Pretty low key last couple of days. This a.m., I am fighting a horrible headache which woke me up on my day off from school and work. Not a good start to the day. I have been doing well with my eating and the new routine of two medium workouts per day have so far have been productive and without a hitch. Only issue I have noticed is on my days I do work and or have school and I do the full 70 minute cardio, I get pretty tired, run out of steam. Just my body getting accustomed to the new routine no doubt. Todays routine is spinning, then weights lower level. Gotta beat this headache, so I don't have a skip a day, as those are truly thorns in my side and I rarely let them happen. As the summer very slowly approaches, here in the midwest, I think I might further mix up my routine and add running, if time, permits. But for now I am doing pretty well and I still am seeing from changes although the scale is saying I am not. Good luck everyone and ty for the feed back about the blizzard. I do appreciate it when people stop by and add thier thoughts, ideas and support. |

Rep Power: 7 | | howdy all, just thought I would do a quick add on to my journal. Things are going well, gonna maintain my diet and continue with my two medium workouts per day on my days off from work and school and on the others maintain regular 60-75 minute session spinning. So far, so good. I have noticed I am running out of steam lately, but I expect as much on my two workout session days. Hope everyone is doing well and making thier own goals. TTYL |

Rep Power: 7 | | hit 165-166lbs today. New low, can't honestly remember when I hit that on the scale, some time. Feeling pretty good, I think the switch in my workout routine, just might be the way to go for now, then in time switch back again, keep my body confused, lol. Well nothing else to share just happy about my weigh in today. Take care and again and as always good luck and have a healthy day. |

Rep Power: 7 | | | gotta love those school order forms for the food we would love to eat, yet know it is not in our best interest. My question is, so I ordered some stuff for my daughters school and it arrived in its glimmering packaging. What now, give it away, or just let it sit there and taunt me, lol. I am hoping a co-worker will accept a gift, a good brown nosing can't hurt.
Okay journal wise: everything is going pretty well. No big issues to discuss today as I am doing fine. The 2-workout sessions a a day on my workout days are great and I feel really refreshed for the most part, but time is a huge issue and with summer coming finally, and the addition of gatherings, outdoor functions, weddings, etc, I am already getting distracted from this routine and will do the best I can.
Have a great day all....

Just reading up on your diary. Tough work not getting anywhere with the scale. Have you taken any measurements to see if there has been any changes there? With all the cycling you've been doing, you might have added a bit to your legs, and lost the same from your waste.
Do you cycle outside, or just on the exercycle. |

Rep Power: 7 | | Hey mate thanks for stopping by my humble area...lol
Well mostly indoor, as the summer comes around I will get more outdoors, and was thinking of running as well.
I am more than likely at a stand still with weight because my legs are way different then they used to be. I got some crazy muscle popping out by my knee cap, and I was thinking to myslef good job mate.. And the more resistance I add the better results I seem to get. (adding the weight training on my legs has been a huge plus, however I noticed lately either my legs weigh more, or someone is playing havack with my resistance knob.)
My body is changing, so I am happy. I can honestly say I am in the best shape of my life and I am 35 years old. I have really been going coo coo on the protien drinks, which I am hoping will help me maintain what muscle I do have and have achieved, and recently have learned (after three months) to take after your workout, something about better absorption. Could be a myth but I will stay with it and see.
As long as I continue to lose even if it is only 2-4 lbs in a month I am fine because I know that I will keep it off. Again ty for stopping by mate. For the longest time except for a peek here and there, just started relaxing on the journal because I just didn't get any feed back and I think that is really important for all of us during this time. |

Rep Power: 42 | | I know what you mean about the feedback. I'm finding that just being on here each day helps keep me in line during the rest of the time. I have a ways to go still, and when I've tried this in the past, this would be just about the time that I would start to slack off, but not this time. This time I have all the people here to answer to.
Are you doing any weight training on your upper body? With the way your legs are taking off, your upper body might want some attention too. Might as well get buff all around. |

lol, I will in time, baby steps. I just added weights to my lower body about 2 weeks ago. It isn't that I won't add upper body eventually. It is just that for me personally to this point my core of losing fat has been the cardio. My ideal plan was to do strictly cardio until I hit my goal weight then add weights, but as with others I got tired of the usual routine so I added weights. Then as time permits I will do a combo of all of the above(cardio, weights upper and lower.)
But baby steps are good, After changing a routine I like to watch my results over a 2-month time, then go from there. Adjust , add or remove accordingly.
Today is a cycle/weights day gonna really try to push the envelope as tomorrow is an off day. Wish me luck mate and good job on your progress, I will visit your journal and touch base. |

Rep Power: 7 | | A quick side note, physically, my body feel like I was in a brawl lost night and lost horribly. legs, back, just a general overall soreness. I would like to say well you should see the other guy, but I have a feeling my new workout routine is the one to blame for this beating.... Be strong Kevin!!!! |

Rep Power: 7 | | Hello you infamous journal. Well well, what to do , what to say. I think I am really getting the eating and exercise part down, this is a time where I reflect and remember what got me here. No way am I going to start slacking now.
Went to my exes house for my daughters birthday party, so I wasn't tempted by all the goodies, I brought my own dinner, and plenty of water, wow it really worked. No cake, no pizza. I am pretty happy with that, and I didn't even look back.
Today is a non workout day, which is great, because like my other post indicated, I feel like I got run over by a semi-truck. Not feeling sick or anything, just been trying to step it up in the workouts lately, and I think it finally caught up to me.
Tomorrow on the other hand is an interesting day. Workout, gp to work, come home and workout. Happy Mothers Day to all of the mothers, tomorrow if I don't write. Take care all. No change on the scale the last couple of days, more than likely a combo of losing fat, gaining muscle. Overall feelin' groovy.

Well it was one of those interesting days, you know this and that. My resistance strap broke on my bike on my 2nd workout, and of course the company said the part is on backorder. So time to go shopping tomorrow. Ugh
oh well, maybe it will be a blessing. Not alot to say, just kinda bummed. I was going coo-coo and all of a sudden it felt like I was pedaling in the air...lol strap was in shreads. Hope everyone else is doing well and having slightly better luck than I am. Wish me luck.....Hope I don't get a lemon.

Rep Power: 7 | | | Went shopping, not happy with the selection of bikes I saw this evening. So I will scratch today as an off workout day. I have the day off tomorrow so first thing I will check out some more shops and hopefully come home with a new ride that may better suit my new addiction. (upgrade). Other than that felt really good looking at the scale this morning, the last two-three days there hasn't been any fluctuation on the scale just a solid 165, that is a really good sign to me. I am feeling really good about it.
just a side not, the people on this site are amazing, won't embarrass anyone by pointing any fingers, but you are truly an amazing group of people, and I am very glad to have found this site.
I will keep anyone who reads this informed on the bike/weight progress. take care everyone.
Although I was disappointed not to get a new bike, for some reason I am on cloud nine tonight, just in really good spirits about alot of things.P.S I would be out and about on my real bike, but the weather here calls for spring showers, and I am a fair weather fella. Like the sun, the water, people watching etc.

Rep Power: 79 | | nothing like a brown sugar person (melts in the water). I too am one of those. I may cycle up to 250km a week, but if its raining you can be sure ill be still in bed that morning!
I have a wind trainer i set my bike up on, it works nicely so i can listen to my music on my ipod and rock along on the bike. Unfortunatly my new bike had a problem and now im waiting on a part, luckily i hadnt sold my old bike yet, and i have 2 other spare bikes around (daughters and sons ones who also now got into cycling!). |

Rep Power: 7 | | so I tried to be Mr. Handyman/homemaker today. I decided to rebuild a strap for my bike, and no jokes but went to a fabric store got the needed materials. I did pretty well, however I did recruit some family members to do some of the sewing. (not my best subject) and assembled a brand spanking new strap. However, just didn't feel the same as the original, go figure. So tomorrow as you can guess I am going to get a new bike. Just gonna have to bite my lower lip and just pick one, something about replacing your "first" exercise love. Gonna have to tough it up, wipe the tears away from my cheek and just move on. At least I know what to look for and I know what I liked and disliked about the old bike, well three months isn't that old, but you get the point. I miss it, I miss sweating like a pig after a great workout, I am gonna burn a whole in my shoes when I finally get the new bike assembled, lol. Diet is going great, and honestly, I haven't taken two days off from biking since I started and I think my legs are saying a big thank you. So I hope they got some rest, because hell is coming and I am going to love it. Take care everyone sorry for the rambling. Just excited for tomorrow. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
