I had my daughter in May and things are going great! I'm also babysitting another little boy her age in my home a few times a week for some extra income. I'm ready to jump back in but I don't know if I can keep up with the level of commitment that I used to have in this forum before I was pregnant. But I will surely do what I can! I gained some weight since I've had Ivy and am up to 212. I'm still less than I was before I joined the forum last June, so that's at least somewhat encouraging. I'll be doing what I was doing before, counting calories and exercising. Here we go again!!!
Oh! And I'd also like to say that my gestational diabetes did not develop into diabetes after she was born! YAY!!

Gollie, Kristi, it's good to have you back. I was already worried that something had happened to you or the baby. Congratulations on your baby girl. I've strayed off this forum onto another one but I noticed you were here so I had to stop by and say hello. I gained tons of weight during my pregnancy. I'm all the way up to 234 so we aren't even close anymore but I'm back in the game myself and I'm ready to lose all this baby weight. I've already managed to lose 39 pounds of the 53 pounds I gained. Now that you are back, I'll be glad to be checking in with you. I had a little boy in June. He was born on my daughter's 4th birthday. How weird....anyway, we named him Ryan Mathias and we call him Mathias. He's gorgeous and I'm so in love. I finally got my little boy and you have your pair. How lucky we are. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and I hope you stay in touch. I'll be checking in on you. Take care.

Gotta do something before all that hard work last summer goes down the drain!!!!!!!
I'll be back on here tonight to post my food journal from today. Has anybody been watching Biggest Loser on NBC? Great motivator!! I can't wait to watch it tomorrow night.

I'm so glad that you are still on here. My fear was that I would come back and all my people would be gone!! We can do this!!! 39 pounds is insanely awesome!!! Great work. I'm sure you've lost even more since this post. Congrats on your baby boy!

I feel like I really am getting back on track. I already feel better about myself--long way to go but it's happening. Last week I was 217.5, yesterday I was 214.5 and this morning I was 213...as long as the scale keeps going in this direction, I'm going to be just fine!
(395) Breakfast: 2 whole grain blueberry waffles(180), 1 T. natural PB (105), 1 C. 1% milk (110)
3 large glasses of water (during and after working out)
(425)Lunch: (chicken sandwich~ 1.5 chicken legs (no skin, wiped off the bbq sauce)(150), 2 slices of wheat bread (140); 1/2 cup of vegetarian no fat baked beans (130), 1 glass of diet green tea (Community, sweetened with honey, lemon, and splenda) (5)
(175)Snack: 1/2 toasted wheat pita (70), light laughing cow cream cheese wedge (35), 1/4 C. Blueberries (20), 3 triscuits (50) Large Ice Water
(325) Dinner: Kashi Pesto Pasta Primavera (290), 1 light laughing cow cheese (35), Water with lemon (0)
(133) Snack: Half sandwich~ 1 slice wheat bread (70), 1/2 T. natural PB (53), 2 sliced up strawberries (10), Water with Lemon (0)
Total Daily Calories: 1453 (I could have sworn I got more calories in than that.)
Exercise: 20 minute cardio and strength workout video (Level 1 of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred) BUSTED MY BUTT! I'm still sore and probably still will be tomorrow!
I sure do eat a lot of cheese and pb throughout the day! It's in small amounts and is high in protien, so I think I'm okay with this as long as I keep the portions small. I can't find my dumbbell weights anywhere! I'm going to have to 'undergo a diligent search for them' this week. I used a galon of milk and a gallon of tea during my workout today. My two year old son really thought I was strange. I had the windows open so I wonder if any neighbors saw!! hahaha!! I'm going to pull my treadmill out of my closet and just keep it in my bedroom for now until I have some more room in the living room. Ramble, ramble, ramble...
Kristi's journey to a healthy lifestyle Post #629 (permalink)
Ramble away smiley! Nothing wrong with a milk jug as a DB. Full its an 8 lb dumbbell. Good enough for al kinds of work outs.
Treadmill? Say it ain't so! Not the bike? hmm... not sure how I feel about that...
My bike broke The part on the bike that changes the resistance broke off and the screen was cracked and didn't work anymore. My hubby deemed it worthless and threw it out without me knowing! Ah well. My MIL lives about 10 min. from me, so I'll just use hers now and then until I get a new one. I'll let you know when I do, and IT...IS...ON!!!!
