Wow that's really great. A big loss on more calories can't be bad!!

Maybe eggwhite instead of whey? It has about the same protein/calorie breakdown. Good luck!!

Hey! It's been awhile since I checked up on you. It's great that you figured out about the starvation. I wish I were starving with 2000 calories/day. I would gain with that!!

Good luck with this new diet plan! Have a great week!

I'm still not sure about 3500 for me. The math says that at my weight I should need an inordinate ammount for maintenance. I'm willing to give 3500 and 75g of protein a day a try. If not I'll have gained a few pounds lost a few weeks and ruled something out. I'll live.

Your doing great, keep up the good work, It is great if the higher calorie count work for you, but 75 grams of protein shouldnt be to hard to achieve on your new calorie limit.

You know what? I didn't really how ridiculously easy 75 grams is to hit. I've been conciously getting in a lot more than that. I'm going to push myself to get considerably more than that. Thanks for the pep talk. I know this forum works for me. I need to get back in the swing and I feel horrible about how little posting in other people's diaries I've been doing.

It is easy to hit! But if you up it, make sure you drink lots of water and um, sometimes ppl get constipated. So if you aren't losing weight but eating right... that could be a cause.

Yeah, what the hell man!! You're going to need to up your posting counts so that some of the ruder members of this forum have someone to gripe and belittle when they get tired of poking at Mal and Steve. (But seriously, we're all busy and somedays you just don't feel like nosey-ing around... hope April is off to a good start... just a few weeks left at school, right?)

75g isn't a whole heck of a lot of protein - most everything i've read says it should be 1 gram per lb of lean body mass... but I'm glad to see you're giving 3500 calories a shot... your calories have been quite low for too long - so that number should be sustainable...

OK I did the math myself and discovered that the best estimate is .8 grams per kg of weight. I have decided that I'm going to go to 140 grams of protein per day. I discussed it with the trainer Monday and she agreed. What I found was at 3500 calories and 75g it was just giving me too many garbage calories. Workout was actually much better on Monday. I like the trainer and she explains things well, but I think she thought I was more fragile than I am. Monday was a much better workout as she has gotten to know I could handle more.

Hey, I took a small breather from the diary, but not from the weight loss. I'm still working out hard and I intend to be back full time by the middlle of June. I just wanted to say "hi", that I miss you guys, and that I have not gone back to the old ways or given up.
