Question Inches gone but the number is the same?

OK, so I have been exercising for about 4 months and lost 20 pounds so far. I have lost inches in the last two of the four months but the scale hasn't changed. Or my weight hasn't changed...if the scale changed I would be worried. XD

I increased my distance when I walk by half a mile... but that is the only change I have made.
I hit the numerical brick wall and I can't walk more than 2- 2 1/2 miles yet.

suggestions? ty ty

I do more than walk too.. I do about 30 minutes of abdominal exercises, and 5 pound weights for arms.

you've lost inches... so what's the problem?

inches are far more telling that what the scale says... because it means you're making changes to your body and getting smaller -which is probably what you want.

Don't get so hung up on the scale number -as no one but you (and your doctor) will ever know what that number is - spend some time in the before and after pictures forum - you'll see tons of comments -YOu don't look your weight...

So with that lecture over...

What are your current stats... height/age/weight
What does your current nutrition plan look like - ie how many calories a day are you getting?
Are you doing other than walking for exercise - ie strength training...

and do spend some time reading the stickied threads in the forum -there's a lot of valuable information that will help you

Hey there!

My weight loss has pretty much halted too, but i still lose inches everywhere. The number on the scale really does not matter as much as how you feel and how you look. Sounds like you're doing everything right so far, I'd keep it up and as long as you see results then things are going great!

umm... 23 yrs, 5'7'', 245Ibs.

I am not counting calories but I eat three small portions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I will have string cheese or a banana for a snack if I feel like I need one.
I have pretty much cut out soda, I might have one or two a week. (instead of one or two a day) And I drink more water now too.

besides walking 5 days a week, I have sets of abdominal and back exercises I have to do by doctors orders. Crunches, left lifting, stretching, etc...
I have a S1 degenerate disc in my lower back.

I lift 5 pound weights to help focus on my arms, but 5 pound weights is all I have so until I can get more. Kinda stuck with those for now.
