Ugh... thats the only word that expresses how I feel about today. I am just glad that after this post I get to put my big butt to bed.

So we had our little office meeting at lunch... and yes my boss really brought hot dogs, cracker jacks, and peanuts... as well as bottles of coke... And in case anyone was wondering the spinach salad I made went over very well, they ate it all! And I swear I didn't force them to eat it!

Again I did zero work today while I was at work... I think if tomorrow proceeds the same way I might just ask to leave early. I can be so much more productive at home than sitting on my fat butt at work.

I went to salsaerobics tonight. The 60 min high intensity class gives me back a whopping 7 points. And I feel like I didn't do as great as I hoped. Yes I was soaked in sweat, I remember sweat actually dripping off my nose at one point... but I could have put more effort into it. I think about 3/4 of the way through my blood sugar dropped and all energy was lost. But I slowed myself down and finished the class. I think I was/am a little dehydrated because I began to cramp all over as we cooled down and stretched. I'm better now, but my body is pretty exhausted. I've kicked ass these past two weeks... joining this forum has been amazing motivation!

Anyway my points are written down on a piece of paper way over there and I am too tired to go get it. But I can tell you one hot dog on a bun is NOT worth it... its a total of 8 points!!! If I had only looked in the book before hand I would have never eaten it! Its a good thing I only had one.... This is me thinking about my boss pounding down 4... Oh well that's what salsa is for!

I decided that I will rest tomorrow. My body is telling me to ease off a bit and I am more than willing to listen. If anything I will get up and foam roll and stretch... hopefully that will help with the soarness... and then I'll jump back into things on Thursday with weight training and running intervals as Trops has suggested.

Tomorrow is also my Dad's birthday, which means eating out. But he chose red lobster... I think I can actually stay on track... as long as I have it prepared my way! And if not then I'll be flexn'!

That's all for tonight, I'm off to bed!

Night Night

Hey girlie, if you are cramping after a workout you need to make sure you get in more potassium.(bananas) Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, and getting enough salt in your diet.

Do listen to your body and rest when needed. You got the rest of your life to work out so no need to push it to the limits right out of the gate. Besides, your muscles need rest to repair and get stronger.

Sounds like you are doing great w/the exercise and diet. But one thing I would like to point out is that you called yourself "fat" multiple times in your previous post. No more of that missy. Try complimenting yourself and thanking your body for all that it is doing for you. Thinking positive is much more constructive than criticizing yourself Put your energy into good thoughts and you'll be able to achieve all that you are dreaming about!!

Thanks lady for the info. I eat at least a banana a day, but I will look into other foods that contain posassium. As for the water I know I didn't get enough yesterday but I am back on track today.

And I agree about needing rest. I am usually pretty good about listening to my body and what it is telling me. I am better today after a good night's sleep, but I'm still going to just relax today.

As as for me calling myself fat... its a bad habit I have and I am trying to break. One of my co-workers just told me that I need to stop loosing weight and that my face is getting too skinny. I have a very skewed image of myself which I am also trying to break and I am getting better about it. Loving yourself is hard to do... or I think it is... there is always room for improvement!

But thanks for stopping by and the encouraging words!

Hi MissD! Are you eating any sort of post workout meal? I always have a shake within 30 minutes of completing my WO. It can really help with with recovery. I saw a huge difference when I started that and my wife says she can tell also. If it is to inconvenient to make a shake a real fad right now with S&C coaches is low-fat chocolate milk.

Don't listen to your co-worker. It's funny how people who have only known you heavy don't like it when you lose weight (i'm making an assumption here that this person didn't know you thinner). If they knew you when you were thinner I'm sure they would say you are looking great. You never know what your co-workers agenda is...so I'd take it w/a grain of salt and listen to yourself. People always have weird things to say when you are trying a new diet or workout regime....everyone always has their two cents. I have learned over the years that less is more when sharing my personal weight loss goals w/friends and family. The more you talk about it the more they get involved in your journey and point out when you fall off the wagon...not cool.

I have a very good friend of mine who always tells me that I look great and don't need to loose weight, however, she herself has an eating disorder and is really thin. Go figure...you would think she would share weight loss tips w/me! lol

Start telling yourself you are beautiful...even if you don't feel it...Fake it until you feel it!!

I don't normally, no. When I was with my trainer I would take in a protein shake before I worked out, but rarely after. And now when I workout in the morning I finish and go on with my morning routine... shower, "primp", pack breakfast and lunch, and out the door... I don't eat anything until 2 even 4 hours later. And then for my evening workouts it depends, sometime they are after dinner and sometimes they are before... And I've had my blood sugar drop before more often when I workout before eating something...

I have been looking into a protein called "Tight Curves" its made for women, but am a little hesitant... its expensive and most are.... I don't know about the coco milk... I think I would have a hard time getting that down.

Yeah I try not to listen because I know that I still have a ways to go. But everyone, well most everyone in my office is open with our heathy goals. We started the biggest looser 2 years ago and everyone is doing great. I am currently at the lowest weight of my adult life and having their support has been super helpful. But I agree that everyone wants to tell you how to do it or what you are doing wrong. I myself just try to be supportive and offer help when its asked.

I have plenty of friends that hate that I have lost weight or have tried to de-rail my efforts... and then I have those few real friends that support me all the way through... even though they all think that I am beautiful and don't need to change a damn thing... LOL aww friends gotta love em.

I will try to start to tell myself that, but again its a battle with myself. To me I don't ever make the grade there is ALWAYS something I find that is wrong... wheather is has to do with my weight or not.... Like most I was teased ALOT when I was younger and even as an adult (looser boyfriend used to pick at me daily) and it really took a toll on me mentally and that has been one of my biggest struggles. But every time I look in the mirror I am getting better at liking what I see.... it will take time though...

You should try a whey protein shake after your workout, preferably within 30 minutes. I though the milk would be gross while I was hot and sweaty but surprisingly it goes down really well. Ive always thought your body knows what it needs and will tell you when it is getting it. They may be why. After a workout what you need is carbs and proteins.

I don't know about the Tight Curves. It may be a fine product but I'm not sure it is meant to be a PWO meal. The carbs seam to low to me.

Here is an interesting read. It is a body building site but the writer John Berardi is a well respected sports nutrition writer.

I can tell you that it has only been within the last few weeks that I have truly began to believe that my body is wonderful just the way it is. It was a like a light switch turned on and all of the sudden I realized that I am beautiful and healthier than I have been in years. I think the running has really done wonders for my self esteem. Not everyone can go out and run a 1/2 marathon w/out being sore afterwards. That in itself is proof that I am getting to be in the best shape of my life although my mind doesn't want to believe it due to the number on the scale.

I do have 15-20 more pounds to lose but what helps me feel better is knowing that I am stronger, I eat healthier, I look better, and I AM BETTER. Stick to what you are doing and try everyday to thank your body for all that it does. Don't be so hard on yourself. We only have a short time on this earth and we might as well spend it being happy!!

Hey, MissD. I'll take a banana with me to the gym and leave it in the cup holder for when I leave. Just eating something is important. You don't want your body to think that after all that work there is no reward.

I typically workout at home... I'm a poor college student and can't afford a membership. And if I am going to salsa I try to eat something about an hour before. But I will try eating something soon after my workout... I usually am not very hungry though.

Thanks for the help!

So I didn't post at all yesterday, things were kind of a whirlwind of commotion.

I am pretty tired today and don't really feel great. Just kinda bleh... Yesterday was my Dad's birthday so we went out for dinner. I had 9 points left for dinner, but I know I used waaaay more than that... which is probably why I feel so ugh.. right now. We went to red lobster and I should have known that everything was going to be soaked in butter, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I had the broiled sampler, with shrimp, scallops, and flounder and instead of a baked potato or rice I had the steamed vegggies... which was the only thing that I would consider healthy on my plate. I had a cesar salad to start and again was pretty dissapointed it was drenched in dressing... Lets see I didn't have any bread and Stephen ate most of what was on my plate, which I was glad for. However we did have cake at the end of the night... I had a tiny piece, but I still felt pretty bad about it... But today is a new day... and so far I've had a hot tea... guess I should eat my breakfast now that its almost 9... there was work on my desk so I put my breakfast off...

Stephen and I decided that we are going to do our circut tonight, which I am happy for. We haven't done it consistantly in a few months... and I hate to put the blame on him, but I'm going to. He likes to find better things to do or make excuses... I've done it by myself a few times, but I feel like I am in the way because all our equiptment is in the living room... where he is usually watching tv or a movie and I dont want to interrupt.... But hopefully there won't be any excuses tonight and if there is then I will just do it by myself!!

I only work 4 days a week so I am looking forward to my Friday off. My office is very flexible with my hours and even though they hired me as a full time tech 3 years ago they support me in going to school and getting an education. I busted my butt last semester (I was taking 17 credit hours and working 25 hours) and felt that I deserved a little time off this summer. And its been great so far. But either way I am looking forward to just vegging out tomorrow....

Thats all for now... I'll post my eats later...

Don't beat yourself up over the meal. I doubt you did as much damage as you think. Just get back on the horse and put the spurs to it!
