LisaIsLosingIt's Diary

I am new to the forum. Came across it yesterday while searching 100+lbs weight loss...was looking into the issue of excess skin...anyway, here is a rundown of where I've been and where I'm at.

Started Diet Plan May 21, 2009 with a weight of 269.9 at 5'4".

As of today, Oct. 14, 2009, I am at 203.4.

I recently incorporated exercise when I hit about 50lbs. lost and I'm pretty much enjoying it but I do have lots of questions about how often, what type of exercise, etc....

I am eating way better than I did pre-diet, but I also fear that I'm not keeping track of nutrients (protein, etc.) enough to do it optimally. I have been operating on calories mainly...and after reading around here, I know I'm going to get chastised for not eating enough...

Extra skin and nutrition

Hi Lisa,

I am new to this site too. Congradulations on the weight loss, keep it up. I already lost over 100 lbs but gained 50 lbs back in the last year. Please remember to take a good multivitamin with chromium and b complex. This really helps to loose weight. I take them twice a day when loosing weight. Also getting enough continuous sleep is important. Walking briskly 4 times a week is enough exercise when just loosing fat. When you want to gain / define your muscles, then add the resistance and lifting. Keep your fat intact to 21 grams or under, everyday, no exceptions. Then you can move to 26 grams once you have reached your end goal.

My problem is overeating and eating inappropriate foods as well as laziness. Plain and simple. I have done it before and am starting to do it again now. Today is my first day "on the job". I weighed myself for the first time in months today. I am 190 lbs and am 5'2". I will be getting down to 150 lbs and then will reassess the situation at that time. I plan on lossing the 50 lbs by March 31, 2010. This is my goal date. My daughter will be getting her 1st Communion around then. I can do this!

I set small goals of 10 lbs with rewards as I reach them. Rewards like going to a concert, cowboy boots, sexy clothes. The best reward was my tattoo. I got it when I reached my last goal of 136 lbs end weight. I have to tell you though, I was not a happy person. I was much happier and content at 150 lbs ish.

As for the extra skin issue...I have been told by many people that the skin is the last thing to tighten all the way up. This happens when you hve no more fat to loose. It never happened to me because I stopped my weightloss at 136 lbs. I would of had to go to about 110 lbs ish. I cheated a bit. I had a tummy tuck that goes all the way around my body. I had had two kids by C section and had what is called a mothers apron, (big sagging skin just above the pubic bone). The doctors said it would never go away on its own, even at 110 lbs...so I paid the money and had the surgury. Really great doctorm did a wonderful job. Then I got lazy and took the easy way out...now I have to get on it, get the job done. I am excited to det into my sexy clothes again. I will be able to keep the weightloss to myself over the winter and the in the spring, I will look great!

Keep up the amazing job!
