Your diary — How it works
The diary is an invaluable aid in reaching your target-weight. Putting your goals in writing will motivate you tremendously in achieving them. That’s the success secret of weight-loss groups — and what works in these groups will work just as well on the Internet.
Try the following tips:
1. Answer these questions before starting your diary.
-- How much weight do you want to lose?
-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?
-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
(Suggestion: print this page and think about the questions when you have a few moments of peace and quiet.)
2. Post the answers to these questions in your weight-loss.fitness.com diary. This exercise will make your goals come to life and feel more realistic.
3. Begin your own diary. Simply click on the “New Thread” button, put your name and “diary” in the subject field (e.g., “Sandra’s diary”) and type your goals into the message box. Make sure to include your starting weight — be honest, it will help you and other members.
4. Stick to it! Once you begin your diary, you’ve already accomplished a huge step toward your target weight — but you must use it regularly. It’s wise to write in your diary on a daily basis, especially at the beginning of the process. Record successes and failures. Ask other members for advice and share your feelings. You’ll notice how helpful and supportive your diary will become.
The team at weight-loss.fitness.com wishes you the best of luck in reaching your goals!

Hi there, I'm new here. I decided earlier this year that I needed to lose weight, and I couldn't find any excuses as to why I shouldn't do this and succeeId. I tried a lot of different diet and after an initial weight loss of about 10 – 12 pounds in 3 to 6 months, I gave up. Well I am very pleased to say that I have finally started losing weight and I am so pleased.
I started my diet on May 31/05, at that time, I was 220 lbs. I am pleased to advise that as of yesterday, I am 184 lbs., a lose of 36 lbs. I still need to lose between 50 – 55 lbs. My diet is very strict, but it includes food from all the food groups.
I don’t eat anything “white”, potatoes, rice, flour, bread and no sugar and just 1tbsp. of oil or cream cheese each day. So far, I have a lot of energy, I take multi-vitamins and I haven’t felt this good in years.
Portion control is very important, more so then what you actually eat, so keep that in mind. I am looking forward to shopping for new cloths and more importantly, feeling good about myself and my successes.

Hi. I'm 7 pounds away from my goal weight. My problem is binge eating. I keep reading articles that say you need to find out the real reason why you binge eat (unresolved fellings...) in order to stop. My problem is I don't have any. I have a lot of stress, I work full time and I'm a full time student. But I think I handle the stress well. I eat good all week, but on the weekends, if there is a bag of M&M's in front of me, I eat all of them. I can't control myself. Especially Ice Cream, I can't stop at 1 big bowl, I always go for a second helping. I can't stop until I feel overstuffed and ready to burst. If any one can help, it would be greatly appreciated. I hate when I feel this way, I end up feeling guilty and depressed.

Hi, I have been on Cohen's for almost 6wks & lost 10kg in the 1st 4. I will start a diary but I am not sure how to go about it. I am finding the forum very helpful but feel like a total beginner as I've never participated in any forums before. Any help would be gratefully received. I love the Cohen's diet & can see myself continuing to eat this way forever(but with some wine & extra food) as I am not craving anything. Cheers, Cate

Ok I am going to help the both of you at the same time.
Starting a journal/diary is very simple. Just go the the diary section of the site and click the New Thread button at the top of the page. Just like you did when you did your introduction on the intro page (if you did that). You next step is to create the title of you journal. Feel free to use your name ...ex)"Jenny's Weight Journal" (my personal journal).
Once you have your journal/diary made you need to make the first post in it. You first post should be like an intro for you. Give your stats : age, height, weight, sizes...whatever you want to share about yourself. You should then describ yourself. What your hobbies are, what you like to do.
You can also share past experiences with your own personaly weightloss/gain. After you get your intro done feel free to come back and read what others have posted within your diary/journal. Then post again and answer any questions that some people might have. Share what you have done for the day in exercise. Share what type of day you had. This is YOUR journal. Do what you want with it.
I wish you all luck in your weight loss and I look forward to reading your journals/diaries. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
