Ashley's journal, last 30-35lbs.

Howdy! My names Ashley, im 21 5'5 and weigh 155. Over the past year and a half i lost 80lbs and have been struggling around 150 for a couple months. I lost the 80lbs with almost no excersize and changed my eating habits completely. Lately i have been eating everything in sight without even being hungry and gained 5lbs in about a week, i recently broke up with my 1st real boyfriend so i kinda blame that and have been going through a hard time. When i wake up tomorrow i plan on going back to my strict diet and throwing in exersize and hopefully that will get me losing the weight again. For some reason exersize has been the hardest for me and i just cant motivate myself enough to do it so thats gonna be some work. I love to walk but its been raining about everyday in NY so time to buy some dvd's!

I just joined this site today and hope to find some friends who can help motivate me and i can do the same.

I'll be back later/tomorrow letting you guys know how my 1st day was! I hope to be back everyday with good news =]

Kori will become famous soon enough
Hey rebirth87! Welcome to the site, sorry to hear about your bust up, and the gain, but wow!!! 80lbs! that is fantastic! I am sure you can get the last 30-35 off

What did you change about your eating to lose the weight? I am interested in you saying this as I really hate obvious "exercise" too, whilst I love being active and doing "stuff" like walking and gardening and things like that, working out is the biggest snoozefest I can think of!!! hehehe So it is inspiring for me to hear that it can be done without major exercise.

Looking forward to hearing more from you

Hey Kori,

I feel like i kinda cheated with some of the weight loss, i didnt really have to try so hard at 1st. From age 7-19 i was on medication with a weight gain side effect, i was on about 2 or 3 different kinds all with that side effect so it made it really hard to lose weight while on it. I have been off for almost 3 years and i believe thats a huge part of how i lost the 80lbs. I have tried a few different diets and i found calorie counting to work best for me, i started at around 1500 and lowered it to 1200. Lately i havent been so strict but im still watching what i eat. Like i said i hate exercising and cant get myself to do it but not losing for a couple months is starting to annoy me so now i think the only way to start losing again is to exercise like crazy! I know most people say exercise is a must but i kinda proved it isnt, atleast to a certain point. Maybe you'll lose faster with it but i dont believe in pushing yourself to accomplish too many things at once so dieting was my 1st step and now my 2nd is the exercise. Going on a diet is a huge step so take it easy and dont get tired of it, when your ready throw in the exercise.

Thanks for your response and now i must be getting to bed! Fixing my sleeping schedule should help too lol, i stay up til 3-5am =[. Be back later to let you know how my day went. I found this nice exercise program in SHAPE magazine i wanna try.

Wow, 80lbs is a real accomplishment! Fantastic! I, too, find exercise to be the hardest part! I try to solve that problem by doing activities I enjoy like DDR, Badminton, walking, etc.
Word of advice though - don't go TOO strict with diet. 1200 cals is just too little, in my opinion. At minimum you should probably be taking in 1500cals daily without exercise. Id amp it up to 2000 if you are exercising. But I would look into it before you took my advice
Best of luck in getting rid of those last pounds! You can do it!

Thanks Pixie!

I was checking out that website and i got some ideas from it. I think im gonna stick to 1500 calories this time and when i get to finally exercising i may take in some more.

I woke up at 3pm after finally falling asleep around 5am and i just dont have enough energy waking up so late to do any exercise. Gonna do my best to get to sleep early today and hopefully exercise more tomorrow. I prefer to walk at night because i grew up so shy and i guess i get a little uncomfortable and paranoid when i walk during the day like people are watching or something. So im gonna try and walk before bed get in and take a bath and hopefully be tired enough for sleep.

So waking up at 3pm really isnt the breakfast kinda time so i had some orange juice went out and got a foot long wheat veggie sub from subway. I can live off of these i love them! I really cant tell the difference between veggie and it having meat on it lol. That should keep me full for a bit.

Besides me having trouble exercising i think drinking water is even harder, i sadly cant stand it. Im gonna stick to Iced Tea and try to drink water, i grew up only on soda so i cut that off completely.

I weighed in at 152.5 and im gonna try to weigh in once or twice a week and not everyday like i use to.

Be back later to let ya know how the rest of my day went =]. Thanks again for the support.

I went for a short walk with my mother and just got in but gonna go for another one in a few minutes, Its nice having my mom to walk with but she doesnt walk as long as i would like and she walks about 1/2 the pace. Gonna make my next walk about 40min and go in the direction of the nice big hill! Heres a list of what i ate today :

8oz Orange Juice
Wheat Foot long veggie sub from subway. ( only sub jared should be allowed to promote lol)
16oz Iced Tea (I hate so many calories coming from drinks!)
2 Pieces thin grilled chicken with spinach.
I had my 1st bottle of water in years! (Trying for atleast 2 tomorrow!)

I know its not really a lot but i don't wanna force myself to eat if im not hungry. Gonna try not to eat after 9pm aswell.

I gotta go food shopping this week, don't have many options to choose from at the moment.

Heading out for my walk now.

I got in from my walk and was really hungry so i had some egg whites with a slice of cheese but i was still hungry! So i had some spinach, i dont feel so bad since i ate healthy - the cheese. I hate eating so late tho but overall for the day i only had about 1400 Calories and walked for an hour so i think im good. Cant wait for day 2!
