Now i'm a little disheartened. I weigh myself & record the exact weight every two days to the precision of the nearest 0.1lb. This is the first time since I started (10 weighings ago) that my weight hasn't decreased. It has stayed at exactly 18.13.2 stone. I suppose I did overeat today, I had:

Weightwatchers bread-sandwiches when I woke up
One bag of crisps
Cereal at lunch
Two jacket potatoes and a can of baked beans with three slices of weightwatchers bread.

God damn it.

Wowsers... that's a whole lotta carbs going on there You might want to try adding in some lean protein (chicken, fish, lean beef, lean pork) and cut back on the bread considerably.. also where are the veggies not to mention fruit.

Might be an idea to sign up to a free FitDay account to get a handle on your calories...

FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal

my quick calculation on your last meal there is about 1100 calories.. a lot for one meal.

Baked Jacket potato is OK in moderation... but do bear in mind that one med-large one is about 280 calories plus whatever you put on top of it

Don't be disheartened tho, you are doing great, you just need to learn a bit more about your food intake

I certainly do, I couldn't tell you my carbohydrates from my carbondioxides.

I was told that jacket potatos were VERY low on calories. They lied to me, dammit.

Thanks for the link, i'll give it a go!

Can somebody give me a quick rundown as to why too many carbs or not enough protein or vice-versa is important?

Thanks for that, i'm still not 100% sure on why carbs and protein & the such are vital, but i'll talk to my doctor on Tuesday about it if I remember as I have my blood pressure taken.

I've eaten a little too much dinner tonight, everybody was having chips which I had with chicken nuggets & peas. Unfortunately I was given a little too much, and i'm just somebody who won't leave food on his plate. Still, I didn't eat much earlier in the day, hopefully it balances itself out. I'll know later I guess when I weigh myself.

Something that's always intrigued me, how long does it take to affect your weight after you've eaten? If I eat, say, 600 calories, does it immediately get added to my weight when I weigh myself or is there a number of hours until it gets added?

Well, today marks the third day in a row that i've weighed exactly 18.13.2 lbs. Three days in a row and its not moved up 0.1lbs? That's really bad.

Let the bad times roll.

Wink

I don't think that's bad, it takes time for this consistent exercising and intake of the right foods to hit the system.

I sat at 150 lbs for about 2-3 months. So I ate less. I still hadn't been eating all that well. Wasn't really paying attention to what I was putting in my mouth. Just trying to sort out other mini goals, like adding more water, eating sweets less, Not eating after a certain period of time. ect..

Over the last 24 hours i've lost 1.6lbs. I'm not quite sure, especially as my weight was exactly the same for three days running (to the tune of 0.1lb precision) and then today it went way down. I did kill myself earlier playing football but I'm not sure how much that would have affected it, a single occasion as it was. I wasn't ready for it, I went for a kickabout with my 11 year old sister who ditched me (yes, I was ditched by an 11 year old!) and while I waited for her to return I joined a couple of lads who were playing. Unfortunately, male pride being what it was, I wasn't going to be shown up and busted my.. yes, didn't stop running for the entire game I played. I remember after I got home I took off all my clothes and dosed myself in water.

I know weight fluctuates so i'm going to guess that's the reason for the sudden 1lb+ drop today and not so much the dieing of breathlessness that occured.

Anyway, we're moving in the right direction again.

Thanks for the input above there, RunningGirl. Just wondering, I touched on it earlier, if I eat a large meal, how long would it be until it's added fully to the scale number?

Sorry I don't know, but that's a good question you could try asking it in the "On Topic" sub-forum.

Great Job!! I am sure you lost some too!

Hi there!

That is a good question, I really dfon't know the answer to that. I should imagine it take a wee while for your body to break down the nutrients and convert and store things if that makes sense. But I guess the mass/weight of the meal will be added if you stepped on the scale straight away. Anyway that may be rubbish.

I just had a google and found this link, it might be a bit more helpful!

how long does it take till you gain the weight from a binge

How Long Does it Take To Gain Weight? | why does weight fluctuate during the day, how long does it take to gain weight | FitSugar - Fitness, Health & Well-being

About the chafing stick - I see from you Avator that you're in Derby? Just pop into Boots asnd get some Lanacane anti chafing gel. Its about £6. They also stock it in superdrug and its about £6. Its in the scetioon where the antifungal creams are. Another idea, and one that I use is baby oil. Not too much but just apply some to the bits that rub, works wonders and its a bargain too.

So i'm very worried. I'm going to apologise ahead of time because I know that most of my posts are of moaning types & are not a pleasure to read, I know that, & I apologise.

Anyway, today I started my new job. Well, not a job, but volunteering job. I'll be working the odd shift every week for British Heart Foundation. I did that for two reasons really, one because I had nothing to do with my time while i'm out of work, and two, the reason i'm telling you, is because I know I have a tendency to eat when i'm bored, and being out of the house doing some work will get rid of the boredom factor. In fact, I had a lot of fun! Surely a one-off.

Anyway, the problem started when I got home. It was a gorgeous day. Bad? In this instance, yes. Because for the first time in a year, we had a Bar-be-que!

Yes, my mum & stepdad, looking forward to it as much as they were, went and got a variety of lots of burgers, sausages and some sort of grilled lamb and chilly stick.

I obviously had a lot. Because it was right in front of me. I had absolutely, absolutely absolutely loads.

And now i'm very concerned because I can't weigh myself tonight, we have company staying over in the only room in the house with a genuine flat surface.

I have lost 11lbs this month and it feels like i've put half back on just today.

Bad, bad times.

Well sorry for TMI but whenever I over indulge after watching what I eat, I POOP!!! lol sooo maybe you will too! and because you're doing well and being conscientious of eating and exercising that one day will be like it never happened.

I don't think you moan in your posts. I like reading them.

Why thankyou miss.

Disasterous news. It seems like that BBQ and late sleeping/no exercise today (bank holiday FTL) means i've actually gone backwards.

I've actually put 0.4lbs of weight on over the last two days.

Terrible, terrible news.

Was a bloody nice BBQ though.
