Richards brand spankin new diary!

Hey people what's up!! I go by the name marsh, don't ask me how or why they call me that lol. At the moment I'm a full time student at College Of the Desert, studying computer science and computer information systems. But trying to fit in a workout schedule "IS A PAIN IN THE ASS" because school feels like a full time job with all the homework i get.

Hopefully i didn't bore you guys lol.Well anyways I'm new to this site and this is my very first time actually taking the time to put up a diet and exercise diary, so hopefully this works out!

Alright lets get to the point now, I started off at 345 pounds last year around November, couldn't even run for a 20 seconds, but thanks to god, i can now run for a good 6 minutes straight without stopping! I was at exactly 280 last month and somehow someway i gained 15 pounds, its piss poorly annoying but it happened and i can feel the difference. But ill make the effort!

Alright well here i am at 345 with my tank top, which was around December. The following picture is of my quadruple chin that i took in January 12, and the following is a picture i took just right now. I can somewhat see the difference on my necks, i don't know maybe I'm just a bit delusional right now but yeah lol... you get me im happy im not 345 anymore but my goal is to reach 200 pounds!

http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8548/today07209.th.jpg

Forgot to mention I'm 19 years old 6'4 and currently weigh 295 and i do the following on a weekly basis.
  • Run 3 miles at 4:30 in the morning every 2 days Mon,Wed,Fri
  • Eat no more than 3,200 calories.
  • Off days i try to go swimming or lift some weights

-- How much weight do you want to lose? 100 Pounds and tone up muscle wise

-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight? I was supposed to reach my goal by the end of this year and I'm still going for it even if its impossible.

-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? Nutrition, Sleep, Work-out and try not to go on those binging diets and hopefully i pray that i will accomplish it by the end of this year.

-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal? I believe only God himself can give me this motivation that is lacking in me.

-- How realistic is your goal? Probably not as realistic but I've been working hard towards it so I'm not giving it up just yet.

-- When will you start? Already started and as soon as I'm done posting this, im going to go do my 3 mile run.

1. What is your current height and weight? 6'4 and weigh 295
2. If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be? 220
3. At what weight would you like to be at four months from now? 250
4. Why do you want to lose weight? To enjoy what god created for us, mother nature the beaches sports I don't want to be self conscious anymore.
5. Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event? Nope, just for myself!
6. What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals? Family get togethers, my grandmothers cooking too probably lol and School.
7. Why do you think that you now have a weight problem? Because i can't keep up with none of my peers in sports can't run a full mile without stopping and at times i feel depressed and believe me being depressed is not a good sing at the age of 19.
8. What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight? Avoiding fast food anything to do with grease and eat more natural foods.
9. Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight? Not necessarily i just gained all my weight when i came back down from El Salvador at the age of 6.
10. Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back? I always gave up on myself as a child and quit as soon i felt the heat.
11. What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work? I never had the desire or motivation to keep on going i had no purpose and felt there was no need for it.
12. Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time? Yes, of course that's how i shed the few pounds I've lost.
13. Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook? Yes occasionally, and if i don't I just cook eggs. I'm also trying to get in the habit of eating tuna and buying chicken so i can cook it. But other then that i just eat sandwiches and oatmeal and cereal. Lots of water as well.
14. How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go? IN-N-OUT but i buy the protein burgers when i do go there.
15. What are your three favorite foods? Burgers from In n out, BBQ ribs from babes and pizza.
16. What are your three favorite restaurants? Babes, Red Lobster and IN N OUT.
17. What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food? Substitute fast food for home cooked meals, drink water instead of coke and if i do end up going to a fast food get a salad or something low in fat.
18. If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different? My double chin and my man chest lol.
19. Do you eat when you are not hungry? Yes
20. Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)? Yes
21. Do you hide your food or eat in secret? Nope
22. Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed? Yes and it feels like a roller coaster at times.
23. Do you eat as a reward? Nope
24. Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer? Yes i took the T.V out of my room so i can be more active, but i still eat while on the computer.
25. What do you normally eat for a meal? I try to eat no more then 600 calories a meal
26. What type of snacks do you eat? Bananas, apples, grapes and a cup of milk with it.
27. In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing? I run every 2 days 3 miles and try to get some exercise in between the days.
28. Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home? I always exercise nearby home and just go to some nearby trails and mountains.
29. What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise? Playing Basketball, running and swimming.
30. What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals? My first reward was supposed to get a membership at a gym once i hit 280 but i gained it all back before i could even get to the gym lol. Also buy a bicycle once i hit 240.
31. Do you have rewards for certain goals? Yes of course i do!! Take off my shirt while at the beach and feel comfortable!!! lol

Just got back from this freaking heat.... 110 degrees outside felt like i was roasting marshmallows haha! I think i should stop wearing 2 sweat pants and jackets when running, it felt as if i was gonna pass out! I just finished eating 4 enchillidas and i haven't the slightest clue how much calories each one of them has but i ain't worried!! I'll be sure to pump some iron tonight.

Anyways i do have one problem when running and i was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on it. I gotten to the point where i got great stamina now but my legs feel like there going to give out especially my hip joint. It feels as if my hip is out of place or something, for a fact i know its not my muscles already been threw that stage! (AND IT WAS HELL) I've had this pain since i started jogging in intervals at 340 pounds and the pain comes and goes when i do intense running. Hopefully i don't have to go to the doctors or anything would hate to hear any bad news lol xD

Oh and thanks for the warm welcoming Seeker!

I would absolutely suggest going to the doctor about that.

Jogging is particularly hard on the joints, and even more so for those who are extremely heavy. You are probably putting too much stress on your hip.

I know I have bad knees, and I am not even going to attempt to run until I get down to 250lbs.

Is it both sides, or just one? If one, you may have a problem with your body alignment.

I do have to admit that I know next to nothing about running.

I have no idea but i kind of got used to the pain... But yeah the pain occurs on the right side of my hip. Like i can do a 10 minute run and all of a sudden i start feeling this pain dwelling up inside my hip joint area. No pain no game! haha no just kidding I'm not going by that motto anymore. Did that for the first month i worked out and was put to rest on the bed for almost 2 weeks! My body and bones felt like they were deteriorating >.<

Anyways, I'm having a hard time right now going to sleep!! I just ate a serving of cheese and drank a cup of water. I feel drowsy at the moment but can't sleep ughh!! Well yeah since i cant go to sleep i'll post up what i did today hopefully i can vent it all out and pass out lol...
  • 6:45 a.m. - Ate 2 servings of Oatmeal with 1 cup of milk and banana = 620 Cal
  • 1 P.M.- Went for a 3 mil jog at
  • Around 3 PM ate 4 Enchilidas and 2 cups of OJ so a good 1,200 calories right there
  • 6:30 P.M cooked 3 eggs, 1 Tsp olive oil, 1 slice of smoked ham, 1 slice of provolone cheese, and 2 slices of Whole wheat bread with some water!! = around 700 calories
  • Ate an apple and orange at 9:00 p.m
  • And just a few minutes ago ate a serving of cheese which was a good 100 calories with some water

*** By the way, i had such a freaking hard time resisting that extra two or three enchiladas but i did it! lol.... Doesn't really feel like i accomplish anything when i don't eat what I'm craving though. Because of that I've been craving that sun of **** ice cream, snickers or some soda pop!!! But hey i goto do what i goto do right? ffs lol

Oh man... this weekend went bad for me, you know the holidays and everything. Well i totally went off my healthy perspective mental persona and ended up drinking and partying and eating everything... I really hadn't done this for such a long time so i kind of consider it a treat i guess? Lol, well yeah last time i can remember going out with my friends and actually taking my mind off of school work and nutrition and looking after my little brothers, was a good 6 months maybe since January(It was my resolution to actually not drink lol..)!! But, ill be back on track this week so I'm not even going to sweat it!

This is my fall, but I'll be back up and running starting tomorrow right after i finish this dammn homework im working on lol!
