Idahogirl - I'm actually eating egg whites all the time. I skip the yolk (mostly because I've never liked them by themselves anyway, which helps) but it's a really lean source of protein. I eat a lot of chicken, light fish and turkey, too. Tons of fruits, veggies and water. My carbs are generally potatoes, rice & oatmeal. There's tons you can do with those 3, though!
Hey Cabbie - not that the drive isn't there - what he wants isn't physically possible at the moment! But it was something that I never really considered before because it was out of my realm of possibility. Get creative! The main thing I wanted you to get from that is there's 2 parts of her thought process that you could be a part of. The realizing of the problem and the choice to take action about it. I say choose to help with the latter

Jo, you are very lucky to have a marriage like that. I am married, but I still have none of those things. I feel like I did in my 20's, being a self-motivator. I know it's a good thing in some ways, but it really sucks since I have a so that it has to be that way and it's yet another reason the big d is on the horizon. If not for 3 children and one special needs and the 10 friggin years I've stayed home, it would have happened a lot sooner.
Anyway, enough of my problems. It's so good to have someone like that. I count on my friends to help in that department, but still...I miss an intimate relationship with someone. Ok, feeling sorry for myself is done for the day. I think you are going to do awesome, Jo! Keep at it! We are at similar places and goals so I keep up with you and a few others especially! Fun to watch us traveling that road together!

I hope everything works out for you - divorce is something I can admit I have no experience with, I'm a rare case where my parents and my husband's parents are actually still together. I know my mom has filed once, though, but she tried to keep me and my sibs in the dark. Friends that I do know that have split always seemed happier after the fact, though, so best of luck!
Holding fast this week at 204 - looking to break 200 by my birthday. Blew it this weekend, went to mexican place with my sister and had a burger & fries with a friend. I'm back on today though! And I definitely paid for it, which is never fun... Got smart and made another batch of oatmeal muffins so I've got something healthy to snack on. That seems to be my biggest challenge is finding something that hits the spot that isn't bad for me!
Got to drive home and outrun the giant storm that was sweeping the country. I've never driven that particular route without seeing cops but I sure did yesterday! I managed to shave 1/2 hr off a 3 1/2 hr trip! Now if I could only speed up everything else in my life!

Down another 2 - - - at this rate, I'll be down another 66 lbs by May 1, which puts me at 1 lb over my goal weight (I think I can probably work off 1 extra by then.) I got derailed for a week because of 1 bad weekend of mexican food and pizza! I didn't realize how quickly all my hard work could be undone - good reality check, though.
Next step - now that I'm pretty comfortable with the diet, is working in the exercise. I feel like a total weenie at softball because most of my hits, although solid, are just barely making it past the infield. To the gym! And the batting cages...
