My brother's getting married!!

Went to the bridal shop to get measured for my dress... talk about a big shot to my self esteem. =/ I found myself in a dilemna. Order the "big" dress or order the size I'm aiming for by June. =/ Decisions, decisions. I really wanted to go with a dress size a couple smaller than what I am so that maybe it would keep me focused, and also I truly believe in myself that I can lose weight by then. On the other hand, I didn't want to see $170 bucks go down the drain.

I went with the big one.

I'm not going to let myself think it's because I can't do this... I CAN! I'm just going to work my ass off to lose some pounds and then i'll be bringing that oversized dress to get "taken in".

I will not fit into that dress!!!

Hey hun! Smart move! You're working so hard and I'm sure that dress will be loose by this summer. I think it was smarter to go for the bigger dress just because you never knwo for sure where your body will drop the weight. So even if you get to your goal weight, some parts may be slimmer than others. It's better to get the bigger and be able to alter it to that it looks AMAZINGG and PERFECT on you! keep up all your hard work! it's going to def. pay off!

My goal for the wedding day, June 20th: 170 lbs (-35 lb lost)
  • Time until goal: 5 months or 23 weeks.
    • Need to have lost at least 1.53 pounds per week.
    • Daily calorie deficit is around 1500.
    • Achievable? Hell yes!!

Thanks, Lux. I obviously don't want to pay much for alterations, but on the other hand I'm kind of hoping I DO have to!! lol. I don't even know what 170 pound me looks like anymore... Can't wait!!

Good plan getting the larger dress and then just having it taken in after you loose weight. definately better safe than sorry, and as Lux said, who knows where the weight is going to come off exactly.
Glad you've got the right mindset to take this as a challenge not defeat. brava. you're right you CAN do this. it's amazing how much of a difference you'll see when they're taking in your dress. it's one thing to see the measurements and watch the scale go down, but when you see how much they have to actually take in on your dress, you'll feel great.
Keep at it!!

I wanted to save this somewhere so I can always come back to look at it! I've been wondering what a good balanced diet would consist of when considering portion size and measuring. It's from Amylosesandwins post!

The Food Pyramid: That allows for 6 servings of whole grains, 3 servings of protein, a minimum of 6 servings of fruits or veggies daily. I often have more fruits and veggies as snacks, and I eat some low fat or fat free yogurt as snacks sometimes as well. I am mildly allergic to dairy so I can only handle a little bit of it here and there. The food pyramid recommends 3 servings of dairy daily, though. So my meal plan consists of 3 meals comprised of 2 servings of whole grains (a serving size is an ounce, which is 1/2 a cup of cooked cereal, grain or pasta, 1 cup of dry cereal, or one slice of bread), 2 servings of fruits or veggies (I like to do a fruit and a veggie - a serving of cooked or canned is 1/2 cup, a serving of raw is a cup - I try to do as much raw as possible), and one serving of protein, which is about 3 - 4 oz. (roughly the size of a deck of cards). Then for snacks, I allow myself up to 3 snacks that can have 100 calories each. I often do nuts and bananas for snacks.

I know it! I'm really excited to see the difference! When I go get the alterations done I will be able to compare measurements taken.

I just got to work...

It smells like vinegar in here. Weird! Actually... I kind of like it. Hmmn.

Anyways... I'm not hungry today. I skipped breakfast because I was in a hurry to make it to class on time. So I had half a turkey/swiss sandwich at school. Then a couple hours later I figured I should eat more and went to subway. I still wasn't hungry and ended up eating half my 6" club. Now it's 5:15 and I'm thinking I should try eating again but nothing sounds good. So I picked up some protein shakes, because I hear I need more protein. So my cals for the day are about 900.

Is it bad when you're not hungry? I heard that when you're not hungry, and you didn't have that much to eat, that your body's metabolism has slowed down and is now "content" with not eating that much. God I hope it's not slowing down! I find it hard to believe my metabolism could possibly change so fast. Maybe it's just a fluke day.

I'm going to workout later tonight after work. I should really eat something in the next couple hours. YEESH... Dillemnas. Dilemna. Dillemna. I can't decide which one looks right.

Aside from that... I had class today for Phlebotomy. That is sure to be a blasty blast this semester. I get to stick people with needles!! But, they get to stick me. =/ I'm not scared of needles but my veins aren't the easiest to access. So I'm more or less worried that they won't be able to find em! Stinkin' veins. Medical Administrative class is boring beyond belief. I'm not even sure it's worth being in that class. We'll see how it goes...

My birthday is coming up... FEBRUARY 14TH!!! My dad and I have made plans to do our annual snowmobiling trip the weekend of my birthday. That's always a fun time. Just me and the father... We don't even really have much conversation when we go on our trips. lol. We have beers together and ride around to different places on the sled.

STORY!!

Last year when we went to this place (like every year) called Bimbo's. They have excellent pizza and it's a fun ride. We were riding around off trails in some powder and decided to stop and take a picture. So we take the pic, get back on the sleds, he takes off on his sled and UH OH mine won't "go". So I sat and sat and SAT there for what seemed like an eternity. Waiting for him to realize I wasn't behind him. I was even planning on how I would survive if he wouldn't ever come back to rescue me. Well finally he got back, found out I had busted the entire back drive train (or something or another) which is what makes the track move. So guess what? The sled was not going anywhere. We brainstormed and decided to try to tow it at least back to the main trail where possibly a good snowmobile citizen might stop and help. With the track not budging on my machine, it was impossible to tow. We were burning through my dad's belt on his sled just trying to drag it. We didn't have a sled/sleigh to put under the track (although I think now we should invest in one) so we were stuck. We left the sled there and decided to go for help. I had to sit on my dad's sled with him, my ass hanging off the back end, putt-putting with a burnt belt, all the way into town.

We get to Bimbo's, walk in, and LOW AND BEHOLD my brother's friend was there with some of his buddies. Now the odds of this happening are slim to none that Nate would be up snowmobiling with his buddies at the same time, same PLACE! Mind boggling. So all of these boys band together. One of Nate's friends had a two up that I could ride along with. So my dad rode back to our cabin (about 40 miles away) to get the truck and trailor. While the rest of us rode back to the snowmobile in the back of the woods. By this time it was dark, of course to make our already awesome trip even awesomer. We get to the sled and end up propping it up backwards onto another sled (the track resting on a long track rack). This worked until we had to make a turn and accidentally tipped it sideways. That was a bitch to get back upright. Moving on... We get to the road my dad said he would meet us at. He arrived about 30-40 minutes later. By this time we had already made a run back into town to bring back beer. We all loaded the sled... and... that's it.

The end.

Great weekend aye?! Maybe I'll tell you about the weekend we had the year before. lmao. That's a story too. Oh god, I wonder what's going to happen this year....

I'm sleepy again. My energy is up...down...up...down. hahaha. Maybe I just need a coffee. I am not sure if I'll go to the gym tonight. I have to work until 8 and tomorrow I have a big certification test for EMT. I need to study!! I'm so forgettful and the class ended a few weeks ago. I shoul have just taken the test right away but then life got in the way. I'm just hoping that when I'm in there taking the test everything will come back to me. Failing would just bum me out! So I'm going to be studying all day when I can at work and probably again tonight after work. Cram all that info in there!!

Agh.... My shoulder is killing me! I have no clue what I did, but every since I stretched this morning I can barely move my right arm. It hurts.

I really want to go workout but I don't want to aggrevate it even more. =/ I think tonight I'll just stay in and tomorrow I'll go. It should feel better by then, I hope!!
