Rep Power: 13 | | | I've got a bad case of the "blahs" 218 this morning. I've been 218-219 for over a week. It's getting boring. I'm going to give myself some constructive advice and anyone else that is reading this is welcome to do the same! Please.
So, I tried to tell myself a couple of days ago not to have any cheese for a day and that backfired and I've pretty much been eating it at every meal since. What's wrong with me? So I decided that instead of going "cold turkey" on cheese (how sad is that? ) that I would cut it out for one meal a day. Today I am not going to have cheese at dinner. One small step at a time.
See, but this bothers me. If I wanted this weight loss bad enough wouldn't I do something more drastic than to not eat cheese at a meal??? I'm feeling down today. Not because of the scale, but just in general. I just want to curl up on the couch and zone out on tv or play some video games. blah.
To cheer me up a bit I'm posting my weight loss chart in here. I can't deny that there has been some progress. Just not in the last week. I guess I should also keep in mind that just because the scale does not move does not mean that there is no progress going on. I know that what I'm doing is healthy and good for my body in the long run. Well, I'm glad I just had that little pep talk with myself
So if anyone has any advice....I welcome it. (I can already hear somebody saying: Stop weighing yourself everday. I agree with all of the reasons why not to do this but I'm just not there yet.)

Rep Power: 13 | | | Day 45 8-12-08 Well, I upped my calorie intake today. My mood is thanking me for it. I was a bit cranky earlier.
218 lbs. this morning. (615)Breakfast: Kashi Rosemary Chicken(all natural ingredients)(330) mixed with a light laughing cow wedge(35), ate it on a toasted whole wheat pita pocket(150) Glass of OJ(100). From all of that I got 25.5 g. protein and 8 g. of fiber. Full and happy.  ) (710)Lunch:3/4 piece of deli ham(100) dijon mustard(10) wedge of light cheese(35) half a serving of triscuit thin crisps(70);
half a banana(50),1 tbl. natural peanut butter(105)serving of win-dixie brand vanilla wafers(120) 2 cups of milk(220)
I'm at 1325 with just breakfast and lunch. I'll def. be going over 1700 calories today. I'm okay with that. My in-laws are coming over for dinner tonight(mom- dad- and sis-inlaw). Since this morning, I've been slow cooking a roast(with 3tbl. flour and seasoning and 3 tbl. olive oil when I browned the meat) with carrots, onions, celery, snap beans, and garlic. I'm making mashed potatoes for them and a sweet potatoes for me(and anyone else that wants one) I'm not sure how many calories are in a roast, but if I don't over-do it on the portion then I will probably be at my maintenance calories today.
Maintenance: 2381 Calories/day Fat Loss: 1905 Calories/day
Extreme Fat Loss: 1744 Calories/day

Well, I don't know if it's the day or what, but the blah's seem to be contagious today. I certainly have them myself! I think that if you can just make it through today, you will be feeling so much better.
About the cheese, just remember that you cannot freak your body out by completely changing everything at once. Maybe instead of not eating cheese, you can try eating lower fat. I am also a cheese lover, and have found that I can use fat free cheese on the things like sandwiches, tacos, etc. It doesn't melt as well for some reason, so if you use low fat cheese when you are making things like enchiladas or lasagna, it works better. I know it sounds crazy to be talking about making things like lasagna, but think of this... You can use whole wheat pasta, make your own chunky tomato sauce, add mushrooms, and use ground turkey instead of beef. Plus, use the low fat cheese... Now, how bad is that? Plus, make a big 'ol salad to go along with it and you've got a pretty darn healthy meal, if you ask me!!!
Keep on going, we will all get through this day and continue our journey toward success. |

Since I'm not 100% sure of the calories in my stew, I'm going to round up or choose the higher # of calories on the calorie website I'm using: Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate (640)Dinner: roast(little less than a cup of stew meat)(250), 1 whole carrot (30), about a cup of nions, mushrooms, snap beans,celery(100),1/4 sweet potato with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar(45), 1/2 cup mashed potatoes(110), 1 sm. roll.(105) Diet iced tea with a lemon(0) Total Calories:1965...With everything I ate today, I am still in my calorie deficit today!! Not by much, but I did it. Exercise:100 crunches;15 pushups; Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred DVD. I was literally crying by the end. Here's what it was:2 minute warm-up, 6 min. circuit: 3-2--1 intervals: 3 min. strength, 2 min. cardio, 1 minute abs, one min cool down. 20 minutes altogether. very intense and that was only the 1st of 3 phases. |

Keep on going, we will all get through this day and continue our journey toward success. | You're so right about that. I switched all cheese to low fat/low calorie. I'm glad I did, but I still feel guilty about it for some reason. I guess b/c in my mind it's a splurge food, even though I eat it in small amounts. I'm glad I found those little 35 calorie wedges though. Now it's time to rid myself of those poisonous lean pockets!!! I was thinking yesterday, as I was slowly killing myself while eating one, that I could make one for less calories and so much better for me. I was thinking that I could get some turkey pepperoni, low calorie marinara, a wheat pita pocket and some low fat mozzarella...and voila...a non-toxic lean pocket made by me! haha! I really will try that soon Oh, and I feel a lot better than this morning! I had a REALLY hard work-out and a good cry! I know I'm not PMSing, so who knows what's wrong with me today!

I just wanted to tell you that you are doing a great job. You are inspiring me to keep up with my lifestyle change. I read early on in your diary about how God is in your life and that is a great thing. I pray everyday that he carries me through this and you will be in my prayers as well. You are doing a great thing for yourself. You and I have pretty much the same goals. I look forward to hearing about your progress. God bless.

Well, just trying to enjoy my hubby while I can, before school starts up for him again. He just got a promotion at the local news station (Video Producer/Editor), so his hours over there are going to be nuts on top of his school sched. I will hardly see him, so I'm bummed. I am happy that he got a promotion though We have had only one car for a couple of months to save on bills and today we went to Honda and bought a motorcycle for him! I'm mobile again!!!!!!!!! He bought it to save on gas going to and from work and school (we live a half an hour away from both). What we save on gas will pay for the bike in no time. It really wasn't all that expensive--a little over 3 grand. Besides that I am just really ready for Fall to get here so that it will be bearable to sit outside. I love the Fall!!! I'm thinking that I want to grow some pumpkins this year. Should be fun!
What have you been up to? Are you settled into your new house yet? How's the neighborhood and neighbors?
