt on without too much effort. *crosses fingers*

Been a long, long time since I checked in--I've had vacations and whatnot to distract me, and I'm up again, which isn't surprising given how damned much pizza I ate while on vacation. But I'm home again now, and tomorrow morning I'm going to do a proper weigh-in so that I can see precisely where I am and update my ticker and then try to get back into the groove of paying attention and caring about my body. For now, I'm fresh off a plane, so I'm just going to take a bath, eat a nice, simple couscous and chicken dinner, and probably turn into bed quite early, I hope.

Hoping to catch up with everybody else soon and that summer hasn't been so full of pitfalls for others!

Hey Soph!!

Sorry I haven't visited here in a while, honey, work and sports are keeping me quite busy. In the hours of the day I do have spare time, I end up doing housework. lol.

So talk to me sweetie, how do you feel you're doing on this journey lately? How far are you from your goal now?

Breakfast—Lara Bar
Lunch—grilled marinated sardines, marinated mushrooms, potatoes in green chili sauce (YUM), two slices bread
Snack—large iced mocha with macadamia nut syrup
Dinner—macaroni and cheese and honey barbecue chicken
Snack—Two chocolate truffles (105 calories)

Not a great day today, but I was thrown severely out of my routine by a doctor's visit where I was told that I'd likely have to have carpal tunnel surgery and made to have some very scary tests to deal with the numbness in my feet that I've been experiencing lately. Then I had to hang around at the pharmacy to get a prescription for tomorrow's root canal.

And the thing is, I think I need to call the doctor tomorrow and ask for a glucose tolerance test to make sure I don't have an unusual presentation of diabetes. God, I hate this. I've always been quite healthy.

Rach, I'm apparently doing better than I realized. I thought I'd gained weight, but on my visit to the doctor today, I found that according to their scale, I was down six pounds. My home scale isn't, uh, wildly reliable—it had me up by two or more pounds. So I guess there's been definite progress, but it's difficult to track it knowing that I can't rely on my home scale. Anyway, my ticker now reflects official doctor weight—254.

And look, your meals are still on par as well!! Life isn't so bad for you, right now. Crappy at times, yes, but definitely not that bad.

Have a wonderful Friday, honey!! (((Big hugs)))
