while i wouldn't give up music for anything- there are also a ton of podcasts available that are great for when you are out walking.... ITunes has a walking one that's kinda fun... and there are just tons of others on practically any subject (but you probably knew that
I was thinking of buying an MP3 player but I don't know anything about them. Are they sort of like IPods? I have a great album I love to walk to called "The Stamping Ground" by Runrig (Scottish band I like) the album even has a song called "Summer Walkers" on it!
Hope you have a great weekend cannon, it's nearly here (oh how I love saying that).
Oh wow! Another Runrig fan. Very cool. I'm of Irish ancestry and have always liked Irish music which eventually got me into bands like Runrig and Great Big Sea--good walking music. Breaking the Chains is another good walking song. Val, I'm so glad you didn't have to kick my butt too
Hi Cannon,
This is my first time checking in since you got back from vacation - Congrats on the weight loss!! You did a great job picking healthier choices! I have never gone away and come back with a loss!!
Very Cool!
As for walking, I've been walking in the mornings, and this is the first time in my life I LOVE it! It's cool out, not hot yet, I meet a friend half way, we chat a bit and turn and go home. I never really thought I'd like walking
Well, I ate wrong today. I'm not eating too many calories, but I'm not eating enough food. I need to hit the store tomorrow and buy some nice fresh produce.
I'm not worried about the calories. That's about 2050. I should lose a pound today on those calories. What worries me is what is missing--fruits and veggies. I am going to do better starting with shopping tomorrow. My habbits aren't going to go 180 degrees and even small change takes time, but the way I ate today isn't really sustainable nor is it healthy long term and I really haven't done much better the last 3 days. I'm not down, but I'm definitely determined to change things and get back to eating the right way.

I wouldn't say that that was eating wrong. Like you said, you're still OK for calories. As for not having fruit or veg, you're planning on changing that, which is the positive thing. We all learn from our "mistakes" (I use that term loosely) and you're learning by making a point of buying some fresh produce. I say go you!
You might want to watch the Popeyes chicken. It's known to have high levels of arsenic in. I'm sure some not too often won't kill anyone, but just as a point.
Oh my God oh my God oh my God Great Big Sea are fabulous! I saw them in 2001 when they supported Runrig on their tour. Hardly any of the Runrig fans had heard of them before so we were all feverishly downloading tracks but whoa we got a huge surprise when they came on and had us all jumping around. I'm a huge fan of U2 as well!
Have you heard any of Bruce Guthros solo stuff? it's very nice!

Great Big Sea recorded one CD I didn't like when they got poppy, but their last one was an improvement though my favorite song wasn't on the CD. I haven't heard any Bruce Guthros solo stuff though I'd like to. I like some of the hard driving half rock/half folk groups and they make good work out music too. Connemara Stone Company is another one I like. I had no idea GBS supported Runrig on a tour in 2001--Man I would have loved to have seen that. I like U2 as well and have seen them live 6 or 7 times.
Bronski--I didn't know about the arsenic. Then again, maybe I'm building up an immunity like villians used to do in old mystery novels. I don't really eat too much of it at least. Now, I'm off to shop.
arsenic in food. hmmmmm dont know about all of that. I know alot of foods have trace elements maybe that one was one of those. kinda like the odd things we find in dish. ahhh well anyhow have fun shopping.....
