So, back to the tanning... Do you work at a tanning salon? Do you do the airbrush or do they have high pressure beds or anything? I've never done the airbrush but it's always been intriguing... I usually do the ruva or ultraruvas, and just barely started doing the standup beds. I've always been one of those peeps with the "lines" but not lately, hehe...
-Sam | I own a tanning salon... We don't have airbrush or high pressure. I'm not a fan of the airbrush (I can always tell it's been done) and high pressure beds aren't worth the price the customer pays (IMO) so we just have good ol' Ultra Ruva, Ruva and Wolff. We also have a WONDERFUL Hydromassage bed! MY FAVORITE! You will definitely have to stop by next time you're down that way... Quote: |

Not to mention the possible risk of skin cancer.
I do have to admit though, having a tan is so fabulous. The spray on's only last a week though and are expensive!! I apply my own tan now at home, have some good stuff. Funny though, I only "put on the tan" when I have an event. lol Too bad the stuff stinks at first too. | Yeah I hate the smell of self tanners, I have tried them all and I can ALWAYS smell them... not to mention, if I sweat, they come off on my bra...
Skin cancer doesn't scare me because it is the most curable form of cancer, if caught early, so I just make sure to get any suspicious spots checked quickly. Besides, Melanoma is actually found mostly in people with office jobs (and usually in spots not even exposed to the sun) so they are still trying to decide if there is really a link at all to the sun and Melanoma.
I could do without the wrinkles though... Although I coached at a high school last year and was always getting in trouble for being in the halls so I must not look TOO old ha ha! Plus I know MJ has some great products for me!
Anyway, enough about tanning; don't want to start any feuds in my diary lol. I'm actually in the process of combining my two businesses by bringing my property management company into the same space as my tanning salon and firing a girl that is stealing from the salon AND my salon manager has been on vacation for 5 days and still has 3 left (the nerve of some people! jk) SO I've been swamped with sh** to do today and haven't had a chance to get to everyone's diaries... I promise I'm thinking about all of you and wishing you the best though so don't forget about me. I'LL BE BACK!!

Rep Power: 23 | | That is so awesome your a salon owner! I would definitely stop by for a tan I'm not a big fan of the airbrush either, even tho I've never really done it. I go to the gym too much and workout too much, I'm sure I would sweat it all of within a day or two... Plus I feel like it would stain my clothes and stuff... So I'm not really a fan without really trying it, LOL... I do like me a Ruva or an UltraRuva, my skin responds really well to those imo. Wolfs usually fry me like a lobsta tho, hehe... Hydramassage sounds cool too, perhaps I would have to give that a whirl as well. You will totally have to get rid of that girl who is stealing from you! That sucks. When I was in highschool I worked at Papa Murphys and the owners were friends of mine and lived in the neighborhood. A few employees were caught stealing there and it was disgusting. They were like lifting money from the registers and stuff. I'm like you KNOW the owners, they were friends of yours! It's so sad....
Anyways, have a great nite!

Rep Power: 19 | | Some random Flaxseed info for ya
• Flax is an ancient crop that was used as a food source as far back as 3000 B.C.
• Hippocrates wrote of using flaxseed for the relief of abdominal pain.
• Charlemagne, considered flax so healthy that he passed laws requiring its consumption.
• Modern day researchers believe that the lignans, fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids (EFA's) found in ground flax seed are essential to good health.
• The body does not produce essential fatty acids (EFA's) i.e. Linolenic acid and Linoleic acid and, as a result, they must be supplied through diet. Ground Flax Seed is rich in EFA's.
• Un-ground flax seed is not digestible and, as a result, it will not supply the body with the necessary lignans or ALA. To be effective, flax seed must be ground before it is ingested
• For optimum nutrient value, use ground flax seeds instead of flax oil. Flax oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, but it does NOT contain the beneficial lignans and fiber. The lignans and fiber are removed in the production process.
• Flax seed contains both soluble and insoluble fiber. About one-third of the fiber in flax seed is soluble. soluble fiber can aid in lowering cholesterol and regulating blood sugar levels.
• Two-thirds of the fiber in flax seed is insoluble. Insoluble fiber aids digestion by increasing bulk and preventing constipation. These characteristics seem to have a role in reducing incidents of colon cancer.
• Ground Flax Seed is rich in protein, B vitamins, vitamin E, beta-carotene, calcium, potassium, magnesium, manganese and zinc.
• The fiber benefits of flax seed can only be found in the ground flax seed.
• Typical ground flax seed intake - 25 to 30 grams / day.
• Always purchase whole flax seed - Avoid purchasing ground flax seed - its potency may be diminished due to improper handling and storage.
• Flax seed contains anti-oxidants that keep the oil and pulp fresh within the seed. Flax seed should be kept "whole" until immediately prior to use.
• Processed foods take energy to digest. Whole foods provide energy and nutrients during and after digestion.
• Flax seed is easily ground using a Coffee Grinder, Grain Grinder, Blender, Bamix etc. |

Anyways, have a great nite! -Sam | Yeah it's amazing that people will steal from such a small company! You would think they would know it's pretty easy to tell someone is stealing... it's not like I'm a Wal-mart lol. If a lotion is missing or tanning hours don't match up, obviously someone is stealing! But.... I fired her a** this morning so no more worries. I was trying to wait til tomorrow night so that I wouldn't have to work for her, with my manager being out of town, but no such luck. She tried telling me this morning that she wouldn't be able to find a ride this afternoon to work so I just told her to not bother coming in anymore lol. Quote: |

Vegas is just around the corner right? | Yes it is and my surgery is right around a CLOSER corner! I need to be down about 25 pounds in just 8 weeks! SO.... you will be very proud of me! I got up and got my weight training and cardio out of the way this morning! Good thing, cuz now I have to go into work tonight from 3-8:30.
Thanks for the flaxseed info! Do flaxseed oil pills work the same? That's what I used to take...
Trained glutes today... Gotta get the jiggle off! Standing One Leg Press (assisted dip machine) 3x20 Intensity 18 Cable Lunge (low pulley cable) 3x15 Intensity 4 Cable Straight Leg Kickback (low pulley cable) 3x15 Intensity 22 Cable Glute/Ham Raise (back extension bench and low cable) 3x10/12 Intensity 4/5 Cardio- Elliptical 20 min Kept heart rate around 160-165 Level 3
I'm going to pack all my food today so I'm not tempted to mess up while at work. I only have 8 weeks to get 25 pounds off! Gotta get focused! Besides, gotta help TEAM HOOTERS kick some Playmate BOOTY!
Already got 32 ounces of water down. Considering starting my old fat burning stack...
Well off to everyone else's diaries! |

Rep Power: 19 | | | I think point number 7 compares oil vs ground flaxseed.
Basiclly you dont get the fiber benefits, but still some benefits. Honestly, throwing some ground flaxseed in a shake you wont even notice it. |

Rep Power: 23 | | Good thing you fired her. People are so stupid... Hopefully your employees in the future are more honest and dont' have sticky fingers.
Way to go on that weight training and cardio! I was so asleep this morning, then I had to get into work early again to cover for everyone... I feel like that is all I do lately, is cover for others who want time off this summer. I'm like what the hell? I want a summer break too!!! Oh well, I'm laughing all the way to the bank with all the OT I'm getting.... I just feel like sometimes I don't have enough of a life, hehe.... Keeps me outta trouble, right?
25lbs in 8 weeks is definitely do-able. Hard work ahead for sure. Good thinking packing your food to take to work with you. I'm trying to do that lately too... Temptation is everywhere tho!!

| I will give it a try... I don't have any problems with "regularity" lol but I guess a little extra fiber can't hurt. |

Thankfully, right now I have 3 great employees and, when I move my property management office into the salon, it will help me run both businesses more efficiently. Quote:

The employees I hate are the ones that always want someone to work for them but never return the favor! LOL [/quote] Quote: |

| Yeah it's gonna be tough but I can do it... One thing I've noticed that's good about my bodytype is that I see the same results as someone else in about half the time if I just put my mind to it... cardio is my weakness. I should be doing 2 sessions a day and I can barely do one... I absolutely HATE cardio! And yes, temptation IS everywhere. There is a Burger King in the same parking lot as my salon so when I'm there, if I don't have my food packed, I head right over to Burger King and get a Whopper meal LARGE size with a coke...not good lol.
Guess I SHOULD mention I'm down 2 pounds this morning! Those PLAYMATES better watch out! Off to change my ticker...
