Amber's Diary

I have never written in an online diary before so here goes.

Goals:

1. Get into shape; I want to be able to go for a hike and not dread the hills.

2. Loose pounds; I really could care less what the numbers are, but for health its gotta be lower.

3. Tone and Stretch; I am 25 and I swear I have more aches and pains then an 80 year old... not cool..

4. Drink more water

I am still trying to figure out how this is all going to come into play, but so far I am trying to walk everyday, or at least some sort of activity. I have increased my vegetables and fruit intake each day and paying attention to food labels. I am trying to base my meals on the Canada Food Guide to the best I can.

March 18

today, no walk... so I went to the backyard and attacked my disgusting garden...and plan on doing some ball exercises later tonight.

Havent stayed off the path for eating yet today, but honestly its evening that gets me... but at least there is no garbage in the house so if I do snack it will on fruit.

Welcome to your diary!!
Sounds like a good start. Water is def very important. I am trying to drink water, I feel like I am swimming lol .. but anyway ... nights are bad for me too ..
I sometimes eat at night. But with out the goodies in the house ... its an excellent choice not to have it in the house needless to say. A walk is always good .. I have lost 42 pounds just by jaunting slowly around the city on different routes. I am not with any gym. You can lose weight just by walking, just to let you know; however, now walking is too easy, so I have to walk faster and possibly start jogging in April, but you know what I just wanted to let you know you can do this. You can do this just by walking. I used to hurt all over too and now it doesnt hurt at all to walk anymore, its easy ..too easy for me now. You can do this!

Keep writing and Welcome to your diary again!!

always

Thanks natalie jo for your support.

So I decided to come down to Victoria with my kids early and the car ride was rough. My husband drives us half way and my parents pick us up. The rough part was my parents decided to stop at the gas station and buy a whole crap load of junk. I sat next to a open bag of chips for 2 hours and I didnt eat any. YAY!! thats a big accomplishment for me I think. I got myself sunflower seeds and ate those.

Yesterday however....we took my daughter to the park and on the way we stopped for lunch at Wendys... I had myself a bacon cheeseburger, which was better then the usual bacaonator.

Havent really had an opportunity to get out and walk. At the park I had a few races with my daughter and have been playing lots of wii. Which some of them are totally a workout. Hoping to get out for a walk today its a pretty nice day today so it should be pretty easy.

Weighed myself yesterday and it looks like I have lost 5lbs. So thats exciting. But it was a different scale. so I will know for sure when I get home on Monday.

Apparently my husband lost 8 and he has totally been cheating on the diet, so not fair...but its good too.

Thats it for now. Heres to being strong not to eat the junk in the parents house..

Welcome to the forums! I have to say, not touching those chips is a HUGE accomplishment. I don't know if I could do that! It's nice that your husband's trying to lose weight with you. I find that it's always helpful to have someone doing it with you to keep motivating each other!

Dont be jealous of your husband, sometimes it takes a couple weeks for the pounds to pack on after eating junk ...so you never know...

Its good that you guys are losing together
that is wicked awesome ...

keep trecking hun!!

So staying at my parents house, not an easy way to stick to the healthy eating. Easter didnt help either. I admit I did indulge in the chocolate eggs a bit, but not nearly as much as I wanted too.. but im just going to pretend like Sunday didnt happen.

Back home again, and stuck to the diet yesterday, got out for a walk, which was nice. weather is yucky today, stupid snow this morning, i thought we were done with it. at least it didnt stick.

Im considering joing curves, anyone have any good experiences with this place?

I have heard with curves you lose some pounds, but you get used to the exercise and than you stop losing, but you do lose inches .. I had joined Planet fitness ..but I love being outside .. I am a strange chik .. I have walked during a blizzard .. many of them .. u know ... I love walking during blizzards lmao ..just not during rain ..but I got a rain coat with hood at Fashioin Bug ..but curves would probably be a good place to start .. u know
it would get you on your way ..u know

best wishes

the past week has gone pretty well I would say. I have had 3 curves workouts and a walk almost every day inspite of our crazy weather (warm enough for a t-shirt in the sun and then it starts hailing mini snowballs and its still like 10 degrees... Plus its snowed like 4 times in the past week, doesnt stick thank god. weather is totally messed up on this side of the island thats for sure)

Eating is going better, avoiding the crap. I tried to eat sunflower seeds but i get addicted to them and they rubbed the skin off the tip of my tounge.

I think the biggest thing I need to work on right now is portion control.

Good job Amber on Curves and Walking!! Awesome job!!

You will figure out the moderation thing. We all have trouble with it, sometimes some of us, more than others, but you will get the hang of it. It takes time.
