Thanks, Cassie, it was a great feeling

Today, not so much, lol. My complete lack of cooking skill continues to amaze me. I wanted an egg salad for brunch today, so I boil up three eggs. After I thought they were cooked (that egg spun GOOD), I cool them off like I was intructed to last time I made them, and then crack one open - its still a little uncooked inside, ew! So I start up the pot and put the other two eggs back in, and let them boil extra long, I think almost a full 5 minutes - and they'd already boiled for 3 minutes before that. So I cool those ones off, crack them open, and got one almost entirely peeled when I noticed it was really jiggly, and split it open - the yolk hadn't cooked! Checked the other egg, same deal.

How the HECK do you boil eggs for EIGHT MINUTES and still have them uncooked inside?!

At least the grilled chicken salad I made for myself that was supposed to be for dinner was good - I'm eating it now because I am so darned hungry and so darned frustrated I couldn't possibly cook again right now. I'll just buy something for dinner at work.

Gah, three perfectly good eggs wasted!

Today's food/exercise/water totals:
big mixed greens salad (with mushrooms, onions, cheese, grilled chicken and an olive oil/re vinegar dressing)
1 cup cottage cheese
McDonald's bacon ranch salad w/grilled chicken again!

Water: about 1.5L

going to the gym tonight after work, looking forward to it! Gonna try to convince Josh to leave early and walk home since it so nice out

Thoughts:
Holy crap I cannot wait for this week to be over! I mean, I'm not going hungry EVER on this diet, but holy smokes am I getting bored of the tastes, and I'm not having much luck in finding new ways to season them well. What I want most of all right now is some FRUIT! I cannot wait for next week when I can have them again! The diet stresses that right after coming off of "Phase I" to slowly integrate the carbs and sugars in, but I'm sure if I have natural sugars rather than processed carbs its much better, and what I really want anyways. I think on my next shopping trip I'm going to buy a big ol' carton of strawberrys for the week

I also have to admit I snuck on the scales this morning: 185 This has motivated me extra hard today to not cheat even though I wanted a McFlurry sooooo badly when I was getting my salad! I gotta keep that off, and take more off! More, more!!

I just wrote a kind of long post about the lack of posts in my journal lately and reading far too much into it. I erased it because it was just so WHINY, and I know you can't all make it in here all the time. Its kind of silly to expect a dozen people to reply to each of my posts... but still it'd be nice to get 3 or 4 replies a day like some of the other journals. Guess I'm just not that interesting

Anyways, I don't have much of a plan for today, I just feel tired. My sister was kind enough to make me an egg salad for breakfast, as it turns out I was doing them entirely wrong yesterday morning. I don't want to go to school but I absolutely must because there are a lot of important things going on.

You're doing fabulous on your SB Diet!! I'm doing something similar with watching the carbs and I completely understand about the not having fruit. Who would have thought you would miss it this much Keep up the great work!

well I really liked fruit even before the diet, so I'm not entirely suprised

Anyways, I had a julian/chef salad for lunch, and then cheated and had a little frozen yogurt cup, sorry!

While I was eating though, I noticed other students paying for their food - my salad, yogurt, and diet pop was about $10 altogether. I *could have* gotten a whopper meal with large fries and coke for $8. No freakin' wonder so many kids get fat when they go off to school! I think they should have a program where the cost of the food is derived from the nutritional value of the meal. So something really high in fat, or more than say 800 calories for a meal (and I'm sure the whopper meal was at least 1500) should cost more than something very low fat, and/or low calorie. It would definitely encourage the poor university students to eat better, and they can still eat like crap if they really, really wanted to. Rather than the way they have it now, where you practically have to pay a premium to not eat yourself to death.

I'm such a smarty, I should sell that idea

I'm sooo with you on the healthier food costing so much more, it's just not fair!!! I've always HATED skin, crust and that sort of thing on my chicken and it's so easy to find a $1.00 chicken burger at EVERY fastfood place, and only like $4.00 for a bigger one, but for a regular none crusted or I guess it's really called "breaded" it's more like $5.50. Stupid! Anyway, don't worry about how many people respond to your entry's, I feel the same way sometimes. I think sometimes people just don't know what to say. Don't think anything of it!

Oh man, the 'chicken burgers' aren't even real chicken, ew! I always look for the 'grilled chicken SANDWICH' and then I at least have a chance at getting real meat I can't even chew on a McChicken burger without gagging.

Hum, egg salad tastes especially delicious this morning. And the rain makes it smell nice in here. I am just in a very very good mood today

Too bad I have to finish this paper, but that's okay, I think I'll like doing it too!

Heh, that's two people now that I've found have the same anniversary/wedding day I guess its just a lucky day.

This post is more for me than anyone else, I just need to get my thoughts in order, so here's a to-do list for me over the next few days:

- wash my bedding and do a couple loads of laundry (today)
- do the dishes that I've managed to put off for 2 days now, and they're getting gross (today)
- work in a nap so I don't collapse (today)
- drop off a paper at the university before 4, and then head into work (today)
- go to the gym after work; make a suggestion that they get a rowing machine (today)
- go through a massive amount of chatlogs for my term assignment in my research class and code the chat per my outline (negotiable, due on wednesday)
- STILL finish some swedish work, though I think I have it down to a manageable amount (negotiable, want to have at least something to hand in tomorrow, though monday will also do)
- go grocery shopping for the next weeks of food, or go with my family when they go. I want to pick up berries the most (sunday)
- start studying for finals - I have swedish on the 19th (and a take-home oral before then), media on the 24, and research methods on the 27th (I don't have to start studying seriously until the 15th)

okay, this is manageable

Food for the day:
2 egg salad
1 cup of mixed nuts
large chicken caesar salad

I was actually really surprised, I was getting pretty hungry but also still had to do the dishes, so I just got a small bowl of nuts to munch on while I worked, and by the time I was done I was actually full! Just goes to show the wonders of eating slowly I guess

Though I never did manage to find time for a nap today Starting to get one of those sleepy headaches now.

I love chicken ceasar salad but if I eat the ceasar dressing, I might as well have a burger, point wise. Wishbone makes a good ff ceasar italian dressing, but nothing's like the real thing, rite?
