Rep Power: 7 | | | So my journal begins..... Hi gang, I have decided to start the infamous journal. Any tips or ideas of how to start one, if I don't have any guidance I am like a lost puppy. Brief summery: I started devoting myself to better health habits after realizing I didn't like what I saw in the mirror. At that time I was weighing in the 190lbs range. This was two and a half months ago and now tip the scale to a more reasonable 169.
I am on what I call the 6-pack plan. When I see them, time to adjust to weight training. My fitness routine:
Indoor/outdoor cycling as weather permits.
Three days on of 30-50 miles depending on lvl of difficulty.
On the third day/ I also add weight training on my legs. Example of food intake, using today as a reference: Meal 1:
English Muffin with approx 1 tsp total spread very thin, bland but better than plain, along with a Mineola (mix between an orange and a tangerine), whey protein Drink. Meal 2:
Lean ham sandwich on 7-grain bread with mustard. Another Mineola, and 10 Doritoes, my bad, my bad. Meal 3:
2 turkey hotdogs on crust removed 7-grain bread. Medium sized salad, lettece, tomato, onions, green peppers, carrots, very light dressing . Meal 4:
Small can of Solid white Tuna (water, not oil) Added a banana not the best combo. 1 protein drink Consumed approx. 1 gallon of water.
I had the day off today so I consumed more than I usually do,unfortunately, I think this is where my calories should fall just can not do that at work. |

Rep Power: 7 | | Are you stalking me? Just kidding, lol. Thanks for the encouragement. Yeah I am guessing the loss of energy lately is a matter of burning too many calories. The next week my goal is to, do a food diary, add up the calories and see where I am as an average, and make adjustments accordingly. I love this site, and the people are amazing. Thank you for the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions.
Just getting used to the whole diary thing. I am hoping it will only add to my experience, what I don't want the journal to do is get me obsessed with things, I want my new lifestyle to be a lifelong venture, I have never been on a diet, never counted calories, pretty much ate what I wanted, when I wanted to. I should be thankful I was only tipping the scale at 190. Others aren't so lucky.
Just a odd thought. Anyone else notice eating healthy cost more at the grocery store than eating unhealthy? Or is it just me? |

Rep Power: 7 | | | Just thinking out loud, if anyone need a support partner or would like to set up a team to help each other I am all for it. I am not one to sit and chat with myself about my goals and ideas, as I already know them and hold myself accountable. If anyone out there would like to act as a support system, just give me a shout. |

Serving size of Beef Jerky, actually half a serving my daughter liked it, lol. Meal 5:
Whey Protein Drink.
Water intake 3/4 gallon Workout: 42 miles on bike, felt good.
Did okay would like to get more veggies in , and gonna change over to turkey or chicken when my ham package is done. Also getting sick of 7-grain gonna switch to whole wheat for a loaf and rotate. Would like to get 1-gallon of water in a day. Went to the grocery store today, can I just say that is hard. Seeing all the goodies, donuts, cookies, ice cream, chesses, ugh. I have a long work day tomorrow, so my intake of 5 meals will be reduced to 4. Not much more to say still losing weight. Feeling good about my goals, just need to follow through. |

Rep Power: 7 | | hey gang, took a couple days off the journal. I find myself sitting here, staring at the screen nothing exciting to share, no change in weight the last few days, so just feeling kinda blah. I have been eating well, gonna change up my diet a bit here and there, and start working out 2 medium cardio's a day instead of 1 long session. maybe that will "spark" something to continue my weight loss. I am told the last 10 pounds are the hardest, and my response to that is tell that to a person who is trying to lose 100lbs. It's raining out, just one of those days. Hope everyone has a great day. |

Been very busy lately with work so I apologize for falling behind in my diary. Things are still going well, tomorrow I am officially gonna switch my cardio routine to 2 medium spins per workout day. On my long days at work I will still do my usual long session after work in the evening. Food wise things are going really well, finally did switch from ham to Turkey, change is good. Other than that still doing fairly well. Kinda stuck in a stand still on the scale, so I am gonna see if my workout change does anything to spark things up again. Adding weights in my workout routine, could also be affecting the scale, I am still seeing positive results with my measurements. Nothing else new to share today. Good luck to everyone trying to live a happy healthy life. |

Rep Power: 7 | | Damn you Diary Queen. Okay so I went to see my daughter's choir concert at school tonight, and decided for such a great job, we would go out for a treat. I figured just because I am watching my weight and counting calories, the kids shouldn't be hurt in the process. Bad move. I just couldn't resist tonight, so I got a small Heath Blizzard. The funny part gang is, when you don't have treats or nothing like that in a long time 3 months or so, it tastes, honestly kinda gross. Not sure what is was, but since changing my diet and eating better the first chunk of heath candy bar tasted gross. At first I thought maybe it was old candy, so had my son try it, nope he thought is tasted really good. So the good news is I didn't eat it all, the bad news is I had it in the first place. Other than that things are going pretty well. Still at a stand still on the scale, but as I mentioned in my previous post I changed my workout routine to hopefully shake things up a bit, gonna give it at least a couple of weeks to see what there are any changes. Have a great day. |

Rep Power: 7 | | okay just gonna shout this out, two medium workouts feel great. I just hope I can maintain on my work days, not a big fan of waking up too early, lol. I now get 25 miles per spin session, 50 miles not bad, but I am gonna go broke on fruits to replenish carbs... Still thinking about lastnight and the Heath Blizzard, really felt good to try a treat after all this time and realize I don't miss it after all. Left a pretty gross after taste too, which is music to my ears. Instead of writing my daily food journal etc, thought I would use this journal for more of the mental aspect of this journey. Things are going good, only thing really bothering me right now, is finding as much info as I can about healthy eating and exercise and weeding out all the crap. Oh one odd thing on my second session spinning, my right leg felt like a muscle was in a constant contracting mode, hard to explain, yet painful. Best way to describe it is say your doing a curl with a dumbell and when you lower the arm your bicep is still contracted as if you were still on the upword motion, now imagine that on a leg, while biking. It was odd, and it is still kinda tender, any sport doctors out there with a thought or idea of what it might be? Have a great day and I hope everyone is doing well and reaching thier goals. |

Rep Power: 24 | | | Don't worry too much about the DQ blizzard, having one once in 3 months probably won't do that much damage.
WElcome to your journal and awesome job on establishing and keeping your goals in mind with everything. It's so hard sometimes to continue to see the bigger picture. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
