Rep Power: 18 | | So last night our evening run was nixed by a thunderstorm. The wind was howling! And that was enough to keep me in! Plus it was getting late, so Step and I called it a night.
This morning I got up and did the ab sculpt of Hip Hop Abs... it was my first time doing it, I just bought the video last week. I wouldn't say it wasn't the best ab workout I've done, but it was for sure lots of fun and got my heart rate up! I would say my abs are one of my strong points, from all those years of dance... they've been worked a good amount and honeslty as weird as it sounds I LOOOOOVE working them!
After last night's snack attack, I decided I would start keeping track of my diet here as well as in my personal notebook... maybe that will help from having another snack attack
I currently get 22 points a day and once I am officially under 150 it will go down to 20 points a day. I haven't been getting enough fruits and veggies... but its kinda hard to do when we are all out! I plan to go grocery shopping tomorrow! Breakfast:
1 Pkt instant oatmeal (weight control, banana): 2 pts
1 Cup Coffee: 0 pts
2 Tbs non-dairy creamer: 2 pts
1.5 pkt splenda: 0 pts
Total: 4 Pts Lunch
2 Slice Sara Lee Delightful Wheat Bread: 1 Pt
3 oz shaved turkey breast: 1 Pt
1 slice provalone cheese: 2 pts
1 tbsp yellow mustard: 0 pts
1 cup fresh carrots: 0 pts
8 oz Gatorade mixed with 16oz water: 1 pt
Total: 5 pts
And as far as afternoon snack and dinner goes I'l post later. As for a workout tonight, its girls night. My mom and I are really close and about every 6 weeks we hit the salon together to get our hair done and stuff. Its a long process but lots of fun! I am just getting a trim this time. I am still recovering from cutting all my hair off right before christmas. So unless I get home sooner than usual, no evening workout for me... but I got a good 30 mins in the morning so its not the worst thing!
Thanks all for now... |

Rep Power: 18 | | | Ahhhh forgot you were doing Weight Watchers. I thought you ate 2 pints of oatmeal for a second there. Is instant oatmeal less points than regular on the WW plan? Or do you just prefer it? |

I don't really prefer the instant, but its conveinent. I usually have my breakfast at desk at work. I am here by 7:30 sometimes earlier and with getting a morning workout in I don't usually have time to have breakfast before I leave. |

I have done pretty good this week about getting b'fast in but a lot of times I will just down a couple raw eggs. I have seen some recipes for oatmeal shakes but I havent tried any yet. |

I could never do that.. You are brave! | Safe? Pretty darn. recent history would argue that you stand a better chance getting salmonella from spinach or tomatoes than from eggs. Also with all the recalls you see I would say it is as safe as any store bought food. Safer maybe eaten raw because in raw, whole foods you have a better chance of catching something that isnt right.
Tasty? Tasteless at best. What makes them "sound" disgusting is actually what makes them not that unpleasant to swallow. The pretty much slide right down. I crack them in a glass and slam it like tequila. If the texture doesnt bother you, you got it made. I would say from a taste stand point I prefer the slight egg white after taste to the vitamin after taste you get when you let a vitamin sit on your tongue too long. I hate that taste and it sometimes makes me gag.
Also, raw eggs are much more healthy than cooked based on chemical changes in the proteins when cooked. Interestingly enough most egg allergies are to cooked eggs. When consumed raw, egg allergies virtually disappear . |

That's a very interesting and truthful post, imo... I don't really eat that many eggs to begin with, unless they are scrambled or already baked into a cake or something... I wouldn't mind drinking raw eggs if I had to either. I used to eat oysters on the half shell a lot and imagine the texture of a raw egg sliding down your throat to be similiar... |

Rep Power: 18 | | I am for sure gonna try it... however I don't know how many points an egg is... I don't eat many because you have to cook them... but now I guess you dont HAVE to cook them... Hmmm...
Just checking in. Mom called and said that she read our salon appt. wrong. Apparently its tomorrow night and not tonight. Which means.... SALSAEROBICS!!!!!!! **booty shake** Ha ha only the BEST aerobic class in town. My co-worker got me hooked on it last year, its basically an aerobics class, but its all done through latin dance steps... salsa, cumbia, meringe (spelling!), cha-cha... TONS of fun and I am always drenched by the time its over. I just recently started adding 1 lb wrist weights... and let me tell you it for sure makes a difference! I almost didnt make it the first time I used them, it was awesome! Ha ha can't you tell I am excited!?
So thats all for now... had my afternoon snack.. or am having my afternoon snack rather. PM Snack
1 jello pudding cup (100 cal vairety): 2 pts
1 Lg Gala Apple: 1 pt
Total: 3 pts |

Rep Power: 8 | | Hey, just wanted to check out your diary. I'm interested in Weight Watchers. Do you like it? You look like you're doing well. Just wanted to add my take on eggs. I've been trying to get more protein in my diet, but I love smoothies in my diet. As a way to get both I just add a couple cooked egg whites into the smoothie. You can't tell the difference. Maybe I'll have to try adding raw ones. That would be so much easier. |

I would never eat eggs raw, just because a. the taste lol and b. there is a possibility of salmonella.
A good alternative to raw eggs is egg white powder, contains all the protein! |

Rep Power: 19 | | Not to bash on the raw eggs...actually yeah, I'm gonna bash. haha The thought of swallowing a raw egg makes me feel nauseous. I'd rather cook up a couple of egg whites The yolks are what have all the points...sure a few yolks here and there are good, but you get the most bang for your buck w/the whites.
Good idea on skipping the run in the rain...no need to make yourself sick or risk getting blisters from running in wet shoes/clothes. |

A good alternative to raw eggs is egg white powder, contains all the protein! | I didnt say they were "ALWAYS safe" I said the odds are against it. 0.003% are infected. Which means that at the rate that I consume them I will run across 1 about every 42 years. Its also worth noting that almost everyone has had salmonella likely more than once. In most healthy adults though the symptoms are usually a couple days of loose stool and maybe a few headaches. While it can be potentially dangerous it seldom is.
I dont think I was dishonest about the safety of raw eggs.
tap water
spinach
cantaloupe
milk
lettuce
They all have histories of salmonella. Everyone still eats them? | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
