Rep Power: 4 | | Tomorrow is hockey night, I'm psyched to see the improvement! Tonight I had oven baked skinless chicken breast w. two tbspful of rice and a baked potato.
Any suggestions on the protein shakes? Good brands, brands to stay away from etc? I don't have the time to prepare food for lunch snacks every night and would like to stay away from spending too much time at Subway (only have a half hour lunch break and its the nearest healthy place to eat).
I'm looking forward to tomorrow night's hockey game to see my improvement, the first two weeks were an awesome difference in fitness levels. I can only look forward to getting better ! |

Rep Power: 4 | | Its that dreaded time of month, oh noes!
Hockey went really well for me physically, I'm so proud of my improving overall fitness. It's like night and day compared to 3-4 weeks ago!! Our team lost though, for some reason our team lost its brains and had several penalties in the third period and overtime.
Tomorrow night I am back at the gym with the trainer. I'm still on the fence about the whole personal trainer thing, I don't know if I'm unsatisfied with the actual training itself or buyer's remorse/cost. I do enjoy the moral support and she has shown me several new things, but am I hung up too much on the lack of more free weights? I don't mind the weight machines but always read that free weights are more beneficial.. |

Rep Power: 4 | | My book came in the mail, The New Rules of Lifting for Women. Reading it now. Yay!
Tomorrow is cardio night..
Kinda sleepy and I'll probably head to sleep after I make my diary rounds!
I went to weight training tonight, I found my quads were weaker than usual tonight - could be a result from last night's hockey most likely.
I am getting more room around the waist area in my pants, weeeeeee. One of the final straws of me deciding to lose weight seriously was the fact when I was looking at my work clothes that the pants was wearing around in the inner thigh section (lol). That definitely sent me into WTF mode. And, well, that is where I'm making the most noticable progress. Yay!
So yeah, thats kind of a silly story for me, kinda embarassing but yeah that was the last straw. Ugh!
I'm also having problems concentrating on hockey - I don't know if I'm just losing that competitive edge now I'm older, or I'm playing for fun. (I was WAY competitive when I was younger).

Rep Power: 4 | | I ordered this book from Chapters.ca on Sunday and it arrived Wednesday, been reading it since The New Rules of Lifting for Women by Lou Schuler. Very good, informative and has some humor in it. I didn't book another session past Monday with my trainer, I just may use this book instead as it has a 6 month weight/strength training plan in it.
Had a decent food day I guess. My brother ate up my cereal >.< - I have to go to the grocery store (again!) to buy more, and back again for yogurts. Gah, this is the one thing I dislike about the whole sticking to a weight loss plan, is the constant going back/forth to grocery stores for fresh fruit, vegetables, etc. To make it worse I live in an apartment and I don't have enough room to store extras. Booooooo
No exercise tonight, I will be making it up on Saturday and Sunday instead - I usually take Saturdays off but tonight I was sleepy after work and got in a great 2 hour sleep. |

Rep Power: 4 | | I'm down another pound, weee! Despite the fact its minimal at the time, it just feels so rewarding because it all adds up and this is the most focused I've ever been. I've had minor cheats, like a handful of chips or half a pepsi/soda but have always found it really smooth on getting back to drinking water instead.
Today I went and bought all my groceries I was low on, yogurts, cereals, milk etc. Also went to the gym and got my 40 min cardio going. I'm basically an introvert anyway so its not hard for me to stay focused on cardio.
I've been doing some online Christmas shopping, I have a couple gifts down and only a few more to go.
In other news, for Christmas I only have the 25th off I was too late in requesting my holiday time. I'm very discouraged about that. I'm going to be applying for a job with a different company, the company I currently work for doesn't have the best employee benefits and we are drastically understaffed. I'm only a junior analyst at the moment and they are asking me to perform senior analyst level work at a junior analyst payscale and I'm less than a year into my position so my work confidence is like shattered. wtf eh ... Overall I'm just not very happy about my job aspect at the moment. Gah.
I think my brother may be getting a gym membership at my gym, and all he does is free weights - so hopefully he comes and helps me out! haha, he's a skinnier guy and really active, so he'd be a positive influence.

Rep Power: 4 | | I weighed myself this morning as soon as I woke up, and I'm at 197! /cheer
I'm really happy about that progress! I had breakfast already and tried out this insane cereal called Fibre One - it looks like cat food haha, it tastes okay once you get past the aesthetics.
I edited my first post in the thread to include my Sunday weigh ins, and will be doing that consistently just to see the progress - I could see that information on my ticker graph too. But what good is that when other members can't see that sort of stuff, ya know?
I had a handful of kettle cooked chips and a tall glass of iced tea last night, it was SO GOOD - I wanted a bit more but reverted back to my water and had an orange instead.
Overall, I'm still in a great place mentally for all of this and have pretty much embraced the eating healthy and the not quite daily gym trips (4 of 7 days per week). This forum is such a great support system and I'm feeding off of everyone's stories and trials/tribulations. Not to mention I'm like a sponge when it comes to good information and I'm soaking up all the helpful posts!
I guess I should come up with some reward weight goals once I hit them. For fun and to keep things interesting. I'll go with 5lb increments. I bought myself a new pants and sweater last night as my initial reward.
My next goal is 190. I won't decide what i want until I get closer but it won't be anything too extravagant. |

Rep Power: 4 | | Monday night I did some squats, pushups, situps and bent over rows at home, I couldn't make it to the gym.
Sometime Tuesday our fridge broke and I wasn't home most of Tuesday, and never looked in the fridge so just found out today when I got home. EW, I lost all my fresh food and pretty much everything else.
My landlord is away until tomorrow, so I won't be getting my fridge fixed/replaced until at least tomorrow
No hockey tonight, I gotta clean my fridge and I'm exhausted from work. Been a really busy week at work. Gah!
Food levels/quality have been okay, although i did go to burger king with my bf during lunch yesterday and had fries. BAD! |

Rep Power: 4 | | Back! After an exhausting week and much needed time to mentally recuperate I am back to the gym. I haven't been there since last Sunday! the good news is I didn't gain drastically and was back at 199 yesterday AM.
Today I am also off to pick up some fresh foods again, our landlord purchased us a brand new fridge! Woo!
I'm off to the gym to continue my cardio | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
