Rep Power: 6 | | wicked witch - no magic, just hard work! Hi! It's Alex.
I'm a newbie here, although I've been reading forum for quite some time... but somehow always sticked to the Before and After part.
More about me in this thread
I'm starting this diary because it turns out that everything I did so far to lose weight wasn’t very smart.
I was on 1200cal/day diet for two months. Appropriete intake for me should be about 1500kcal so I'll be adding 100cal per week to even things out.
I also read the stickied threads in the nutrition forum and had to make some serious chnges in my meal plan, b/c so far my body was geting like 30g protein per day.
So here is my menu for today – comments would be HIGHLY APPRECIATED
1. Home-made blueberry milkshake [cottage cheese, 3/4 glass milk 0.5%fat]
+ 4 walnuts
2. orange
3. Tuna salad with corn (half of the can) + 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise and 1 teaspoon of olive oil
4. apple
5. grilled chicken breast (100g) with string bean (350g)
6. apple
7. omelet (1 egg + 2 whites) with spinach and red pepper
It's a lot of food so I hope that it will keep me away from sweets
Is yolk considered to be a source of good or bad fat ?

Rep Power: 217 | | Every week the opinion of egg yolks seems to change... It's my personal belief that satisfaction overrides a lot of what we should and shouldn't be doing.. If adding an egg yolk to your omelette makes it more satisfying, yet staying within your ranges for the day - then it's a good fat...
As long as your saturated fats for the day are low, then an egg yolk won't hurt you any..
Oh yeah and welcome to your diary - glad you started one and glad you're adding in more calories...
Elphaba, is one of my favorite characters from the Greg Maguire book, Wicked - she was the wicked witch in the wizard of oz and a terribly misunderstood person... not all witches are bad |

I hope no-one thought that I gave up, because I haven't written anything for 2 days
It's due to my rule: not to use computer during the weekends (or at least as rarely as possible)
I have to say that I'm pretty proud of the way I've been earing for past 3 days. I somehow even managed to convince my friends to check out new restaurant than order pizza as usual. That means that insted of pizza I had grilled fish
So no juk food, no sweets for 3 days - that is something
Unfortunately I gained 0.2lbs - I' trying not to freak out, I know that it will take some time for my body to adjust.
So anyway - thanks for stopping by |

Rep Power: 13 | | Our weight loss is similar, similar beginning weights, similar weight loss to date and identical goals... if that isn't a coincidence, what is!
I think you should not get upset about .2 pounds, because that could be anything, like if you didn't pee enough or pooped enough... that would add .2 pounds in no time!
What is your work out routine? I (try to) swim 2 or 3 times a week for 30-45 minutes, plus elliptical for 25 minutes (3 times a week), plus stretches and sit ups (as often as possible, technically every day... only it doesn't always happen!). My tummy muscles have really started to become stronger which is great!
What is the time frame you are giving yourself? When would you like to be done (other than ASAP )? Do you have a motivational goal (like a party, or anything)? Am I annoying you with my constant questioning??
Hope to hear from you, Camy |

ha ha ha No, You are definitely not annoying Quote: |
What is your work out routine?
| I jog (for 3 miles) 4 times a week, and elliptical for 20 minutes at least once a week. I'm also thinking of adding resistance training - but have to read more about it first Quote: |

| We really are similar! My tummy, also feels a little different - which is strange since I mainly jog (my thigns are as fat as they were)... Quote: |

| I haven't really thought about it. But I probably should
It's just that I've been 150ish for so long that it somehow doesn't matter for me when I hit 120. The only important thing is to finaly be in 20's !!!
I have to check out Your diry !!! You're much better organized |

Rep Power: 6 | | I feel good today - I got up at 5:30 AM and did my 3 miles, wihich is great b/c yesterday i had a really rough day, and was so tired that I didn't know if I be able to get up that early today.
But I did - so it's definitely a god day start! /Even though on scales still 140.4 / - I should probably bring my ticekr up to date, but i decided that wednesdey is update day, so it can wait
I know that I shouldn't weight myself every day and expect constant (every-day) progress - but it's a habbit very hard to break.
After extensive reading ha ha hah I decided to start measurements So here it goes:
bust - 36.2"
under breasts - 29.5"
waist - 30"
lower waist - 33.5"
hips - 40.2"
thigh - 23.6"

Rep Power: 11 | | Good for you for still managing to get up and doing the 3 miles. Impressive. I can barely get up and give myself enough time to eat and get out the door in time!
As for weighing yourself every day, that's fine as long as you don't get disheartened. As Camy said your natural bodily functions will swing the weight around in such a short period. If you want to weigh in every day maybe you should then use the weekly average as your goal rather than each individual weigh-in. Just a thought.
Keep up the good work! |

And thanks for the thought - that might be the solution!
On scales 140.1 (which is really good !!!) so there is no need to update the ticker. I decided to start weight training.
I hope it helps me to get a pair of shapely legs. Right now they look like if all fat from bottom up moved over to my thighs

Rep Power: 6 | | OK, I know that this isn't the 'ticker update day' so I won't change it, but I have to say it: I'm in 30's
Well, it's 139.9 to be exact, but still |

As for weight training, this is how my routine looks like: A (3 sets of 15-20 reps)
Front squats 20
Romanians with DB's 15
push - ups 10
Db's Row 10L/10R
Glute bridges 20 ABS crunches 20 B (3 sets of 15-20 reps)
step-ups
Russian twists
Sumo squats
Tricep dips
Dumbbell upright row
Vertical curls
Steve approved so I hope that it'll work
Yesterday was A-day - went quite easy, but today I can barely sit to write this post, I couldn't even open my cupboard to get my coffee ... It's going to be a looooong day |

Rep Power: 13 | | Good that you found yourself a weights routine. I just talked about it yesterday with the man, he thinks I do not need to do weights, I think from what I read on here that it might be good, but I don't even understand the names of them, so first I need to dedicate myself for like a day to figuring out what the heck everyone is, then I would have to experiment and the one thing I hate is to look like I don't know what I am doing when I am at the gym.
Everyone seems so professional and I like walk around, try a machine, can't figure out how it works (not even to unlock it), pull a few times on the blue thingamabob. Nothing happens, so off I wander to find me a new machine... etc...
