Rep Power: 5 | | RissyRay's Diary Thought I might as well give in and make one of these instead of lurking around here day after day.
I've been on this diet (well, more changed my eating habits for good) since March of this year.
I'm 21, 6' tall, and used to weigh 373 pounds.
Now, I'm at 277 and still have a lot to lose. But I'm getting there =)
Went from barely being able to fit a size 26 jeans to a size 18 now.
The person who I have to thank for this is my dear friend Kota, he started it and I saw it was possible so one day, very much out of the blue I decided to join him. At first all we did was not eat after 6 pm. I ate what I wanted just no eating after 6 pm. That helped me a LOT because my nightly ritual was to call my brother after I got off of work at 10 and ask him if he was hungry. He would come meet me and we would pick whichever fast food place we were in the mood for and just go at the menu like we were a family of 5.
I lost a huge chunk of my weight just doing that but every now and then I'll hit a plateu, change something about what I'm doing and I'll be on track again. Little by little my diet became more and more strict. Watching my fats at first, moved on to watching sugars, calories, the works. I'm still learning and trying to get my hands on anything that could possibly help me out.
I'm going to start back working out. Thank goodness I have a tredclimber at home =D
I'm in no rush, no time frame. I want to take the pounds off and keep them off. I'm not even sure about a goal. I've been told I'm supposed to weigh around 180... but I just don't know. Kota has been my support this whole journey, and I his.

Rep Power: 5 | | More of a "To Do List" this entry
Tomorrow morning I'll start working out again. About time I do anyways. I kind of miss it, I felt so much better throughout the day when I did.
I've strayed away from cooking my meals...
Had a South Beach Diet Sante fe chicken salad before I went to work, and a glass of fat free milk (not exactly the best drink to go with that salad lol but I crave milk in the mornings) it wasn't so bad but the easy meals have got to cease for me. I'm turning lazy again must cook!
And I've put this off for too long... I work at walmart and STILL haven't bought a lunch box! How sad is that?
Tomorrow I start keeping track
edit: Also, I'm noticing a lot of bruises over my body... at least 8 on my legs I've counted, one on my chest... I've been told it's from not getting enough iron? I dunno... anyways, I guess I need to look into that = /

Rep Power: 53 | | | Nice job so far!!
Sounds like a healthy way to do things, Little changes at a time. If you try too much at one time, sometimes it's difficult to stick with it.
BTW, do you ever get this? "your so tall, you carry your weight well". Six feet tall for a woman is pretty impressive (at 6' 8" I notice these things ya know?)
Keep up the good work. Glad you started a diary. It seems to help on some plateaus. |

We're just good like that
I don't think I would have stuck with it if I started out doing what I'm doing now. Too much to keep up with...
Thank you =) wish I would have made one sooner but better late than never |

Rep Power: 5 | | So I started the day out right! Walked on the tredclimber for 20 minutes (it's been a while) and had some Special K cerial with fat free milk and a glass of fat free milk on the side. Yeah, I love milk...
FINALLY bought a lunch box! And a magazine of "healthy recipes". After I looked at their nutrition facts I'm not so sure about the "healthiness" of them... mmmhm, I'm onto them
On my 15 minute break I tried one of those Special K's protein water packet thingy things, not bad.
On my lunch I had another South Beach Living meal... the southwestern chicken wrap with a bottle of water. And that's it.
...I know, I need to add more calories through my day. I'm working on it. Hence, the lunchbox. At home it's so SO easy to get everything I need to eat but at work it's a different story. Hopefully bringing my lunch will change that. I seriously need to break away from the convenient foods

During the normal work week, I can bring a lunch, actually I kind of have to, they roll up the streets at 10 o'clock in the little town that my company is in, and I work third shift.
On Saturdays I drive a cab. It is so hard to be good, when your on the road, running from place to place and drive throughs are too convenient. |

Used to I could go to lunch at 5 every day but "home office" started making our schedule so now I have later shifts. But I finally decided I'm going to make my job work with my new life style. |

Rep Power: 5 | | I love having off days
So it wasn't a one day thing, I worked out today also! 20 minutes on the tredclimber. I've talked to my mom, I want a bike for Christmas, and I even want it under the tree haha yeah I don't want to pay for it myself...
Now that I've finally lost over 100 pounds my gmaw is giving me $100 and I FINALLY get my birthday cake!
...5 months late. But that's okay.
I started my diet the month before I turned 21. eh
Started my day off with a breakfast of 3 eggs with a glass of fat free milk.
Had Specail K cerial again, I seriously need to let that go.
Green beans for lunch-ish with a cup of sugar free apple cider. I think I'm getting addicted to those I love the taste of anything appley when Halloween or Christmas roll around.
Snacked on grape tomatoes before my dinner and for dinner I just now had 1/3 of my Kashi Roasted Vegetable Pizza.
Which I'll get to have for lunch tomorrow because of my new lunch box! Heck yes I'm excited

I know, I need to add more calories through my day.
| definitely work on getting your calories up there... and add some more nutritious calories as well - special K is a nutritional wasteland - a cereal with higher fiber would be better for your body long term..
You want your calories up there because you're going to need some wiggle room down the road - when you've dropped your next 75-100lbs you're going to need to make a calorie adjustment and if you're already really low -you've got no room to go... |
