Oy. Back from a trip and back on track! I've been stalled out for about a month now (between 190 and 193 lbs). I won't say I "plateaued" because I know perfectly well that I haven't been eating and exercising right. But at least I've been maintaining. So now my goal weight might not be reachable by the end of the year. That's a little depressing, but not the end of the world.
So I'm starting up again officially today. I've been easing back in since Monday when I got back from DC. I'm hoping for a big loss this week to get me started!
Mad-rissa-ness, I was thinking about you just yesterday. I was thinking that I really have to get into my hives and that reminded me that I haven't heard from you in a while. I figured that I'd drop you a line today, but here you are. back from vacation. How was it?
Ok, I'm seriously back. I have internet access at my house again, so there shouldn't be any issues with my keeping up!
I got my first comb honey by the way! YUMMY! But my stupid queen is laying eggs up in that tiny little super!?!? Most of the frames are full of grubs - only 2 were "clean". I thought the queens wouldn't lay in such a small space? Ah well, live and learn. My other hive has an excluder - I was testing both methods.
So my weigh in from last week was 189.8 lbs! I think I might have finally really broken the 190 mark. I'm really dedicated and now that I can easily track calories, I should be golden. I really could have tracked calories on my own without a program...guess I'm still want things to be easy though!
I've simplified my goals a bit. My schedule is CRAZY for the next few months, so the totals are more important than making sure I have a certain number of aerobics classes or something.
From what I understand about comb honey (Ross rounds or the like) it's all about population. You need to be teaming with bees, but not so many that they want to swarm. I did some cut comb that came out wonderfly.
Thanks! It's good to be back on track. Sucks that I "should" be over 10 pounds lighter if I had just kept up, but at least I maintained and I don't have to lose just to get back going. Gotta just keep moving forward!
Yeah, I put the comb honey super (cut comb) on top of the really active hive. I was worried about them swarming this year, but I never saw any queen cells. Right before we had a huge flower explosion, I put the super on. It's nice and full of honey...but also brood! Those little suckers...
I have one hive like that. More bees then room. I'd hate to see a swarm, especially at this time of the year. I have to get in there and do some moving things around with a weaker hive.
Holy crap. When entering in my dinner and late night snacks yesterday, I was annoyed that I went over budget a bit. I ate about 1800 calories. But I knew I had been pretty active that day, so I figured that my bodybugg would report at least 2800 and I would still hit the 1000 calorie difference. My stupid computer at home now has Vista 64 bit which is, of course, incompatible with the bb. So I had to wait until getting to work to download my calories burned. 3800. Yep, 3800 calories. I went for a 2 mile run in the morning and then spent the next 8 hours working around the 'homestead' - chipping branches, hauling mulch uphill in a bucket (wheelbarrow tire is flat!) and weeding and planting in the garden. Wow.
So....how's a 2000 calorie deficit sound? No wonder I was ravenous when I woke up!
