Rep Power: 19 | | I got another exercise for you while your re-cooping. It's an x-rated one! LOL
Kegel exercises are also known as pelvic floor exercises, or simply Kegels. Performing Kegels
A popular way to identify the pelvic muscles in men and women is to stop the flow of urine midstream. This is accomplished by contracting the pelvic floor muscles. Restarting the flow of urine is accomplished by releasing the pelvic floor muscles. Once identified this way, the pelvic floor muscles can be contracted and released independently of controlling urination. Kegels are most frequently performed in sets. Here are a few techniques:
* Quick pumps: do 15 reps of quick pumps, pause for 30 seconds and repeat. Start at 15 and work your way up to 100 reps two times a day.
* Hold and release: contract the muscle slowly and hold for 5 seconds, release slowly. Work your way to at least 25 reps two times a day.
* Elevator: slowly contract 1/3 of the way, pause, then 2/3 of the way, pause, then all the way. Do 10 reps two times a day. Benefits for women
Factors such as pregnancy, childbirth, aging and being overweight, and abdominal surgery such as cesarean section, often result in the weakening of the pelvic muscles. Kegel exercises are useful in regaining pelvic floor muscle strength in such cases. Sexual function
Regular Kegel exercise can also increase sexual pleasure for the woman and her male partner. It is said that such exercises make the vagina tighter. Also, after childbirth, practicing pelvic floor contractions during vaginal sex will allow the woman immediate feedback from her partner, who can tell her whether they can feel her muscles tightening. A newly postpartum woman—who has yet to return to sexual intercourse—can retrain her pelvic floor muscles to their pre-pregnancy strength and tone by inserting two or three fingers, or a dildo into her vagina and squeezing them with pelvic floor contractions. Specially designed barbells and weighted insertable devices are available for this purpose.

I'm so glad to hear your surgery went well and that your doing well in recovering. I think your plan sounds good. It's know it's hard to take it easy for so long after the surgery but it helps eliminate any complications and lets your body fully focus on healing. I think you will look amazing by the time you go to Vegas. Your stomach will be ripped for sure, you had surgery to ensure that I think you will be able to get in plenty of exercise when it's finally time to start back up again. Don't worry honey, your going to be a knockout! Have you been watching the Olympics while you've been resting?
Take Care,

Rep Power: 42 | | Paula, this might sound crazy, but there is a lot of evidence that video games help the healing process. It has something to do with the video tricking the brain into thinking that the body is active while not hurting the part that is healing. Also, from what I've seen it kills time like nothing else. |

I was actually enjoying being able to be on the computer while in bed but not now... back to the lifetime movies lol... thanks for stopping by Trops! I feel so priveleged!
So.... I just wanted to jump on real quick and say that I've been pushing myself too hard the past couple of days and it got to me. I am sore and swollen and depressed because I just want to be up and moving 100% already lol... I have spent today in bed, on pain killers, loathing in self pitty... okay not loathing but still ha ha... anyway, like I said above MAYBE I will take "1 Week Pics" tonight and post those along with the before. Even though I'm still really swollen, the difference is pretty obvious.
Sorry to everyone for not going to your threads today, just trying to stay in bed so I better get back in there lol... I will visit soon though... Take care. |

Rep Power: 26 | | Hi Jess and Sam, thanks for stoppin' by! I think I have now officially seen ALL of those shows I can stand for a while...
I'm standing straight now so maybe now my lower back will stop hurting lol! My abs hurt right down the middle; right where they were stitched but that's about it... I plan on going on easy walks starting monday. I know they said 6 weeks til weight training but I'm going to play it by ear. I might started in a couple of weeks. I think there are definitely body parts I could work on that wouldn't be too hard on my abs, especially if I'm using light weight... we'll see. I'm just ready to get my body in AMAZING shape! I mean like fitness competitor shape!
I've decided to post pics finally. These pics are from before surgery and 1 week later.... I will continue to take update pics every week for a few weeks. The doctor said it could take as long as 9 months for the FULL effects of the surgery to show. There is still A LOT of swelling but it's crazy that I'm THAT swollen and STILL FLATTER than I started lol... Here are the pics:
