Has anybody heard about toxins contributing to weight?

Hey there,

My friend just went on a diet that involved detoxing her body.

She ran accross a video on youtube: YouTube - Weight Loss - The pH Fat Flush

The speaker seems credible (and is pretty handsome). I was thinking of giving it a try, but I usually do more researching than she does

Has anybody gone on a diet like this? Or known somebody who has?

I just can't seem to lose weight lately. Maybe it's just because I'm getting older

that's a diet popular among spammers...

From where I'm sitting, at age 43, age has very little to do with weight loss and the ability to lose weight -I've lost more weight over the age of 40 than under it - so do not use age as an excuse...

Your body is basically self cleaning -you don't need a special diet to detox your body to help lose weight -what works is moving more and eating less...

But I am moving :(

I've worked out (treadmill, light weights) for years though... have done so religiously.

I have slowly gained about 10 extra pounds over the last year or so. The only things different from a year ago are that I'm maybe a little more stressed out, I'm eating the same amount of calories (usually), but not getting as many different foods probably.
