Rep Power: 56 | | CHEATERS never PROSPER! Well Guys....I haven't been posting for a minute, cause Its bad enough that I DO EAT mostly the same thing everyday, except for weekends, but MAAAAnnnn...you just get TIRED of reading the same thing EVERYDAY so...less posts and MORE WORK!!! Trying to smash them SIZES down!!
As far as my eating, lately it has been really good EXCEPT for last night, I cheated and ate a couple of bites of Hash Browns and GREASY butter bread..WHITE too ...didn't feel bad about the Omelet, but DID feel BAD about eating at 2:30 in the morning!
Ooops...I broke....don't forget the Kamakazi shot and two STElllllaaaaS! ....evil Alcohol!!!!!!!
Sheesh...you would think that I'm on a ROLL to GAIN weight HUH!.....
To top off my MOUNTAIN of GUILT...no exercise for the past three days have gone on!!!
Tonight 9 miles......Honestly, what happened was that since the past week I have been trying to stay away from CARBS and SUGARs almost COMPLETELY and I was doing good for a minute....I went into withdrawl and I DRANK and ATE CARBS all at the WRONG TIME! VERY Disappointed with myself! Poooooo |

Rep Power: 56 | | 13.5 miles....coming SATURDAY! Sooooo...I did RUN 9 miles last night....and what I am really PROUD of myself for is that I WAS HONESTLY mentally prepared to do 13.5 miles and I could have....but it turned dark and honestly I live in CALIFORNIA and it isn't safe to run by myself so.....THATs it!....CARBS are still out of my eating...I am desperate to weight myself....YET I DO NOT WANT DISAPPOINTMENT>..I DID take another picture...still no REAL results....NO COURAGE to post them YET!! |

Rep Power: 19 | | Great job on the running! I totally hear ya on running out of time on runs. I tend to do that to...set a mile goal in my head and then after I have been running a while I realize that I'm almost out of time and can't seem to squeeze the last few miles in. It's almost like you have to block out 1/2 a day to do long runs!!
Good luck for your 1/2 on May 17th. How are you feeling about it? Ready to go? Do you have a certain time you want to finish? |

Right now I am averaging about an hour on the first 4.5miles take a 5 min. bathroom break...then another hour and 5-10 min...for the second 4.5 miles....so hopefully I can just keep that up and do it in a bit better than 3hrs & 30 min.......what do you think?
I know I can run it no problem, but in better time who knows....
What was your time running it?.....how were the last 4.5 miles....?? Did you feel it easier to run amongst the crowds? or you like it by yourself better? |

The first 1/2 was really painful for me and the last 4.5 miles took its toll. The ONLY reason I finished at 2:45 the first time was because a good friend of mine who runs full marathons all the time kept encouraging me. I was so exhausted!! I literally collapsed at the finish line from exhaustion. My goal was to beat 3hrs and she really pushed me to my limits. Keep in mind I only "half assed" trained for 3 months beforehand.
On the 2nd half marathon I just ran on 3/31 I finished in 2:45 with ease. The whole run seemed very comfortable and enjoyable. I could have totally pushed myself to shave 10-20mins off my time but I didn't. I ran alone with my ipod and just enjoyed the run. At this run I had been training consistently for about 9 months and really noticed the difference in my stamina.
On your big day it is very motivating to run w/the crowd. I found that in the first 1/2 marathon there were 6,000+ runners so I was always surrounded by people. The second 1/2 marathon I ran there were only a few hundred people so after about 1 hour into the run I found myself pretty much alone. I had one gal in front of me and 1 guy behind me for the longest time. The 3 of us would catch up w/one another and then space out over and over. hahah Sometimes I was in front, sometimes in the back. On the last 2 miles I passed them up and didn't see them until the finish line.
I think what makes a big difference is making sure you take in enough fluids but not too much. You also want to get some Gu to keep your energy levels constant throughout the run. I took a Gu at 5 miles and then 1 at 9 miles. I like the chocolate flavor w/caffeine. I also ran w/a bottle of cytomax (sp?) to keep my electrolytes up.
You might surprise yourself. I think 3:30 is totally doable. Once you set your first time then you have something to measure yourself against. I'm looking to shave some time off of my next run.
Good luck to you!! Sorry I wrote so much. LOL |

It really HAS changed me and now I find that it's not only about LOSING WEIGHT anymore but TO TAKE IT BACK TO BASICS...you know when you were a KID and PLAYING outside was FUN way better than STAYING HOME, and I realize as ADULTS we loose that OFTEN, and it's important TO be ABLE to ENJOY the FRUITS of Each and EVERY step we TAKE!!.....Sooo Soooorryy for the "SPEECH"....REally is BEAUTIFUL THOUGH!...I HOPE YOU START! |

Rep Power: 19 | | Sorry to hear you strained a muscle. You need to take it easy. Maybe put some tiger balm on it and rub it out. Don't run if you are injured...you'll just make it worse.
Do you cross train on your days off? I typically run Tues and Thurs and then do my long runs on Saturday. On the off days I try to do weights and the elyptical machine. You gotta make sure you rest enough
What is a spark by the way? LOL |
