Wow what a small world? lol And thanks so much for the run down...it already cements that I'm thinking I need to get on as a student assistant, which I've heard helps from some professors at Kent as well. I need to hurry up and get my health in order though because I can barely handle my busy schedule now. Funny how much life I'm not living because of my wait right now, and I know it.

Anyway sorry about your back but glad it's feeling better...those can take a while to heal. You may know this already but one thing that really helps if its flared up is a hotpack made of towels. You take one and get it completely wet so no dry spots (or they can catch fire :X) and put it in the microwave for ten minutes. Then you pull it out with tongs, spatula, whatever besides your hands and put it on a dry towel making sure there's four layers between it and your skin. The moist heat is a huge relief and beats the crap out of a heating pad. Only thing better-hot tub which I do not have....yet...lol.

Hope you had a good holiday weekend~Lisa

Thanks for the help Lisa! I have actually been using a cold pack from work that is awesome and some of those ski hot packs. I don't have a microwave, because I don't ever use one (strange, I know...) so maybe the oven? hahaha

Today was a bad day for me. I was so hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Breakfast: toast with butter and egg beaters
Lunch: turkey sandwich, half serving of chips, carrots and two gingersnaps
Dinner: two hot dogs (no bun), green beans

GULP here it comes. I went with my gay guy friends to gay trivia (where straight women dominate) and had: vodka tonic (let's be honest, all vodka, slight tonic) and...............tater tots. For God's sake who ever saw tater tots on a menu??!?!?!? They were taunting me. I haven't had a tater tot since I was 5. Although to make myself feel better, the whole table ate them. hahaha Ew...........

The back update goes a little like this, I'm over it. I hate how my back is always sore. Sure it is feeling better, but I want to run!!!!!!!! Oy.

Have a good day!

Weight: 193.0

Tator tots....LOVe them! I bypassed the cafeteria today at my college because I knew they'd be there and they cook them SO good, not to greasy and very fresh and crispy. My other downfall is hashbrowns and sausage gravy. When I was doing strict low-carb this sunk me everytime sooner or later, lol.

And backs are tricky so I'm so glad you have hot and cold packs and are getting better So how'd you do on the trivia? lol

Kristi it is fun, but they are all so fit and active and I'm just blah because I can't run!!!!! Today I was thisclose to driving to the gym after work and running. Instead I did laundry (it needed to be done) and that was a work out in itself because I just went up and down and up and down those stairs! I was sweating!

Lisa hahaha gay trivia is so funny. We came in second because my gays weren't gay enough and they didn't know a show tune. Damn gays. hahaha

Food wise was real good today. I stuck to it and even at dinner when I wanted seconds I was told myself "NO!" GREAT!

Breakfast: cereal and milk...high in fiber and I felt it...
Lunch: PB/J with the NEW pb i bought all natural!, nectarine, carrots, babybel cheese (lowfat, low sodium)
Dinner: spinach soufle I made (because I'm BETTY CROCKER lately) and whole wheat asian noodles with soy and chile sauces and two glasses of milk

Pretty f'in amazing day! I want desert, but I think tomorrow I'll do the desert thing. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!

I am always on my feet (I can't sit because when I stand my back is painful) so I feel like I'm burning more calories at work then ever!

Well I'm going to go check in on everyone and have a good night!

Your dinner sounded so good, come to my house and cook! lol. But seriously if you're gonna keep posting all that yummy food could you post some recipes too if you have time? Where'd you find the whole wheat asian noodles? I've never seen those. I keep seeing shirataki noodles online and have wanted to try them but haven't yet...keep wondering if they taste good or not. Anyway hope you're having as good a day today as yesterday ~Lisa

So my weekend was the same as the past couple weekends. I worked. UGHHHHHH cannot wait until I can have a weekend off. The study only lasts for September but I feel drained and depressed already. I can't wait until I can sleep in on a Saturday. I mean I am a morning person but waking up EVERY SINGLE DAY at 5:30 AM is starting to take its toll. I think these people I work with are mutants, freaks of nature. How do they have the drive to go into work so early. When I asked if we could go in around 10 AM they thought I was crazy. Well, hello, I would like to sleep in one friggin' day!!!!!!!!

I don't know if anyone watched the embarrassment that was the OSU game on Saturday, but I would just like to say I am ashamed and we BETTER bea USC this weekend.

OK.

So on Friday I went out with the friends for what was supposed to be one drink. Well one drink turned in to 4 and thank God I was saving my calories and barely went over (1600 for the day). So good on me.

Saturday I worked all morning, and went home and took a nap after the game and did work. What I didn't realize was that I didn't eat. Seriously. I had a hot dog. I forgot to eat. This is really scary to me because A. that has never happened before B. I'm freaking out about work so much I FORGOT TO EAT!

Today I went in to work, cleaned the apartment, and did more work for the big important meeting tomorrow. Shoot me. Eating wise I had a bad day. I think I was subconsciously thinking I could eat more since I ate less yesterday. I had a bagel (haven't had one in months) and for dinner I had a chicken and broccoli casserole that I was craving. You can just call me captain carbs.

IF you noticed, there wasn't a workout in there. I have just now been able to sit down and then stand up without hurting too much (still hurts) so I'm making progress. I don't sit at work and am constantly moving so I'm staying active, but this week I'm going to do a long walk and see how I feel the next day. If I feel good, I might re-start the couch to 5K program and work my way slowly back into running. I want to do workouts that are core strengthening and so I will be doing a lot of ball exercises and machines that aren't straining on my back. Hopefully by the end of this week I can get in to the gym. Hopefully. I really miss working out and having that time to myself, so we'll see how it goes.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and Wednesday is weigh in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I'm kind of a foodie. I love cooking and I'm the only 22 year old I know who gets Bon Appetite monthly. THe noodles were at Whole Foods in the "NEW!!!!!!" area. They were sort of expensive and not worth the price. I would just buy wheat pasta.

Thanks for stopping by!

OMG I know about that pain, nothing is worse than back pain. It affects every part of life. I never realized how many things were related to the back until now and sometimes it gets so stiff that I can't move for awhile and am hunched over! I'm so sorry about your knee, that doesn't seem at all like it feels alright! Thanks for being so great and stopping in and I hope your week goes well!

I totally agree...I had a pulled muscle that ended up being a two year back injury after the workers comp chiropractor got done with me. Not that they're all bad...some are good but this guy was rough. But yea...I've been through a car accident where I fractured my sternum and broke my leg in 6 places plus messed up my knee to where I only have half a knee cap. Know what? The back pain was worse, WAY worse, lol. Like you said it affects every part of your body causing headaches, pain ALL over, flu like symptoms, fatigue, pain related depression.....the gift that keeps on giving. I'm really sorry you're having to go through that and hope it heals quick. Mine took a while but after I got to a back doctor and he did a corticosteroid shot it went away pretty quick. I woke up one morning and realized "hey...I don't hurt" lol.

Oh and as far as not eating goes, I've been doing that lately too. I get away with it being busy but then I have a day where I'm starving. So coulda been more to it than you just thinking you could get away with eating. You probably were more hungry the next day.

lol. sorry, i had to... It has a nice ring to it! No really, you didn't do all that bad. If you're captain carbs then so am I b/c that's all I've eaten today! Anyway, with all of that work that you are putting in, you are burning so many calories that you need that fuel! I do feel for you. You are working so hard with so many hours and so early, when do you ever get a break? You are amazing for still trying to make it to the gym after such a long day! I'm so impressed! Can't wait for weigh-in-day on Wednesday! You'll do great!

Oh and thanks for that boost of confidence in my journal!

Ouch! You had me wincing reading that! I hope you are all better now, because I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy! Everyday I hope to wake up and I don't hurt. You're very very lucky to not feel like I feel, and you completely hit the nail on the head, it is everything in your life that hurts!
I was really hungry the next day and I have been hungry this week, real hungry. Hopefully I'll get the big loss this week! Thanks for stopping by!

Oh ha ha (sarcastic). I think I set myself up for that one. hahahaha Although it really does have a good ring to it...maybe i'll change my name on here to captain carbs...hmmmmmmm

The work I've been doing is draining, I don't think I'm up for writing in everyone's journal today because I'm exhausted. I walked around the park today and it felt great, but we'll see how I feel tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping in and I'll keep you posted on how tomorrow goes! Have a good night!

Good job on taking a walk- I HATE walking in public. I feel like no one should be subjected to watching the jiggly fat in public, lol.
