Talking Beyond the Flab : The Travis Oswald Story

Ok...I have been reading through the diaries/journals of other members, and I must say they are just amazing.

This is my first day here at WLF and I am so ready to begin my new life!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

So I have a small story that just happened to me that I am slightly proud of. It is dinner time here where I live and I got up and started looking around for something to eat. My family stocks nothing but things like Frozen Pizza and macaroni and cheese, so I was worried that after i posted on a weight loss forum that I was going to change, that 5 seconds later I would just say "Screw it" and grab a pizza. I literally stood in my kitchen for about 10 minutes looking at labels and seeing what else we had. I was originally going to just have a few small pizza bites. Then I thought maybe some ramen noodles. Then i saw some whole grain bread someone picked up at the store (probably my mom). I picked that up (passing over the white bread I would normally use and decided to make a sandwich. The sandwich had to be peanut butter (low fat) because we had no chicken/turkey or lettuce or anything to put on a real sandwich. I picked up some baby carrots to snack on the side, and I was set. Eating it may not be exactly health food, but it definitely made me feel better than I knew a pizza would make me feel!

I am thinking about going back in there and grabbing some pineapple! It sounds so goooooooood.

I'll be back tomorrow...I am going to start an exercise regiment tommrow, as well as go to the grocery store to pick out some food items for myself that will hopeful make eating much less of an mystery!

Adieu for now

Travis!

p.s. Ill be posting pictures soon, my camera isn't cooperating with me at the moment.

Hi Travis!

Good on you for picking up some whole grain bread and carrot sticks- sounds like a pretty healthy meal! When you're at the grocery store stick with some of the basics: lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes. They're great for sandwiches.

I wish you the best of luck with your weight loss journey!
