Shandy's weight loss diary: Take 3--Action!

So, I was on here a few months back, then suddenly disappeared. Sorry! I didn't know what happened, how to fix it...I just got shut out. Come to find out that's because a certain over-bearing and insecure husband of mine went a little crazy for a bit. Good thing I love him or I'd have kicked him in a very unpleasant spot upon his return from Qatar. But, after much arguing, talking, bitching, and finally compromise, I'm back and at it again. For those of you that care for the gorey details, PM me. I'm not going into it for view of the public. just not happening.
But, onto the update and the start of a new journal...
I'm currently sitting at 133lbs. lowest I've been since before my eldest daughter was born. so I'm all proud of myself for that. Been eating great, working out when I remember to, and keeping busy by playing in the snow with the littlins and fixing the house up for when Matt gets home. We've got less than 2 months to go and I'm both looking forward to and honestly dreading his return. this deployment has been hard and I'm not sure how we'll end up at the finish-line this time. There's been more jealousy this time around than we were prepared for and it's changed things for us a bit. Nothing drastic, nothing horrid, just different. and I don't know how well that "different" is going to work in person. We'll have a lot to sort out come February. But that's a whole nother mess for another time.
Had a fantastic xmas season, great thanksgiving, and a fairly boring new years. But with any luck 2009 will be better than '08 and life will continue.
So...here's to being back FINALLY, and hopefully no one's too miffed. Guess we'll see.

Good to see you back! I know we've never personally talked but we share a lot of the same forum friends and people were really worried about you when you just up and disappeared like that! I'm sure lots of people are going to be happy to see that you are okay.
Congrats on the low weight and may everything in your life work out for the best.

thanks for stopping in and welcoming me back. I'm really sorry people worried about me, I couldn't figure out what had happened, or how to fix it. But hopefully, it won't happen again, and I should be on here fairly often now. not quite as much as I used to be, but certainly more than these past almost 2 months.

aww I get hugs and hurrays and everything. I'm glad no one seems miffed at me. I honestly should have expected some kind of jealousy over-load though. We had made it over half way through the deployment with no little green monster showing up. that's almost unheard of. So apparently, when it did show up, it went on a rampage. ah well. it could have been worse, and now that we've got a few more ground-rules set up, and LOTS of talking done, life can continue on (maybe not the same as before, but still well enough).

So, I have been eating like a horse, and doing almost no set exercise at all (I wonder if JZ is going to get all drill sergeant with me again?). it's a wonder I haven't gained back everything I've lost so far. But I'm hoping to get that squared away starting Monday (I refuse to start anything on January 1st). I don't think I'll be doing a whole lot of weight training, but I'll stick with the planks that have served me so well, and some low weight exercises. Nothing huge, nothing drastic. just enough to keep some of my lean mass and help burn off the bit of squish I still have. Other than that I'll be doing as much cardio as I can indoors seeing as it's all snowy and FREEZING outside. you couldn't pay me to do much of anything beyond watch the kids play in the snow. not when it's this damn cold.
And once AGIP gets out here in the morning and fills our damn propane tank, I'll be able to start cooking healthier meals again. I've been on a quest to find new recipes that are fairly easy, fast, and yummy. so far I've found a few that I love, a couple that the kids like, and some that I might actually make when Matt gets back too.

As far as progress pics go, I've posted a few new pictures on my profile on here. no really big changes with me, though Matt has gotten fucking HUGE. that man is going to break my ribs when he gets home. Maybe I should start weight training a bit harder. just to try and protect myself from accidental breakage....hrmmm.
But now, I'm off to go try and hunt up a snack that isn't chocolate. wish me luck!!

Shandy!!! GREAT to see you woman!! Glad you are back, and at an all time low too!!! Great job, whatever you were doing. I did, however read that "Hardly any weight training" thing.... I don't like it missy!! And, judging from the pic of "your" Matt on your homepage... HOLY SHIT!!! you had better hit the weights!! He's almost the size of Quatar!!! Looking forward too supporting each other... no riding this time... honest!! Keep up the great work, and don't make me re-add your mom to my speed dial!!
