I figured I'd start a diary for me and Sarah (steadfast_minx), since we're both working out and eating better together. I'm just trying to be supportive, but I think she's doing better than I am!
She started a special Curves diet online a few days ago. She can print off a grocery list of everything we need and then print of a list of recipes for every meal and snack. I helped cook a few of the meals, and I'm definitely not a cook! My cooking experience usually just extends to grilling, microwaving, and making "complete meals" But it was fun to do some real cooking. I made some fruit/cereal bars and some really good vegetable soup from scratch. Usually my vegetable soup comes from can.
Tonight, we went and played tennis, and by "played" I mean we ran around and chased flying balls. But it was really fun and we both worked up a sweat. We probably played for about 45 minutes and then walked a half mile, jogged a quarter mile, and then walked another mile. We usually walk a mile about once a week, but hopefully we'll be able to get in the habit of jogging more.
I think we're going to try to play tennis again tomorrow night, so that should be fun. Maybe we'll actually get to hit the ball back and forth more than a few times in a row!
I'm so proud of Sarah for making an effort, and I'm glad she's letting me be a part of it. I need to get in shape too. I don't want to lose any weight, but I could definitely use SOME muscles. I'm so not athletic.

Reason: Fixed for "proper grammar" ;)
Hey all, this is Sarah (steadfast_minx), the other author of the journal. It took me forever to find this post because Blake didn't quite use proper grammar in naming this journal. HAHAHAHA. Anyway, I am a little frustrated today because I worked out 5 times last week and I have been working really hard on my diet. I know that it happens, but it is still frustrating.
I made some amazing fish tacos tonight and they were awesome. I was surprised how good they were. My diet hasn't been perfect, but it is defiantly a step in the right direction. One huge improvement is I am drinking almost 12 glasses of water a day, which it feels really good to be drinking that much again.
I know I had other thoughts but after working a little more than 10 hours today my mind isn't very clear.
Well, it's been about a year since I've been on here...
We started doing the Biggest LoserYoga DVD a couple of months ago. I love it! It's definitely gotten me into better shape than I've ever been. That's not saying much, but I definitely have muscles that I've never had before.
I think Sarah said a few weeks ago that she had already lost 15 pounds just doing the video, so that's amazing!
We also started doing the Boot Camp DVD. I like the weight lifting parts of it (though I'm only using 5 poundweights instead of the 10 pounds they're using in it). I'm not as big of a fan of the cardio parts of it, but it goes by pretty fast. Still leaves me dripping with sweat.
