Life's too short! My journey to a healthier me.

Welcome to my new weight loss diary, you can view my old one if you wish, but I need to focus on now. This is my clean slate. Thank you for stopping by!

This first post holds a lot of important information for me, that will help me keep myself on track. Some people may think it's nerdy, or unnecessary even, but that's alright, because this is something I'm doing for myself, but I hope I can bring motivation to others as well.

My daily motivational routine:

Listen to:
The Climb by Miley Cyrus, and think of your weight loss goals, over and over if you have to.

Read these quotes:
"You must do the thing you think you cannot do." -Eleanor Roosevelt.

"You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be." -David Viscott.

"No matter who you are, no matter what you do, you absolutely, positively do have the power to change." -Bill Phillips.

"Never, never, never, never give up." -Winston Churchill.

"The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph!"-Marvin Phillips.

"The time for action is now. It's never too late to do something." -Carl Sandburgh.

"My will shall shape the future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own.
I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze.
My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny." -Elaine Maxwell.

Remember your goals, and your achievements:
Start weight: 320lbs.
Goal weight: 125lbs.
Current weight: 254.6lbs.
Lost so far: 65.4lbs.

My goal rewards are a reward I'm going to give myself for getting to a certain point in my journey!
Things I normally wouldn't do, or couldn't do before.

Goal reward chart:
275lbs to 250lbs = Buy myself a new workout outfit!
250lbs to 225lbs = Buy some jewelry!
225lbs to 199lbs = One-derland!! Go out to the movies w/ Hubby.
199lbs to 175lbs = Go get family pictures done!
175lbs to 150lbs = Go to Six flags!
150lbs to 125lbs = New family photo, celebration dinner, new wardrobe, and trip to new york!

Loved your quotes and am listening to Miley right now... I may just listen to this every morning to remind me !

You are already so awesome, you have lost so much and I know you can do it. The rest will come off too. My goal seems so small compared to yours, but we know, we each carry our own cross. So here is to making our crosses smaller and smaller until we walk unburdened!

I tried really hard on Thursday to get back on track but allowed an ice cream sundae and BK angry whopper, large fry, and giant rootbeer to stand in the way.

However, Friday was a lot better.

1 cup of orange juice with a fiber granola bar. 240 calories.
Lean cuisine chicken fett. alfredo. 270 calories.
4oz grilled chicken with salsa on top, broccoli and garlic bread. 251 calories.
2oz soft serve vanilla on a cake cone. 120 calories.
Small banana. 90 calories.
Turkey burger w/ jasmine rice, some garlic and herb cheese with 1/4 cup alfredo sauce and a package of broccoli w/ cheese (picture attached). 630 calories.
Vitalicious Vita Brownie. 100 calories.

Total: 1841 calories.
My calorie range is 1800-2000 calories.
Score = Perfect.

I'm pretty sure my fat was decently high, mainly with dinner, but, I am just going to focus on my calories and healthy choices through-out the day.

I honestly think I did a good job today with my food choices, much better than this last month's food choices has been, especially seeing how I did not plan today out in advance. I wrote my food entry and some of my feelings down today in my written food journal, which is a huge step, to me. Also, I got a good amount of movement in today because it was a Friday night, and I work in a restaurant. Although, I did not get any other exercise besides that...but, with time I will be able to reintroduce my exercise routine, which I haven't yet decided on, but I will, within the next week or so... if I say "soon", I will never do it, so I'm giving myself a set time limit.

The only thing that I didn't like about Friday was that I know I didn't drink enough water. I only drank 6 glasses, and I'm working on drinking a 7th one right now.

One more thing I'm trying to focus on is using this journal, and my written journal (written by hand) is trying not to just use it for "this is what I ate today" and that's it, which is a mistake I made with my last journal on here, but write in it, connect, and also write how I feel. Right now I feel really accomplished and proud that I made it through Friday... and on Saturday, at the end of the day, I hope to feel the same, and everyday after that. My plan is to take it one day at a time, one food choice at a time, and one movement at a time. There is no yesterday and there is no tomorrow. There is only today...because I know that if I don't look at it like that, then I will keep saying "I'll do better tomorrow", "I failed yesterday", etc.

No more putting myself down.

I can either be my worst enemy or my best friend, and frankly, I want to be my best friend, and help myself accomplish the goals I know I want.

In fact, I'm going to do some thinking about my current goal of how many pounds I think I can lose in what amount of time, and write it here when I figure it out.

Oh, I forgot to mention one thing about my current weigh in, is, I'm still on my TOM... so my weight will fluctuate a lot within the next few weigh ins, which are going to be on Mondays and Fridays. If I can wait til Monday that is!

Hi tamwalt,

Thought I'd pop in and say hi in your new journal. You seem to be off to a good start. Your Friday food looks yummy and healthy, well done you! My food has been slipping a bit and i think I need to get back to basics as well.

Good luck with the rest of the weekend.

Ana

Oh my god! I was looking through some pictures from my Son's first birthday last night and I found this picture of me that made me really see how much progress I've actually made since then! However, I specifically remember telling him to only take a picture of the book, a gift my Son got, and to keep me out of the photo, obviously he didn't listen to me, lol, that's ok...

I also attached some pictures to compare it to, and I will be adding these to my before/after/in-between thread too.

Oh, and, I weighed in @ 260.0 this morning.

Ok, so Saturday ended really badly... but... Sunday was good.

Orange juice. 110 cal.
Yogurt. 110 cal.
Fiber granola bar. 130 cal.
2 small bananas. 180 cal.
Broccoli & cheese with chicken & rice. 526 cal.
Chicken tender sand. w/ 75% red fat cheddar & 2 pieces of bacon w/ veg medley on the side. 465 cal.
Skinny cow ice cream sand. 140 cal.

Total: 1661 calories.
My calorie range is 1800-2000 calories.
Score = Decent.

I also drank 6 glasses of water.

I think I did good today, although my calories are low.

I'm so tired because I haven't slept yet and need to go to bed since it's past 6am.

I hope to type out some of how I'm feeling later today.

I am looking forward to my Monday weigh in simply because I want to see a accurate weight since now I'm officially off my TOM.

I agree with skinnywishes, you are looking great. Your face looks slimmer and slimmer in each picture.... well done.

Its good to look back at photos, I think when I look in the mirror its hard to see any difference (probably because you're looking every day eh?)...

anyways keep up the good work!

This morning I weighed in at 256lbs. I don't think I lost 4lbs over the weekend, but my body is flushing out some of the sodium and my TOM is over.

Today I could have made better food choices, but, I am still within my calorie range, so I'm happy for that.

Turkey club supermelt w/ broccoli no butter at work. 710 calories.
1/2 of a strawberry banana friend-z (like a blizzard), add walnuts. 265 calories.
6 buffalo wingettes, 20 tater tots w/ veg. medley and a sprite. 560 calories.

Total: 1829 calories.
My calorie rangeis 1800-2000 calories.
Score= Good.

If I get hungry again, Ill figure it in to my calories. My sleep schedule is wacky because I work nights. I woke up @ 3:30pm. Got home from work @ 12am and I'm eating dinner now. I don't eat anything 2-4 hours before I go to bed, depending on how tired I am and what time I woke up depends on what time I go to bed. Like I said, wacky.

Let's see, I woke up late today, at 3pm, even though it's my day off, which upsets me, but anyway, I didn't eat until 6:30pm, and since I was out shopping, I grabbed Dangelo's and it was delicious!

Dangelos roast beef and cheddar sub on wheat, large with a can on sprite. 756 cal.
Skinny cow ice cream sand. 140 cal.
1/3 cup Fruit and nut trail mix. 170 cal.
1/4 cup Dark chocolate covered almonds. 230 cal.
Trader joes apple juice drink. 50 cal.
Lean cuisine pizza. 300 cal.
Sprite and a bag of popcorn. 298 cal.
Fiber plus dark almond bar. 130 calories.

2074 calories today.
My calorie range is 1800-2000 calories.
Score= Decent.

I honestly don't have a problem with my calories being over by 74 calories, especially since I only ate when I was hungry.

Wednesday was weird food wise...

Ginger carrot muffin. 300 cal.
Lean pocket. 250 cal.
Sprite. 140 cal.
2oz soft serve on a cake cone. 120 cal.
Angry whopper, no mayo. 680 cal.
Small fry, no salt. 340 cal.

Total: 1830 calories.
My calorie range is 1800-2000 calories.
Score = Good.

I had BK for dinner because my calories were way too low and I was craving it. Although, I had no fruits and vegs whatsoever, so, I definitely need to work on that, and, yeah, I know BK wasn't healthy even though I stayed in my calorie range... but at least I stayed in the range.

I cheated on my weigh in, 2 days early. 254.6lbs. Not bad. I don't think I will start getting excited until I get under 250lbs... since the last 3 times I "started losing weight again" in the past few months, I still haven't got past 250lbs. Of course, today doesn't help, I haven't eaten yet today because I haven't been feeling well, now that I am and it's so late in the day, I'm considering and most likely will be ordering chinese.
