Rep Power: 26 | | So... I've been doing okay on the cardio, weights and bonus for the Vegas Challenge. I hate doing ab work cuz my ab muscles just stick out further lol... that will all change soon though (surgery) so it's all good.
I haven't been doing so hot on the eating though... packed all my food for the day and then STILL ended up eating Burger King for lunch... WTF is that?
I'm going back to my "JUST FOR TODAY" motto... Just for today I'm going to eat healthy... everything planned, nothing more, nothing less... |

Rep Power: 10 | | lol ah that happened a few weeks back with my trainer...I brought my roommate along with me to the gym and he asked if she wanted to work with us....ok granted she's a former marine and in much better shape and it was amazingly intense with a bit of competition....but the next few days...my god...it sucked...
I'd like to replace the fat in my ass with muscle lol yes I know it doesnt work that way but if it could move less when I walked that would be fantastic haha |

Rep Power: 19 | | My glutes were definately sore from my lower body workout on saturday. Lunges can really work the glutes. |

Pretty hard on my one knee though so I do them a little modified.... Have you seen the glute workout Sensa is talking about? It's kinda untraditional but I loved it! In one of the exercises you actually use the assisted dip/pullup machine, pushing down with your heel... that one definitely got my booty! LOL |

Rep Power: 23 | | I love lunges for some reason. I feel like they really do a lot for the front of my legs. I usually do them up and down this ramp at my gym, 3 sets, sometimes more. I used to hate them but have grown to love them. Squats are another story.... I still hate those, and my ass usually kills me for a good few days after I do them. Pain is beauty tho they say ..... Back when I used to do plyometrics with my trainer, they had my legs/glutes killing me for days.
Damn that BK!!! I have one by my house and it's easy to go over there and order off their dollar menu in a rush. I try not to do it anymore tho. Whoever came up with their Rodeo Cheeseburger tho should be slapped because it's so yummy....

Here it is again... http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...eexercises.jpg Standing One Leg Press (on assisted pull-up/dip machine)
Keeping your abs engaged, press down through your heel to extend your leg until your working foot is level with the other. Hold for one count, then release, in a controlled manner, back to the starting position. 3x15-20 per leg. Stationary Cable Lunge (use standard cable crossover machine. Use the roped handle or straight bar)
descend straight down until your front knee forms a 90-degree angle and your back knee nearly touches the floor. Squeezing your legs and glutes, press back up to the starting position. 3x15-20 per leg. (I personally like this type of lunge because I have a bad knee and these don't irritate it like regular lunges or walking lunges do.) Cable Straight-leg Kickback (cable crossover machine with an ankle attachment)
Keeping your abs engaged, bring your working leg as far forward as you can without letting the weight stack touch down, then flex your foot, contract your glutes and hams and drive through your heel to push your leg behind you. Hold the top position for 3-5 seconds. 3x15-20 per leg. Cable Glute-Ham Raise (use back extension bench and cable crossover machine)
Pull yourself up using your hamstrings and glutes until your body forms a straight line. From there, keep pulling yourself up slowly by bending your knees and raising your torso until it's perpendicular to the floor. 3x12-15 *All above information taken from Muscle & Fitness Hers July/Aug 2008

-Sam | Lunges are GREAT for the booty! LOL I just have to do them in place... I can't do walking. Basically I just stand in the lunge position and do all my reps on one leg then switch... it still works great and doesn't irritate my knee as much... I hope someday my leg will be strong enough to just do everything it used to do...
And the funniest part of BK is that I don't particularly even like it. I just eat it cuz it's there. I think I purposely sabatoge myself. My daughter LOVES that Rodeo burger lol! |

Rep Power: 11 | | | If I could combine BK's burgers with McDonald's fries and make them magically healthy... I'd be in heaven.
The "just for today" thing is a great mindset, Paula. I used it to quit smoking. I couldn't think about not smoking for any length of time without going insane. So I just had to get through that particular day. I will never start again for the sole reason I couldn't bear to have to go through all of that another time. |

I really need to focus on the Just For Today... I was doing so well a couple of weeks ago... Then I let myself slip back into the bad eating habits and now I'm STUCK! I was doing really well to and FEELING GREAT! You'd think that would motivate me enough to get back on the wagon...
Sometimes I just get so mad at myself cuz it's honestly 25 pounds, that's it! That's so easy if I just set my mind to it! Quote: |

Hell yeah buns of steel for Vegas!!! WHOO HOO!!! Use pretty heavy weight on that dip machine and REALLY push through the heel... it's a little weird and I wasn't sure if it did much, but the next day I KNEW! LOL!
