Rep Power: 0 | | Real bad couple of weeks. I didn't match for a residency on match day. I had to scramble. During the depression stage of grieving I threw my diet out the window. Then of course while I was checking out unfilled programs... doing interviews again...they feed you well. Well, I finally was offered a couple good slots and so I dont feel like such a loser anymore so Im starting my diet again. Whoa, that was a real bad week or two, I gained like 10 lbs. Today was a better day food wise, but not 100% effort yet. I still need to develop an exercise program too. Maybe later. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | back in the saddle again So Ive started dieting again. Im on like day 7 or so. Doing pretty good. I have gained a few more pounds than my max before so I have a few more to lose. I was at 293 to start. Today Im at 282. Things have changed since my last post. I am now in Houston TX. I have free food at all time, its very challenging to not eat, even when the food is not very good. I have tried dieting a few times but have been so busy I havent been able to concentrate on my weight much. Things are looking up and I feel more motivated than I have in a while. I have a kayaking trip planned in one month that has really been motivating me. For exercise I havnt done a whole lot, but I have done a little here and there. I have been swimming laps and I even hit the treadmill for 45 min. yesterday. I figured I should get back on this forum because it always helps to have some support. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Thankyou for the welcome back. My birthday was yesterday so I had a few planned exceptions to my diet. Today its been hard to get back on track, but Im feeling pretty motivated. I think I will do some treadmill time to make up for yesterdays transgressions. One thing that was nice to see is that I wasnt able to eat much yesterday, my stomach has already become used to smaller quantities. Anyway, I have not made progress over the last two days, but I haven't fallen completely off the wagon either. Im pretty excited about loosing weight and cant wait to fit into some of my nicer...smaller clothes. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Did Great today I did great on my diet today and even did 45 min on the treadmill. I was a little worried that my bday would take me off track but it didnt. Its always risky to deviate from the plan much when I just started. As they say, it takes 21 days to start a good habit and 7 days to break it. I only had about 7 days so it wouldnt take much to break a good thing.
I forgot to reply back yesterday bansheebabe, Yes, I miss Utah a lot, I did travel up to SLC a month ago and stopped in Moab. It had been 2-3 years since Ive been there. Makes me sad considering how much I used to look forward to going a couple times a year. I dont think I will make it there for the jeep safari this next year either though. |

Hey no prob! Ohhhh, how sad! Well, me and the hubby are going to buy a Polaris RZR this weekend that can go to the dunes and do some semi-rock crawling... I will have fun for you and then send you pics! It is so pretty right, we have had lots of rain and the moutains are gloriously green!
Keep on track my friend and if you need any help, we are all here!!! |

Rep Power: 0 | | One thing thats very challenging while trying to lose weight is social events. Birthdays, meetings, parties, graduations. We had a graduation ceremony last night, it was a big thing and it had a buffet style meal. It would almost be socially unacceptable not to eat. I had done good all day, I went to the ceremony and had one plate that was reasonable. I skipped the desert line which is quite an accomplishment for me, so I felt OK about how I did despite eating a regular meal. Didnt get the chance to exercise but my legs have been sore so every other day might be best for now anyway. Today Im going out on the jet ski (which can be a workout in itself depending on the waves) then Possibly swimming, and the treadmill later this evening. Diet has gone well so far today. I have nothing planned today that can put the diet at risk so Im sure Ill do good.

Rep Power: 0 | | Doing good. Working out at least every other day. Diet has been ok. I did have a few extra calories yesterday as I was working a hard shift at work. Its hard to stay on track while working. We had a couple reps bring some food. I ate some chicken, and potatoes, but stayed away from the brownies, cheesecake and candybars that were there. I could have done better though. Today has been a lazy day, but I havent strayed from my diet plan at all. I may hit the treadmill a little later this evening if I can build up some motivation. I lost a few pounds quickly since my last post, but then have stayed there for a few days.

Rep Power: 9 | | | Hey Moab! Don't be jealous... although, it was super amazing this weekend and we went twice out on the sick RZR!! So, I'm seeing you are doing quite well and I'm very proud of you for staying away from the dessert line.... way to go Idaho! Keep up the good work! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Well, Im still plugging away. I went on a 6 day kayaking trip last week. I wasnt really planning on losing weight and .... I didnt. But I strayed from my normal diet so I didnt burn out paddling. I probably did lose some weight actually, but then went to my sisters house and didnt get back on the diet. Im back on now, I lost about 9 lbs since my last post. I could have done better, but Im not too upset because Im still on the right side of weight change. Im still trying to motivate myself back on the treadmill, but havent made it since I got back from kayaking. Im taking another trip to the same place (lake Powell, UT) next week. but this time I will have the whole family with boats and jet ski's and lots of food. Its going to be hard to not slip too far, then to get back on track when Im done. We will see. I have this whole week to get back on track and get motivated before the next trip. Lots of work! |

Rep Power: 0 | | I got back from the trip, didnt do too well while I was there, but spent a lot of time working on the boats which keeps me from eating. Mostly cause I was pissed that the boats needed to be worked on. Anyway, the day after I got back from Utah, I weighed in at 273. Kinda disapointing, but I got back on track and the weight fell off like a prom dress. When I left I was 265. Ive kept it up and now my current weight is 260. I cant wait to be in the 250s again. A few people have noticed my weight loss, though not much as I would like. The 240s is where I really start to look like Im slimming down, and I start to look almost normal under 220. Its almost sad that I know my "weight zones" so well. I still haven't been working out though. My wife is training for a marathon so Im a bit jealous because Im a runner and Im too fat to run. I got her into running and historically I always kicked her butt...oh well, I guess its her turn for the glory. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
