Cannon, don't worry that you won't have met your summer goal. You've done absolutely amazingly, and I'll bet you can feel and see a big difference. Great big congratulary *hugs*
You could always change your hair apperance by dying it. How about bright purple? I'll bet that'll work! I don't like seeing sad faces, so keep smiling, it's only hair
Cannon sounds like your doing great. If you miss your goal a little hey no worries mate. we have a lot more to lose than most of the others and it just may take a little longer thats all. What I have been doing is treat myself to something good out to eat. It seems to keep me from missing any of the food out there. I know it probably cost me a pound a week but it just helps keep me on the road. last week was chinese this week i may go out for a nice italian dinner. This is what I do to let myself know im doing a good job. So if you dont meet your summer goal just pretend your in texas; Afterall, we still have 4 moths of summer. good luck and keep it up.........
I'm not despondent that I won't meet my summer goal. I just have to decided what the new goal is. It was extremely ambitious, but I don't see 66 pounds happenning. I'm either going to keep that goal and make it by Halloween or I'll keep that end of summer and make it a smaller number. I am tickled with my progress so far :-).
By the way, I took my mom, step-dad, sister and brother-in-law out to lunch today. We went to Baker's Square which is a place known for their pie. Their lunches tend to be on the fattening side too. I had a grilled chicken with honey mustard, cheese and onion on focacia. I passed on the fries. I had a half slice of blueberry pie for desert and got it alamode. Then I left most of the ice cream. I did good! I probably left there between 800-900 calories.
Just checking in. Glad you got through a hard day and kept yourself in check. Your weigh in today was extra special. I think you could do 66 by the end of summer. All depends on what you call te end of summer. Your doing great so far. Thanks for all your encouragement in my diary and on our challenge thread. Have a great weekend.
You know what they say about balding men .... lots of testosterone!!!
My mother says of my father... who's been bald for as long as i can remember -- grass doesn't grow on a busy street... so if the hair is thinning, that means the brain is working
Bakers square? I really have to get out and travel more. I love the foodie places... does it show? Its always going to be hard when your around places like that. I have the family here so it cuts out alot of that outside temptations. I can send them out to places I don't want to go, well except going to school with a bunch of carbohaulics. I think your doing great. no worries........
Yeah, I had Baker's Square at lunch and dinner was pizza with friends. I stopped at 5 squares and half a serving of Doritos and 3 of us got a veggie. Not a great day, but could have been horrible. I even refrained from beer for diet coke. Staying under 1800 calories for a day with the kind of temptation isn't bad. I feel that I can keep that kind of willpower going for my trip, though sometimes I may choose not to be as strict. I guess the key here is choice. I don't want to blow 4 weeks of progress, but if enjoying my trip means an extra 2 weeks of diet so be it. I'm trying to change a lifestyle and not diet anyway.

Wow you're strong, dude! They sounded like they could have been pretty hard days, but you tackled them like that rugby player in your sig.! Go you, you're doing great!
I have no doubt in your mind that during the trip away you'll be just as strong. And like you said, it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. You don't have to deprive yourself the whole time. Again, enjoy it, and if things go wrong, then no regrets, just enjoy it.
You guys are the best. The key for me is using my brain and making good choices. Using this forum really helps with that. Does anybody know how many calories are in your standard thin crust veggie pizza? I had 5 squares--not slices. That's what I don't like is when I'm clueless about the nutritional information of what I'm eating because its harder to make a good choice. You know myself, my sister in Ohio, and my other sister's husband have now lost a combined total of 131 pounds. For me it's been summer vacation. For my brother in law he quit his job to get a new job and to get his CPA this summer. My sister meanwhile was unemployed and living off a settlement last year. I reallize how much easier it is to lose weight without work stress. For any stay at home moms--none of us had kids to take care of. That's a completely different issue we didn't have to worry about either.

Really it depends on the pizza. But my sources tell me (and I don't have a lot of faith in my sources, though they give a rough idea) that 4 oz/112g worth of pizza is 251 kcals.
That's part of the reason why I get a bit apprehensive about eating out. I can't see how much calories are in them, and my guesses usually ends up being quite wrong... That why I like to cook/prepare food at home; I can read packets, weigh things and measure amounts. Then I can be absolutely exact. I quite enjoy doing that, really
I guess it depends on the person whether or not stress affects weight loss. If you're keeping busy in a job, you don't dwell on "when can I eat next" or "how much have I eaten today" or "I can hear that huge lump of chocolate-fudge cake calling me from the fridge" However, if the stress really builts up, comfort eating occurs. I'm pleased for your sister and BIL, 131 pounds between them is another person! Tell them a random Brit says well done
And just think; soon you'll have lost just as much all by yourself. Keep rocking, dude!
According to Fitday, a thin crust vegetable pizza has about 10 calories in a square inch...
a 1/8 piece of a 12 inch pie has about 150 calories...
But every place is different.. depending onhow the vegetables are prepared (some places marinate their veggies in olive oil, while healthy and great tasting, it adds calories)
But the veggie pizza sounds like it's agreat choice and even if it is higher in calories than anticipated, it's still getting vegetables which are good for you..
