Hey Bucks,
I know exactly what you mean. I face this a lot. "You don't like pizza?" "Why don't you eat a sandwich?" "Pasta is good for you!"
I tell them: I can't, I have coeliac disease, I get sick when I eat pizz/pasta/sandwiches and they look at me as if I was crazy. And always always always someone says: "Have a small slice of cake/pizza/serving of pasta, that won't hurt!"
I want to scream at them: "Yes it does hurt, it hurts because it will give me intestinal cancer you ass!"
One of my classmates (an adult woman of 35 plus years) observed me for days and then one day I was eating peanuts and she said "Oh, now you have spoilt your whole diet, eating nuts!" I had told her repeatedly that I wasn't dieting, that I was just not eating gluten and trying to eat more healthy food. People! Gotta hate them some days!
Anyhow, well done for resisting the pizza, it is hard to do this! And good job eating and exercising lately, I can realy tell that this job is helping you get a nice routine into your days, which is great! I wish I was organized enough to have any kind of routine ... I am supposed to write this darn dissertation and all I do is post online!

I know what you're dealing with as well Buckeye. For some reason people always want you to join them in unhealthy decisions. I run into the same thing with doughnuts, bagels and cream cheese, and other snacks at work. Or at a friends house when they don't understand why I'm drinking water if they're drinking beer. It's gotten to the point now though where I've re-enforced it enough for them to realize that I'm eating healthy. Now they know I won't have any so there's no sense in asking.

EVERYONE is a sabateur(sp??). I don't even think its a concious thing- they just do it. Before I started my whole diet thing I used to go to a friends house, who is an AMAZING cook(only of the bad stuff, lol) and eat there almost every night. Now I won't go to her house because I know that if I go I'll eat horribly, and she knows it, so shes actually cooking better for herself and her family... So, overall, I guess I'm helping her out to but yeah, it could be crappiest food in the universe, and if you aren't eating it, you don't know what your missing! people are funny!

Good job for you for restisting the pizza! People do those kinds of things probably b/c they might be thinking that you are thinking badly of them, when in reality you aren't. People are silly sometimes! haha! You made some very healthy choices today and you should be proud of that. A friend once told me a great saying when I was worried about what others were thinking of something I did. She said to say to myself: "It isn't any of my business what other people think of me." haha. It's a great saying to live by, b/c someone isn't always going to be happy with me and what I do and so I might as well just block it out. Sometimes that's easier said than done, though! Don't listen to those peeps, you are doing great....as well as with your exercise too! woohoo

I agree with your friend, and I might have to steal that quote from you and make it my motto! Thanks for the support, you are awesome!

The routine during the week is what saves me on the weekends! I know I have a "cushion" to fall on if I stick with my routine during the week. I know it is horrible and I am debating to move my weigh in day because the cushion=water weight=bad Monday weigh in! A dissertation is amazing, good for you! I couldn't imagine doing that right now, but I can only imagne how hard it is for you to develop a rhythm. And posting online isn't a good thing...hahaha
Thanks for all of the support, God knows I need it! Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah! It is so tough, especially when the unhealthy decisions are so good! Bagels and cream cheese used to be a big weakness for me, but I have kept myself away from Panera and any other place that had good bagels. It is working, and I know once the pounds are falling off, the decision will be made so much easier for me!
The beer thing is the same situation with me and my friends, they quit asking and making fun of me when they found out I was the sober driver!

I love watching the Olympics. I feel like it is making my mind think I worked out because I'm watching people exert so much! hahaha How awesome are the Olympics anyways!?!?!?! Seriously, every two years I am so into it! I think I just like chanting USA.
So this weekend had its high points and low points. On Friday I learned that I had a huge presentation on my project on Monday. Great timing, boss. That would have been helpful, um, a week ago. C'est la vie. The situation was only made better (worse) by my best friend coming down from Law School to stay with me. Oh, and she brought her Canadian roommate who had never been to Columbus. Sweet. Let's entertain while I have a huge project over my head.
SO. On Friday, thank God they wanted to stay in. Lifesaver. We just watched a movie and I fed them bad food because I secretly wanted to eat it. I didn't eat any of the bad food, however, watching them sort of satisfied my urge for eating it since they felt like crap after (but claimed it was worth it). It was nice not eating it but making it. Strange. Now I know how my mother feels...
On Saturday we went to an awesome bfast place by my apartment, I had an egg white omelette which was DELICIOUS! However, the day downward spiralled at the state fair. I had a corn on the cob (so good), a corn dog, and the dairy house's ice cream. Which was pure fat. Surely, the fat was infused with fat. It was sinfully good.
I abstained from going out, which was the best decision. I got some work done, woke up early and cleaned and did laundry and did some more work. Of course my hungover friends slept the entire morning.
I then continued working ALL AFTERNOON! Oy vay.
Needless to say, I didn't workout all weekend. My body feels like it gained weight, which I'm sure it did. i'm not expecting much, last week I had gained some. this week I just hope to be at 193 and then focus on losing for the entire week.
Going to put up some big numbers. OH YEAH! The Olympics made me come in contact with my jock-side. CHEST BUMP!

Great job on not going out! Thats freakishly hard to do when everyone of your friends goes out..
Every now and then when I flip thru channels I'll stop on the Olympics, but I will admit that it just annoys me that there isn't ever anything else to watch, lol. VERY UNAMERICAN! I know...

Great job watching the diet most of the weekend Buckeye. The trick is, when you have a setback... get right back to the plan asap. Don't let one meal, day, or weekend turn into a week or month.

I love watching the Olympics too! My favorites have to be the water sports-swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo and the Diving. I think that they are doing those today! I need to find out cuz I don't want to miss it!

I knew today I had to get back on track and I partially did (watched the eating, didn't get a chance to workout)

Diving is on right now! Synchro not individual. I love watching soccer, tennis, and the really odd sports. I watched Equestrian last night...strange. The announcers kept saying "oh, the canter really fell apart there" and I thought it was the funniest thing ever. I must be going crazy.

I'm tuned in! It's beach volleyball on the channel I'm watching, but I think the Diving will come on after. I hope I didn't miss it!
