I know what you mean about the bland diet foods. I was watching Oprah one day and she said something about eating dry toast and a poached egg for breakfast. I thought ick. I just can't do dry toast. Way to bland. That is the only time I use marjarine.

I like to spice it up a little so I tend to drown my food in salt. Which I am working hard to get away from. I have been subsitituting salt for other tasty spices. Being creative is pretty important if you want to do this long term. At least I have just begun to realize this for myself.

thanks.... alot of it I think starts with the shopping. not all chicken and turkey is made the same. I buy alot of the fresh ground turkey. There are some that are mostly white meat and those are the best for you, very lean. Then some have a mix of light and dark meat. taste better but alot more calories. Those are a little dry when it comes to just a baked patty. But you can put it in something like chili, the spices give it a great taste and the tomato sauce keeps if from being dry. just watch the calories in the beans and such..the main thing i do different in something like chili is ill add chicken or beef stock instead of the beer i would normally use. I guess i just take what I like and change it more heart healthy and calorie friendly.

Looking good! I agree with you on upping the calorie intake. I was getting kind of worried for a minute until I read where you said that.

well im back from my walk. It turned out to be more of a swim lol. man the sky really opened up. How hard is it to build an ark anyhow. well one good thing came out of it, I started walking and im back 5 miles later. Thats the one thing about living out of the city, you can walk and walk and walk. It took me longer to get home than getting there. after all skunks always have the right of way lol. so i didnt mind waiting to cross the street.

Heh - walking with wildlife- take a camera with you next time pictures of your nature hike... I learned the hard way... Skunks can do whatever they want- -where ever they want... whenever they want.. I'll wait

I love walking in the rain - and splashing in puddles...

Hey hillybillylee,

I know what you mean. When I see how well I eat (and I enjoy the food I eat a lot when it's healthy and guilt-free and doing my body good ) for so few calories, I'm amazed at how I managed to put on all the weight. The crappy food (excuse me) is really not worth the amount of calories it is - sometimes it helps to start thinking when you're off track "I could be having a whole bag of delicious cold cherries/some cantaloupe/etc - and I would actually not mind - instead of this greasy junk food...."

Ok, I'm rambling. Good luck!
