Good idea to start a diary. I was gonna bring it up to you, but it looks like you're a few steps ahead of me. The diaries are a great place to get advice as far as nutrition and exercise. Go Spartans!

kids make you sweat!

i babysat my nephew today and of course he's at that age where he is really naughty! i had to keep him happy by putting him on a toy truck and pushing him around in the basement. i think i got a better workout from doing that then being on the elliptical. he pretty much is a workout in itself because he won't let you stop or else he'll start crying. i love it when he comes over! =)

went for a jog with a friend of mine at the lake. we're both trying to lose weight and i was telling her about the website but she seems uninterested. she sort of lost a lot of weight in the past few years without anyone's support. she likes to do things on her own. she's at a plateau but she's not ready for running yet because she has bad knees. anyone with a bad knee have any comments or suggestions for her?

as far as eating goes, my family grows all our veggies in the backyard and my parents buy an actual pig from a farm. it may sound weird to ya'll but they go to the farm, purchase a pig, and clean & chop it all up before they come home. we have two freezers besides the fridge and we live on it for about 6 months. i've noticed that my family eats a lot less in the past few years that i've been away at school. we eat the same thing everyday for long periods of time until we run out of the meat and winter rolls around when snow falls and veggies are frozen. i would say it's pretty healthy except for all the red meat. we also have rice with every meal so i guess that's not the best for someone trying to lose weight but it's what i'm used to. my siblings EAT everything so i'm not able to buy anything and have it last very long. i bought lettuce to make a salad and never got a bite because it was all gone before i even opened the fridge again lol. i've been pretty good with drinking lots of water but i haven't been losing any weight the past 2-3 days. i admit, i weigh myself every morning because it helps me work harder if i know that i gained. it's my method but i know weight can fluctuate so i'm not going to cry if i gained a couple pounds, it'll probably go back down in a few days.

bad thing is that it's my 2 sister's birthdays in the next 2 days and i'm baking them a cake and we're having a luau barbeque. i hope i don't eat much because it'll be pure sugar and pork ribs with bbq sauce! ahhhhhhh!

wish me luck!

Im sure you know this, but there are lots of things that your friend could do for cardio that are low impact. Swimming, ellipticals, biking, even rollerblading are possible alternatives. If she really wants to run she's just going to have to start off slow and build up, so she can find her limits.

good luck at the luau! Just remember that no food tastes as good as being skinny feels. I always think that when Im tempted.

I wish I had money for an elliptical...I love those. I have a bad knee and other than a stationary bike or swimming and walking I don't really have much advice. The only thing close to running for me was this one machine at my old college...I THINK it was an elliptical but it was slightly different. I'm seriously going to have to call them and ask, lol.

Oh and I just wanted to say you have a way of writing that is very enjoyable to read Glad you got a chance to start you diary and keep up the good work

Thanks about the writing part, I always thought it sounded weird when I reread what I write. My mom found an old elliptical at the thrift store for about 15-20 bucks and picked it up. I want a treadmill now. =-)

blah.

I haven't lost any lbs lately and I'm pissed! I also have been eating more than I should be. I think the first week went well because I was really into the mode of everything but I've eased up and that's not good. I should be fine because my "day off" is over and I'm back at work tomorrow. Wish me luck! =)

Today's luau wasn't so hard to get through except for the occasional snacking. I only had a taste of the cake, not even a piece. I bbq'd so I had some of that. I could have done much worst but I could have done better too. Oh well, there's tomorrow to make it up through exercise. I can't wait for the weekend, I'll be out of state, seeing old friends, and partying! I will probably have some alcohol but I will stray away from beer and mixed drinks. I am allergic to alcohol to the point where my neck, okay, my ENITRE body turns beet red and I itch! I've never been drunk in my life because I have a limit and I won't go past it. You can say I'm a responsible drinker... more of the mellow and laid back types. Besides that...

Anyone know any vitamins or anything that would help me heal quicker? For some reason, my skin tends to cut and open and it takes so long to heal! I'm very irritated with my skin. I've always had bad skin, very dry. Any healing lotions or vitamins you know about?

Other than that I do Slim in 6 which includes resistance bands and the regular cardio. I'm going to also start doing hiphop abs tomorrow. I looove dancing! I'm off to bed early because I have to get in my 8 hours. Good night =)

So funny, I was complaining in reverse...I have a treadmill and want an elliptical. Wish I had found one that cheap...soon as we move next week I'm gonna start watching for used exercise equipment! My hubby can't say crap about it bein in his way now cuz in our new house we have space and I'm taking my own room for my computer and treadmill.

You should add a meditation corner in that room also! LOL It would be nice to just sit quietly for a few minutes a day... I don't even get that. Anyways, good job on the weight loss! Why not join the Vegas challenge?
