Rep Power: 38 | | Oh it's not all about food and I think I'm pretty good with what I'm doing.
Basically the trip breaks down to 1 day in Detroit, 3 in Toronto, and 1 in Toledo.
In Detroit, we won't have time to do a lot after the ballgame and they do have a supposedly very cool sports bar by the park we'll probably head to. Dinner will most probably be in Greek Town and yes there are healthy options there.
In Toronoto we want to hit the Top O' the Senator Jazz club and we'll do the typical sight seeing stuff in the day. We'll definitely go to the NHL Hall of Fame. We've had some very good food reccomendations for Toronto and some of it will be very healthy and some of it will not.
On the way to Toledo we're going to hit one of the Presidential Museums, but in town the two reccomendations we have are Tony Pacco's hot dogs and a Hungarian restaurant--neither appear real healthy.
Its going to be 5 days and I definitely believe I can maintain. On a side note, I really reallized I'm not counting calories. The reason is if I limit myself to 1500 calories and its 8PM and I have had 1150, I will find a way to get 350 empty calories. Instead I'm going by feel and when I'm really hungry. I'm averaging between 1150 and 1800 calories. Every now and then I eat very well and get up to 2000 if something special comes up. I am now starting to feel and see my progress so it's definitely been working for me. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Yeah Canon I remember the concert with GBS and Runrig as I had luckily managed to get into the soundcheck that day. It was 2001 and was the first time Runrig had played in my home town, they did a concert there as their new keyboarder was from the same town as me.
I'm sure you'll be OK on your trip away, just mind bring a funnell and a big tube so someone can force water down your neck! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hey Cannon!! It sounds like you've got a good plan worked out for your trip. You definatly can not deny yourself everything...other wise, just like anything in life, you'll rebel against it, and go ALL out in whatever you missed out on. I really think there's a teenager in ALL of us, no matter how old we are!! I also wanted to touch base as we're in the same team for the 2 week challenge. Good luck, I know we can be the biggest losers!!! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Great stuff, guy, not just for trip planning but for overall eating habits. Just eating when you feel hungry, it's definitely the best way of doing it. And obviously it's working for you, your average intake is bang on.
Keep going, Cannon! You're doing fantastic

Rep Power: 83 | | Cannon, it sounds like you've got a great trip planned out
I also agree with what you said about not eating after you're full. I had one day that I was at 600+ calories at 8:00 and was very bothered about it, and ended up having another 250+ before bed simply so that I didn't finish the day with too low a count. Eating that close to sleeping definitely did not help me sleep
Granted - I never have those kind of days, but I did feel pretty full throughout the day. The day after though, I was *starving* all day
Anyway, have a good night! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Sorry guys! I had to make the threads and I hadn't heard anything from anyone in your group. I posted the thing about coming up with your own name over 24 hours ago so I was hoping everyone would have time to see it and get back with me. |

Rep Power: 38 | | Nothing to apologize for Hypo. I didn't see it, but Fat Blasters works fine. Every time I hear it I think of a certain character from Austin Powers movies and that gives me incentive. The group challenge is good for me I think cause it made it much easier for me to get up and walk today. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Morning Cannon. Just to add my two cents about your trip...the reason it's not going to a problem is because you are giving it thoughtful consideration. When you get there you will be conscious about the choices you make and you will be able to make allowances for special treats because you've been laying the groundwork for it. It's the not thinking about it at all that gets us in trouble.
So enjoy yourself and have fun when you go!!! And long live the Fat Blasters!!! |

Rep Power: 38 | | Well I completed my first 5 gallon container of Ice Mountain. I have 4 to finish per month and I got this installed on June 22nd and since then I've been home about half a month. In other words I'm drinking about half as much water as I have set for my goal. On the positive side, in that time I have only had 2 Diet Mountain Dews from my fridge. I have pretty much stopped drinking soda at home and switched to water. With the first 5 gallon container empty, I moved the cooler into the room I spend most of my time in. As I type this, the cooler is about 5 feet from me. I think this alone will increase my water intake.
I had a brilliant idea. My pants size is now a ::cough, cough::: 60 ::::cough, cough::: and as I mentioned before I paid off most of my outstanding debt in the past year by going to cash and keeping envelopes to save for things. To that end, I decided when I get paid on Friday I'm going to deposit $20 in an envelope. When my pants size drops to 52, I will spend it all on getting a new wardrobe that fits me very well. When I get to 44 I will do the same thing and when I get to 36 the same. I believe 36 should be right around my goal weight. My next long term goal is going to be to get down to a 52 at Christmas. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I agree with you about calorie counting. Normally on a work day I would plan to have 2000 calories. I have had 1550 calories now, I feel nicely satisfied with a big bowl of veggie and rice stir fry in my tummy, and I have no intention of eating anything else. But I know that at other times I would have thought, oh, I can have 450 more calories, I'll have some porridge, or something else. Of course then you have reinforced the bad habit of eating when full, and normally I would fancy something else after and it would end in a binge.

as for the water thing - i think that takes time to get used to drinking so much -- pace yourself, man...
And when changing the water bottle - gimme ten curls with the water bottle in hand.. (Ok, maybe five.. especially since they are heavy
