Congrats on the pounds lost Lily...and also sounds like your doing ok with the eating ...
I know what you mean about fighting with yourself to exercise. I just about have that most days. But now I have Derek and I am making him go walking with me. I have to walk to Hannafords tomorrow and buy groceries in the afternoon, thats a few miles away, back and forth, total about six miles, not bad. And I plan to get a big amount of groceries ... so the bag carrying should be interesting, including a Gallon of milk, which I think I will make him carry!!! lmao ... well he is my man and he can do it ... well I can do it too, but they are so Akward to carry, and three to four miles back, I will let the man do that work .. I plan to buy Zero Cola ... a splurge...
Sometimes half splurges ok, but try to keep track of your food and compare to your caloric deficit and figure out how many calories you are putting on ...
keep trecking hun!
Congrats on walking so much!
and I know you can do it!
and the reason you might be eating and forgetting, is because your meds are appetite increasers, so I used to just eat and not know why. I felt hungry all the time ...
good on you for doing this!
You are making a very important step into a healthier you! and a long life ..
love yas

oh man don't I know it. I think I also just get bored and decide to eat whatever I find just to fill the time.
I had salmon pasta salad for dinner. (this consists of a half packet of salmon (the small packet) a cup and a half of mini bowtie pasta, and a tablespoon of lite caesar dressing)
It was oh so good...
I don't know how to burn that many calories in one day... It seems impossible. How do you do it?
night folks!!

ARGHH!!!!!!!!!! I kind of fell off the bandwagon today.
I didn't exercise because I had to complete a scholarship application (which I still haven't quite finished yet) and I had to get two letters of endorsement (by Friday)
I went grocery shopping and then (of course) had dinner at chick-fil-a.
I did have a diet lemonade instead of regular lemonade... and a sugar free jello.
Not as bad as I would have thought.
My mom did compliment me and said that you can tell I'm losing weight. I'm so happy.
Meh. Anyway... I couldn't get up the willpower to walk today. I feel so crappy about it.
Anyone have any tips for strengthening will power?
I could sure use some help.

EVERYONE falls off the bandwagon at some point, only difference this time is that you'll climb straight back on and stay on it
You know you can do it.
Just do what I do - when I go to eat something crappy like a chocolate bar or crisps I just think "what good is this gonna do? NONE! I will feel full for like, 5 minutes, then the nice taste in my mouth will wear off and I'll just have eaten 250 empty cals. Why not replace it with something that will do me good AND taste nice?" Orrrrrr just think of how amazing you're gonna look at 150 instead of 226, and that can be the motivation.
If you HAVE to have junk food then don't deny yourself it, just try having it just once a week on a Friday or Saturday as a reward for doing so well the rest of the week.
Just some ideas and I am by no means an expert, it's just what works for me

Hmmm, I'm a bit wary of using food as a reward of any sort...
But I do agree that you should officially allow yourself little treats... not because you ate so well the rest of the week, but coz EVERYBODY deserves little treats

:P I had chinese food for breakfast. haha... just about a cup, maybe a cup and a half.
Overall, I had a good day today... I walked 2.73 miles on the treadmill, even though I was so tired I took like 4 breaks just to feel the air conditioning on my face. I did have a steak and cheese sub(plain, no mayo) for dinner, but this time I didn't have any fries.
It rained really bad here. There were tornado warnings out all day, but finally the system moved on... right to where my dad works. It took him 3 hours to get home, when usually it only takes one. He said the commute was one of the most frustrating drives he's ever taken. But everyone's okay, so I guess it's all good.
Did anyone watch Dr.Phil today? "too heavy too young" was the name of the episode.
It was crazy... I don't think my mom and dad are really like any of the parents on there, although I would have liked to grow up healthier. But no matter, I'm changing it now and thats all that matters.
Thanks for your advice karmann!
Are you by any chance from Europe? I don't think I've heard anyone where I'm from call them crisps, we call them chips. haha... not like it matters.
I really appreciate all your support you guys!

Heehee, Karmanns from England They call 'em crisps... You know what they call fries though?? CHIPS!
And I'm serious.
hahaha
I haven't eaten anything yet, I just got up, but I have to work really hard on this scholarship application because it's due tomorrow.
Gah... I hate procrastinating.

Yea in Canada we have "Fish and Chips" restaurants, but we generally call fries fries. Unless your having fish and chips haha. Chips though (crisps or whatever) are the devil. My worst nightmare. I have the hardest time saying no to them when they are anywhere near me. Most people get sugar cravings... but me?!? I get SALT cravings! It's horrible really!
Anyways your doing great girl. You've lost 3 lbs. stick to it!!! You will be glad you did in the end
I've got some motivation ideas... take some before pics and some measurements and then take some new pics once a months and measurements either once a month or every two weeks. You will be motivated to stay on track cus you want to see the pics look better and the inches come off in the next month!

Oh man me too. it's the doritos that get me. Oh those cheesy chips are amazing and absolutely horrible at the same time.
What are the foods that you guys find hardest to resist?

What are the guidelines for measuring?
Oh yeah, I weighed in this morning at 223.1 lbs, but then later I was back at 226.
When should I be weighing in for the most accurate weight? It's so frustrating.
:P Anyway, I need to get on the treadmill again, I spent all day working on getting this scholarship thing.

The same time of day and state of dress / undress. Accuracy doesn't matter - it's impossible to get a scale reading that isn't affected by meaningless factors beyond your control - but consistency does.

oh, okay. Thanks!
My ex principal is kind of screwing me over, I need a letter of endorsement and I asked her on Monday, and she said she'd give it to my mom (who is a teacher at the same school) on Thursday. She hasn't gotten back in touch with me and I'm getting a little anxious that I won't meet the deadline.
Oi!
I got my scholarship application done, got my cap and gown too.
sheesh I need to exercise.
weighed in at 224.5
Still a good loss!!
Does anyone know where to measure?
